  • it is lois lake in powell river and apparently the kokanee fishing is better in the fall and winter

  • it is open for kokanee in the winter and the lake doesnt freeze

  • @johnmngn Which lake are you referring to? If it is opened and ice free, then I don't see why not. The fishing maybe considerably slower than what it would be like in spring and summer due to the lower water temperature.

  • @fishingwithrod it is lois lake in powell river and apparently the kokanee fishing is better in the fall and winter.

  • can you troll for kokanee in the winter in southern B.C ??

  • @johnmngn Not really. Lakes in Southern BC that have kokanee are either closed for fishing in the winter months or opened for ice fishing.

  • Where are you? This looks great! It is seriously tough for us to catch kokanee where I am. We have to troll super deep

  • ctedone, your a pefect example of the sanctimonious fly fisherman who has no idea what he is talking about. Kokanee normaly dont exceed 12-14 inches in most bodies of water. Further more, lakes that do have undersized fish are generally overpopulated with fish, which is why they are undersized to the fact that they have exhausted their food source. In Oregon the biologist encourage high harvest numbers of 25 or 50 fish in order to restore the balance.

  • @Alumaweld18 I'm used to 25 fish limits as well . We have lakes full of only hot dog sized kokanee . The thinner they get , the more 20 in plus fish we see.

  • Why are you keeping such small fish? Thats like an appetizer with three. Let them get big! Bait fisherman, have no respect for the fish or the waters..... Fish it till its empty.

  • Before making such a comment, perhaps some research on the fishery maybe needed. The maximum growth size of these kokanees is what you are seeing in the video as the population is at the lake's carrying capacity. While catching and releasing is always encouraged, releasing fish that actually has a reverse effect simply to feel good is rather silly.

  • Furthermore, rude stereotyping only discredit one's opinion.

  • what did you use

  • always read descriptions........it said krill in the description...

  • fun action on the fly

  • thats the average size on Kawkawa Lake, BC

  • looks kinda like trout to me but good vid happy fishing every one

  • How do you get the krill? Do you catch them somehow, or can you buy them in a store? I'd be interested in seeing how you rig the bait.

  • Ah, that is so cool :]

  • If you ever have a 3 day weekend or something drive down to McLean pond it's at the edge of the mountains on the Alberta side of the boarder, close to Calgary, or the bow river off of the highway 22 bridge, there is access to the bow river from the local golf course parking lot both have really great flyfishing

  • man the fish aren't that big but their still fun to catch

  • i was thinking about watching this video on your site
