I dont understand all the warp modes well yet, but the manual just kind of flatly says complex pro is "best" without any exceptions. What is it about complex you prefer? I think Ill upload an example of what it seems to do to my sound. I likely have just screwed something up.
@KeebieTalk I would agree that complex pro is considered the "best" but I don't have the proper equipment or ear to really tell the difference. I'm just using some cheap headphones so playback is not accurate for me. I think pro uses more cpu resources so I stick to complex since I have so many clips loaded.
How far off are you from the clips original bpm? I could potentially see artifacts being created and degradation in sound if you are warping a clip way off bpm.
Hey, happy to see you are still in the remix world. Just got my copy of Ableton and and ready to put in some work. Is it just me or does the warp feature degrade the sound quality quite a bit? Even the Complex Pro seems to cause the loop to loose something.
@KeebieTalk Hey man.. Sort of..I don't really agree that the warp feature would be causing a degradation in sound quality. I use complex religiously and do not tend to use complex pro. There is also a "hi-q" button within each clip you may want to experiment with. I think there is also a setting in the audio prefs for high quality SR and pitch conversion by default. What I definitely notice is that Abletons output is a few db lower than other software. Otherwise, no problems here
