Ey Jacques, thanks for the comment. It's not made of foam and it doesn't fly over 100 MPH, but I have always been fascinated with heli's because I can fly it right out of my front lawn.
it's now running on my new transmitter so the headhold is finally working. i credit your how to video series for getting her to fly well on the maiden run.
Cool Heli Ken! I want to get one too one of these days. Looks like a lot of fun. Jon had a heli out at Hermann airport this weekend, he's trying to learn how to fly it. Anyway, cool video and heli! 5-stars.
Paul, i was sooooo into heli's only until i started watching your's and Franks videos and you guys are the ones that got me into parkjets. wouldn't it be funny now if I got you guys into heli's? now here's a thought.... a heli in either your's or Franks hands will probably do at least 115 mph after your usual "FoamFighter" setup/modification. LOL!!!
Nice flight Ken! Only heli I have ever flown was a co-ax. Had enough problems with the blades slapping each other in ANY wind or if I tried to fly it too fast. Looks like fun though! Nice flight! Where will you be listing the old RD8000 if you sell it? I need a step up from my Hitec Laser4. Haha! 5 stars boss. Great flight!`
SEBratt, i will be probably listing my radio system on either craigslist or ebay. if you are interested, i can give you the details. it's actually an RD6000 super (6channel). i have 4 receivers for it (2 micro and 2 standard). it's good for basic collective or fixed pitch flying but is not recommended for aggressive 3D flying
6ch would be perfect. I would actually be using it for airplanes for now and possibly a basic heli later. But the heli would be down the road a bit. It would still be good for planes right?
SEBratt, watch all my videos (50+ of them) to see how well this transmitter works, especially the "rcFF CA updates Jan 2010 & FF-23" video. i don't use any onboard mixers (because i'm too cheap to buy them) so all of the programming was from this transmitter. if it wasn't for me wanting to learn 3D heli stuff, i would just keep it, but i'm also expanding to more complex parkjet setups that need more channels. i will PM you more details
Way to knock the dust off..!!...great flight! ..especially for not bein on the sticks for a year! How well does that collective handle negative pitch?
TheLipRipp3r, are you talking about knocking the dust off my heli or Me???!! LOL! collective pitch handles negative pitch just as good as it handles positive pitch on this model. it's a t-rex clone. type in MikeysRC to see all the details and build on it
g'day crazy9. it's an EXI brand which is the version 2 t-rex clone. check out MikeysRC videos on this heli for the whole build a long. i got the whole kit for $40 shipped with a metal head (on sale). tell chappers that instead of a lawn darting contest, we can have a lawn mowing contest with our helis! heh heh!
I grind my teeth just watching helis anymore. I can do the realflight sim all day long, but the nerves get the best of me in the real world, i don't know how you do it. Good skill without the head locking!
I wish I had a knowledgeable friend when I was wrecking the blade 400 over and over. Nice flying ken!
brando. you've got great fixed wing skillz when i was watching the sukhoi vid. believe it or not. i used to help guide Thanh on flying his first fixed pitch, then his collective pitch heli. and now he is the one teaching me!
Righton Ken! Seems like u can fly Helicopters to :)
Good job man!
