And yes, we respect each other. We don't particularly like each other on that Saturday. Michigan's great coach Bo Schembechler and OSU's great coach Woody Hayes were best friends. They cursed at each other all the time. But Woody visited Bo in the hospital when Bo had his heart attack. And Bo spoke at Woody's funeral.

To say that a few people with offensive signs represent all of Ohio and Michigan is laughable.

We don't envy Michigan, we detest everything about Michigan. We respect their National Titles and their program, but detest them all the same.

You've obviously never met a Michigan fan.

But they and their fanbase are pompus arrogant disgusting human beings.

They are annually what stands in our way from another Big 10 championship and a trip to the rose bowl. Ohio's war with Michigan started before the rivalry and even bagged us Toledo.

No way do we envy them. But we respect them. Envy means you are discontent with your position and wish to switch with someone else. You can ask people on both sides of the rivalry and no one wants to switch places. So your language is a little off.

Ohio and Michigan almost went to war over the border line between the two states. A detachment of the National Guard, led by Robert E. Lee (!) was sent in to keep the peace. We got Toledo, they got the U.P.

Everyone in OH & MI loves the rivalry.

So you had to look up the term before you replied to me? Well, I looked it up myself like you said. It said, "a feeling of discontent OR covetousness with regard to another's advantages, success, possessions, etc." Notice the word "OR" in there. It also means "ill will".

Now, before you just want to make this a "definition" war, just stop. You'd probably prefer to go 1-11 with the 1 win be against MU rather than go 11-1 with the one loss be against them.
