When the movie Heavy Metal was finally cleared for American release on VHS, 15 some years after it hit the theaters I won a contest on a Seattle radio station. Went to Las Vegas, got the VHS and a bunch of swag...still have it and the two CD's that came with it...

What I love about this part of the movie is that it has nothing to do with the Loc-Nar, and yet it's supposed to be the Loc-Nar telling all these stories.

I just love picturing the Loc-Nar in it's dark evil voice saying "And, then the aliens got stoned while the robot did it with the chick. It was awesome! Anyway, this doesn't really have much to do with anything I just felt like telling you about that,"

Loved this film since i was 12 when i saw it on november 18 years ago on TBS thanks to reading my local city's TV guide on friday and saturday nights, loved it. I also watched other awesome adult animated cult faves like Vampire Hunter D, Rock and Rule, American Pop and Robot Carnival, they ruled my world. I even bought HM on video uncut and uncensored when i was 15 with the soundtrack, i had a major crush on Taarna since i was 12.

That is a really cute looking spaceship, for some reason when I've first seen the backphotos of Heavy Metal I actually thought the scene with the spaceship was gonna take place at the beginning of the movie but it came within 2/3rd's of the movie.

The "So Beautiful So Dangerous" segment is definitely my favorite segment of the movie.
