Hens Abused at Major California Egg Factory Farm

Raw milk dairy farmers are being treated unfairly for selling people real foods, yet Monsanto, big food companies, and factory farmers can get away with selling consumers GMO foods, pussed-filled milk, and rotten meat. This world is backwards and it's time for things to change. Eat local and support your small family farms because they don't treat their animals like they're just a product to be sold. Get rid of these factory farms and bring back real farmers.

This makes me so angry. Don't get me wrong, I eat animals and animal products, but I don't support this kind of treatment. Make me understand why this is allowed. It's all about money and the government turns a blind eye. I buy my meat from a local farm that is organic and allows the animals to eat their natural diets and roam freely outside. Factory farms need to be abolished forever. I don't drink raw milk, but I find it upsetting that the farmers who sell this milk are being arrested.

im so happy that battery cages are illegal here in europe now but sadly they have a 'better' version of the cages now.. with a perch and egg laying box inside.. but i think is still cruelty.. :(

This is why I have my own chickens. <3 this is also why most of my friends are paying 5 bucks for 12 eggs. They know my chickens are not abused, and they are happy. And if you have happy healthy chickens, you have happy healthy eggs. :)

This is absolutely grotesque. There is no reason why, if some people still want to consume eggs, that SMALL, community raised and cared for hens could not be kept on a nice piece of land where they could safely forage and be given nesting boxes and fed a wholesome diet.... I don't understand what happened to community and neighbours helping each other...

My heart is breaking. I have my own chickens in my yard and I spend so much time caring for them and cleaning their cage, wiping their beaks, stroking their feathers, checking for any mites. I am so sad we as humans can do this.

@Lizardo277 perhaps if people would wake up to the horrors we inflict on animals, we would not think it is OK to inflict these same horrors on other humans.

How we treat animals, reflects how we treat our fellow human beings. You cannot separate one from the other.

Both issues are horrible and need to be addressed. Ignoring one does not make the other go away.

We need to treat all creatures as gently as possible. All wars need to be prevented, perhaps if we learn to be humane it will stop.

Me and my family used to buy eggs here... after we saw this we never went to this place again.

Why is it that people think animals and humans are on the same level? Do you not think we should do something about the injustices towards people that is happening in third world countries or even look around the corner at the homeless person on the street. you've got to be careful about free range as well, since they may not be coming from farms that treat the hens any better. You really have to visit the farms yourself to make sure, or see if the farm is certified by the American Humane Association, which gives some assurance that the conditions are at least a little less cruel.
