I bought the SolidWorks 2011 book which covers beginner to advanced topics, and is very comprehensive. I often use the book as a reference to go through.
I'm impressed but cannot get over this terrible music. For the sake of everyone's ears, I hope YouTube removes this video's audio. BTW for all the time you spent on this intricate animation, you would think that the colors would not be as tacky as someone's Christmas yard lighting.
@incaman0140 Simply awsome designing and animation, but the music oozes cheeziness. It takes this serious project and diminishes its content to that of a toothpaste commercial.
That was great. I commend you on your great job. One thing just turn off the edges next time for a little better look and faster processing. BUT GREAT JOB!!
I think he does have a life. (A real Job that does this) :) this is probably already set + assembled and he's probably working on a new design for a different company. Skills like this don't go to waste.
This is excellent work. Good job and very useful tool. I have shown this in my Computer class and my engineering Class. This is added to my teaching material, and it is fun and educational.
I know this sounds stupid. But what is your job? What is it called / the degree you got etc. This is what I want to do for my career; but I dont know where to begin.
@conrad237 There are most likely duplicate parts or parts that are similar, but the sizes are different. In which case, you can copy the part and redimension it and save it as a new part. And it's not that hard to make a part in SolidWorks. You get used to the commands and shit after a while. I can make a simple piston and cylinder in under 2 minutes if I have to.
its even more easy that just redimension a part, just add table to the part to modify the variant u want to control, and that all... its the same part with diferent sizes all in one, just diferent configuration, i have made some machines in previous work, and solidworks became the most efficient, easy and high end final product (model 3d and blueprints)
looks like alot of work, but very well done. that is fantasticly complex. i've got a v8 that's giving me a hard time because of the complexity. i'll put up a video in a couple of days to show that off
he must be good at solidworks :D great great great job, big respect, but the music is not to my taste. would be nice to see videos how this assembly was built, key points or somth.
Sweeeeeet! SolidWorks somehow makes it look easy to do some complex assemblies and animations like this, even so much so that I think I could do something like this myself.
If this was done in SW 2006, I wonder what could be done with 2008! 12,000 parts, wow! Motivates me to get some more work done in SolidWorks.
I'd also like to see what the results from COSMOSWorks look like on some sub-assemblies after transferring the loads calculated with COSMOSMotion in this simulation... very nice I'm sure.
It's really impressive to see how one can easily create an animation to show a whole assembly line process in SolidWorks! This can be a very helpful visualization tool. I could probably do without the music though. :)
Nice job!! The detail and realism are amazing...especially with the perspective view on. Ok...back to work, as much as I want to I cant watch SolidWorks videos all day!
Nice work. There are a lot of SolidWorks videos out here on YouTube and I never get tired of watching the creativity and ingenuity of its users. Thank you for posting

Yeap, must have taken a while... I went from ProEngineer to Solid Works, and I had some problems I have never thought of before, like you can't make anything more then 500 meters, if you make a pattern, everything goes in snailspeed after that. Oh I miss my time with ProEngineer...
If that was based off an actual production line theres a few places where time and processes could have been saved, but yeah, me being picky :) lol... great job!
amazing!!

@incaman0140 no offence, but i call BS here...
2 weeks
14 days
336 hours
20,160 minutes.
that means you made an object every 1.68 minutes, assuming you didn't sleep at all in those 2 weeks.
it is however a very nice little thingamajig. good work.
