Meanwhile, years have shown Bill Gates to be the better, more compassionate, more caring human being. Bill, not Steve, deserves to be mentioned with the greats in history, because he is LITERALLY trying to change the world, not simply control consumerist culture in the way Microsoft controls the world of operating systems.

He became his idols. An highly intelligent, highly disruptive force in the world we live in. He was the Beatles of the Tech world. He may not have done anything first (Not up for debate, just a statement!), but he always seemed to do it best in terms of public perception and popularity. He always did it best and the most popular. Great example is mp3 players. Certainly not the first, but it is not synonymous with iPod.
