  • I am wondering why you slouch so much previously, and then I realize the dummy is too short for you ;p

  • i wanna get me this furniture

  • Finally a good dummy video, this Sifu knows what he's doing. Much respect to this gentleman.

  • honestly this wooden dumby is setting people up for failure when they fight

this guy right here, would DIE if he slipped on a banana peel.

  • this isent tradition wing chun because the bui gee sections are done first it was only changed when ip man became ill and could not remb the forms properly so master wong shun leong surgested he teach the dummy backwards

  • this video was ruined by the cheesy music

  • I would love to spar against someone who knew this just to see if its effective at all. I give pretty much anything besides take my dough oh im sorry i mean tae kwon dick a chance at working

  • Do you get browses on your arms while doing this?

  • maaaan, it's such a shame people waste their time on bullshit like this. LEARN ACTUAL FIGHTING DON'T GO HITTING WOODEN 'DUMMIES' YOU IDIOTS!!!

  • I guarantee if some white guy posted a video of him doing what this guy did move for move, everyone would be bashing him and disliking the hell out of the video.

  • Very nice flow and control. I love the sound of the wood and the beauty of such woodwork too. Thanks.

  • WOW AMAZING CONTROL OF POWER DISTRIBUTION HERE REAL MASTER

  • I had all 14 parts saved on my favourites from this brilliant Sifu only to find they was all ( including this one ) deleted as was his channel . Very disappointing as this is excellent

  • @TheHanson1000 it's normal, he comes from the best wing chun university in hong kong with ip chun masters ^^

  • Now this is Wing Chun. I have all the videos it's pretty cool. Who ever lives near nyssa it's 20 dollars an hour if anyone is interesred go to ricks gym tuesday and thursday ask for wing chun I'm hoping to see you im good at Wing chun so plese come if your interested :).

  • This actually conditions your body and bones jackass so it makes you stronger so when u do get into a street fight it hurts them a lot more and you a lot less.

  • there is actually no reason to learn this if you are trying to learn a martial art. the point of martial arts are to out maneuver your opponent not slap around wood like your mom does to mine. what? is your opponent going to stick out his arms and have an erection while you slap around the 3? this doesnt help to block punches either because punches are not stationary. this is a waste of wood, time, money, and lives. by the way i heard this song in a porno.

  • @itsGdublan go watch youporn and let the wrestler show on-line courses. And please stop talking about erections mr gay because when you will get a knees in the thorax you will understand why you may have learned to protect your body...

  • @ipfan1 I dont know how to respond to you because i have no idea what the fuck you just said. "go watch youporn and let the wrestler show on-line courses."? you realize that doesn't mean anything right?

  • Took me a long time, but I finally memorized the whole form.

  • @Handspoken I believe Sifu Sergio does just that

  • Is this ip man/ip chun lineage? Any slower demos to show?

  • Very interesting video, I learn wc alone and videos like that are very useful for me, I hope to become straight precise and strong like you, you're great!

  • @ipfan1 finaly i learn all the moves..and i practice maybe two months

and i have fun anyway.. ;-)

  • awesome...strong and simple..quick and direct....solid

  • nice form, a few tips...on section 3 keep your fak sau in contact with the arm not high above it. in section 6 when stepping on the left foot before the kick your foot is pointing at the dummy, it should be biu mar stance so turn it out more. huen mar is not circular also and in section 5 use explosive energy at the end not just a big strike. other than that it's good. ip chun lineage?

  • @DanieleToscano lets see your dummy sets

  • @DanieleToscano Moy Yat lineage, if I remember correctly.

  • If you are interested in purchasing your own Wing Chun Wooden dummy please visit shaolinhouse for the finest quality hand made wooden dummys.

  • in my wing chun we learn wooden dummy sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 after sil lim tau, so while we learn chum kiu we learn the mook yun aswell.

  • NICK DIAZ

  • i would learn this martial art, but i prefer ones that work

  • Its not like the dude is going to let you hit him without moving.

  • good to know all this because there are many evil trees around that can atack you

  • @im2PacsFather Don't speak of something you know nothing about.

  • @im2PacsFather lol WTF xDDDD

  • @im2PacsFather The dummy is supposed to represent the "perfect" opponent in which you cannot move him, pull or push off balance it practices full power which if you did a full power kick on a real attacker his leg/knee should break. With no more people who want to train with you it would be very had to have full power all the time.

  • thumbs in, back straight Mister, my sifu would kill me if i did it like that !!

  • @schulleee and you would get killed by anyone with any knowledge in boxing

  • @JMoore4291

your comment doesn't even make sense as an answer to mine lol

  • very good demonstration!!!! :) keep up the good work!

  • The Music?hmm..

  • Sorry, I have to tell You that You did not learn WING CHUN in the right way.

I saw no movement precise and correct.

  • @adfas44 So post a vid and show us the 'right way'.

  • you are a complete nerd wear better pants with better sneakers, ummm, no but for real i was impressed.

  • when do you usually start learning the dummy form??

my sifu said you learn it after you learn siu lim tao, chum kiu, and biu jee but said he wanted to start training me, and others on my level, on the first several movements of the dummy form already (we only know siu lim tao)

  • @airsoftwannabe618 : It depends on the master's style of teaching. In some schools, they will teach the dummy techniques along with the basic techniques, so you can even apply techniques you learn from Siu Nim Tao to the dummy, to feel the correct positions, angles, energy, receive feedback and condition your hands, stance ...etc...

There is no unique true answer for your question, but I prefer to teach the dummy when my students can perform basic techniques to a reasonable level.

  • @TanSauNg2008 Well I got half a year of TWC training and ordered new wooden dummy for 130 euros. My SiFu thinks it is not early for either the dummy or learning the wooden dummy form.

  • @TanSauNg2008 You first learn punching range, then you learn kicking range, then you learn grapling range and only then advance to hand traping range.

  • @TanSauNg2008... exactly, when i started wing chun when i was 14 i had learnt all 8 forms even before i learnt chum kiu and it helps a lot by correcting angles, stance etc it helped me understand the art and also relaxation deflection and forward momentum other than just using plain brute strength when fighting.

  • @TanSauNg2008 Hello TansauNg2008 ! I would like to ask you who is your teacher,is it Master Benny Meng.I trained with him myself & he's really good at what he do & very informative about Wing Chun.Master Benny Meng knows me here in upstate,NY.Great video!

  • @airsoftwannabe618 I started on dummy forms my 2nd day at training

  • @mickb69 ha ha! Your a moron , this guy would break your wrist then your elbow then your knees apoligise for any discomfort your feeling then kindly call you an ambulance tut tut much to learn

  • Grandmaster Yip mans dummy form as taught by Ip Chun and Ip Chin this is a great demonstration of the form thank you for sharing this video of the hidden dummy form in some countries you have to pay thousands to learn this form

  • I shall kneel and light a candle and honor this kung fu guy as I am a traditional kung fu'ist.

  • i saw a lot of different videos of the wooden dummy on youtube, and i gotta say that although hong kong style is different from my "lineage", this is one of the best wooden dummy videos here. Moreover, it's clean, clear ,not confused and not "fast as lightning to show my skill". Greetings and respect to the Sifu.

  • @CrystalEye3 no power!!!!!

  • @singhakabuttar The wooden dummy is not a punching bag. And a form is not about how strong and fast you are, but how precise you are.Since a form is like an alphabet, to say it's wrong because it's slow or weak is like to say "your pronounciation of the A is not good because you don't scream it". I prefere a clear demonstration of how to do a single movement than a lot of sloppy footwork, fast (and often confused) movements and hits to beat the shit out of the dummy. Just my opinion.

  • all the best kung fu masters wear thier pants too high lol

  • Check out the video called Couwolf

  • what does this teach/train?

  • Is this a planned routine, or do you make up the moves as you go?

  • @einstienear This is a form or pre-arranged set of moves. However, the dummy can and should also be trained freestyle. Think of a form as an alphabet. The moves are like letters. You can use all kinds of different combinations of letters to make words. That's how you communicate. But without a solid understanding of the alphabet, you can't possible communicate. The forms give give you the foundation. From there, it's up to you to make it come alive.

  • very good your video :D

    thank's

  • Nice to see a video thats actually shot at a camera angle and speed that can be followed. Nice form.

  • I like this video!

  • hi, can you recommend a good dvd to learn the dummy forms from?

  • @nadster76 I think any good Wing Chun person would recommend you find a good teacher rather than a "good" DVD. Can't ask a DVD questions and a DVD won't tell you what you need to improve.

  • @KiCreativeStudio ah yea i know, but a little insight just to get me going wouldnt hurt, got a teacher lined up and starting in the new year, just wanted to know a little and get going before we start. guess i can use youtube for that afterall really. at the mo i just use my dummy as a training partner.

  • @nadster76 Nice you have a teacher. I hope it goes well. ...and forgive me, I'm not tell you how to train... but Learning wooden dummy before basic training might be the least important of things for you right now if you are a brand new beginner. Just my opinion. Best of luck to you.

  • @KiCreativeStudio no need to forgive, youre simply looking out for me, been doing wing chun for a year now, and using the first form on my dummy, making up scenarios on it, trying to use my energy correctly, etc etc, i think its time to learn the dummy forms now, a little worried that i will be using blocks that arent in the first form but itll all add up in the end i assume.

  • @nadster76 thats exactly what i do too.hope its going good for you!

  • @yulaw3 yea not bad i found a dvd to get me going, i know where to go around it, soon i'll get the sifu to show me properly and i will have saved some time in learning where to go at least, looking forward to tweaking it up to perfection. its a great ornament to have in the living room, i wish the mrs would see it the same way hahahaha. she calls it the dildo tree!!

when i walk down the road now, i have to stop myself from attacking lampost, i just wanna palm strike them haha

  • @nadster76 hahaha i actually laughed out loud when i read the dildo tree, well sounds like were both made from the same stupid putty as i also like to punch And kick stuff on the street,my friends hate me and my enemies hate me even more.put a pot plant on top of it, im sure the missus will like it more.i hope u dont catch her doing rude things to it.

  • @yulaw3 i think a plant with some creepers hanging down it would look quite nice lol

  • @nadster76 ha ha! dildo tree.

  • part of the reason the performance is not 100% is because the wooden dummy is one that martial arts mart sells. they are associated with the producer of the video. so it's a laminated trunk, it's mounted too high, the arms are too large, and too far apart, and the dummy trunk does not slide, and the beams do not flex. this is a horrible wooden dummy, by the way.

  • he's pretty shit to be honest, very inconsistent. some are strikes while some are simply pushing, some hands have forward movement, some don't. How u hit the dummy is how u fight against a real person, lets look at this guy, does it look like he can hurt anyone?

  • @siusiujuju hurt.. who knows... subdue? definatly.

  • Very good ! I only can do to 0.10 at this point, can't wait before my sifu teaches me more !

    //Wing Chun practicioner

  • nice

  • looks like he taught him a lesson

  • @MultiUndertow , he must've have put him to shame in front of all his students...

  • this guy.. clueless..met him in person. Another guy selling out his culture for American money. Shameful.

  • Comment removed

  • @kizzbluntstryke , did you touch hands with him? it seems to me like he knows what he's doing no?

  • perfect wing chung all forms are right, but did not finish with horse stance but love it reminded me of my younger kid days.

  • if you want to see a traditional style mook jong set check out Couwolf

  • what does the middle stick represent on this Mook Yan Jong the guys penis or something? I dont get it please tell me

  • @ChiStriker , i m not sure but i think this would be a foot of the enemy.

  • @Subhead18 my friend said it respresents like an uppercut actually or a low punch

  • @ChiStriker , hey yes thats right. i tought you mean this at the feet. this in the middle is to train corrcect angles by attack in the stomach.

    Best regards

  • @ChiStriker a penis, lol. no, it would represent a low punch, or a kick of the enemy.

  • Yay, it's sifu Benny! Hey I like your name, Tan Sau Ng was one of the men who actually created Wing Chun, him and Da Jung, I believe.

  • Do i have to hit the dummy with my full strength when practicing?

  • @yamakasko No, this is mostly technique based training.

  • @yamakasko yes it is technique based for practice but muscle hardening you want to go faster and harder. Eventually you will be able to break concrete blocks and your punches will hurt like hell

  • i like your vid. i like your technique i hope i can reach this level too someday. i can see where the basics fall and the advancement of technique is the combination of all the basics you learn. awesome. i like a lot. hehe

  • this is wing chun

  • looks like crane and snake fist

  • omg he is the dharma demonstration guy from lost !

  • good techniques

  • One of the best videos I've seen very well demonstrated and slowly, and great film quality too!

  • 非常好

  • Arrrgg... the cheesy music... anyway, i hope to be this proficient one of these days, right now I'm just an orange belt.

  • Where is the aggression? Kill or be killed! The true discipline lies in choosing the moment that is truly appropiate.

  • @Wykesidefruitmachine Agression is not appropriate for this. It is a Wooden dummy demonstration not a punch bag. You are confusing the purposes of these two tools.

  • @physicalcult I've yet to see a punching bag that can accomodate wing chun techniques such as these... Should agression and technique not be synonymous in this exercise? I'm fairly sure that the wood, if padded correctly could withstand such blows. Force should be factored into muscle memory as much as technique. One without the other is useless, as I'm sure you realise.

  • @Wykesidefruitmachine Yes. I agree. However, power and technique are not the same thing. This was a demonstration of the latter: of placement and alignment. Of course it is possible to train to achieve power within these techniques but the emphasis is different. I agree that the wooden dummy can be used for both but it is important to perceive the difference between the two and to identify what the specific aims are. It is not wrong to do a demonstration of the techniques without using power.

  • Tigerclaw can be a good dummy. MY sifu has one that he has had for 16 years. Apart from wear-and-tear, it is very durable. I bought mine from them. Mine once fall over on the floor right on the arms while I was trying to move it. It was fine. 2 of my WC brothers bought the same dummy. One is fine. The other developed a crack soon after. They told him because he had already struck the dummy, they would not replace it. He would have to pay for an entirely new dummy.

  • iaM very lucky i get to train under him wish snow go away so i get back to dayton

  • this is the tiger claw wooden dummy can anyone tell me how good this product is? i'm considering purchasing it versus the 9 board laminated dummy or is the 9 board laminated type a better choice? thank you.

  • spend your money on a good product. laminated anythinng sounds cheap to me. I got mine at great lion, but your man stopped making wooden bodies. probably a total hassle. haven't heard anything about tiger claw. doesn't mean it's bad. search WC boards and see what the gen. public thinks

  • Absolutely 100% Perfect!

  • Help needed from a kind person....

@0:38 I cannot seem to grasp movements. I can do the tan sau and palm strike but everytime I kick the wooden leg, my own leg slips down it causing me to lose my balance. And everytime I do the tan sau and palmstrike and leg kick by back hunches over, and the move feels weird..?? Any help would be greatly appreciated, post advice on my comments page or via Private message.

My wooden dummy is totally awesome!!!

  • nicely done i'm half way through building my own dummy. found a log about the right size in the woods a couple of years ago planed it all down let it dry got to sand the leg down then just got to whack it on the frame i made, its taken a long time but its a labour if love. Gonna enjoy bangin it about.

  • nice, that what i'm looking to do. why pay $300+ dollars when you got an abundant of trees all around!

wtg, good luck on the project. buy a decent chisel to and wood drill, notching out the holes to except the legs, arms, stand etc will go smooth. do a search for the plans, you should get them easy. good luck!

  • @xxdjcharlierockxx every elbow and the leg got be set right and be at the right angle if not your blocks and punching every thing will be out of place if you dont bulid it right but good luck

  • i train under master benny meng in dayton ohio its best system i ever train in. in my life

  • thanks for the post i l am doing the dummy form now

  • If you watch Grandmaster Moy Yat do the dummy form,..it is exactly the same,...watch Great Grandmaster Ip Man,..it is the same....nice vid, thanks for posting..

  • @hungfayi1

You are provably right about, but this video may be a good publicity. I mean, there is so much Videos and DVD about Wing Chun and wooden dummy that somebody can't chose one at least not seen how is made. This is from the 2 DVD about Wooden Dummy by Benny Meng and I can say from my personal view that is the best DVD tutorial about that someone can find.

  • i gree

  • fantastic!

  • Is that Ando from Heroes?

  • bad music, bad management of the body, only the sequence is correct ...

  • i hope you consider that everyone adepts the form to his own body .

The movements can be the same yet the posture and all is something personal.

If it looks different it is not wrong by definition

    Regards ,

  • lose the music guys...please

  • I wish there was one of him doing it much slower, and I wish there was one of him doing it with an over head view.

  • Thank you. Here is not my video, but it is sifu Benny Meng, one of the sifu I like best.

Recently, I cannot find anybody to film me, so it is hard to show my true punch. And I am a modest person, so I don't want to show my humble skill :)

  • I can see the Chi flowing through your body !(I'm the first one giving you 5 Stars (°_°). Please show us a true Wing Chun Punch, that you mentioned in the Emin Boztepe Video.
