I personally don't care if people breast feed in front of me.I have no objection to seeing boobies..seen one pair, seen em all. However, out of RESPECT to others, I think it would be appropiate to keep as modest as possible when breastfeeding in public.I think its rude to just whip your tit out in front of people no matter what the purpose.I've seen plenty of ladies breastfeeding without exposing anything and not covering up their babies.
ThumbsUp! to the courageous mother. The whole issue is so incredible. If their concerns had been honest then the staff could easily have appropriated a comfy place in their office for her. But their attitude was an insult rather than giving the apprpritate honor to caring mothership.

Yay for this courageous woman. Even though she was extremely upset, she stood her ground until baby was finished eating. It's not "breast" feeding, it's "baby" feeding, and the sooner we get that point, we can move on to a gentler way of rearing children.
I am glad I have never had this problem except for a friend whom was a stripper asked me how could I breast feed in public I laughed and said are you serious u strip and you are asking me that question.I lover her to death but DUH
Every women should be allowed to breastfeed whereever, but she should also be considerate of the people around her too. A towel could have solved the problem. The baby I am sure wouldn't care....
A towel on a hot summer day WOULD be a problem. And yes some babies DO care. My daughter never allowed something to be put over her. She would pull it off or throw a fit and refuse to eat.
Btw, have you ever noticed how most reports, obviously not this one, women are discreet about breastfeeding and don't show anything, yet people still bitch and complain? It's not the moms that need to be considerate, it's the people with the stupid problems that need to be considerate.
If your baby knows what boob it wants to suck on you shouldnt be breast feeding. That baby is not going to know....He is too young.
I think that breast feeding in public is absolutely FINE....but when you drop your WHOLE BATHING SUIT TOP .....that is disrespectful to a lot of others too. If you want to be respected by breast feeding in public....you have to respect the other people around you.
Breastfeeding has benefits for as long as it's done, being able to ask for a certain breast doesn't matter.
She did NOT drop her entire top, she dropped one side so that she could feed from that breast. What she did is not disrespectful, she fed her baby. She had to lower part of her top to do so. If you are so concerned with seeing a woman's breast why aren't you protesting magazines, TV, and the latest fashions? They show much more than most moms show while BFing.
I am not concerned with anything. But she was making a HUGE DEAL about of being asked to put a simple towel over it. Millions of women are told to cover up daily and they do not shake and cry......its not that big of a deal....
She could have simply told them it is alright, if they have a problem don't look, not make a scene....and leave....
Uh, yeah she made a big deal out of it because some women are tired of being treated like shit because they are breastfeeding. It has been said millions of times before, in a society where nudity and sex is everywhere it's horrible to treat breastfeeding women like they are treated. It's women that stand up to society that initiate change. You want to sit around and do nothing, fine, but don't criticise women that choose to do something about the problem.
Uhm excuse me, I never said it was WRONG to do it in public. I think it's cool that she did....whatever....but I am getting tired of people complaining about every little thing to make a fucking news story and be on TV....I plan on breastfeeding and I damn well plan to do it in public...SO EXCUSE ME! I also wouldn't make a huge deal about it to get some publicity. This has no reason to be on the news...
What benifits do you think she is getting by being on the news except to make a point about breastfeeding in public!! Its just a breast!!! get over yourself! Its not her fault she made the news lol!! You obviously dont have kids or hasnt Breast fed! because you wouldnt be saying those things. Everyone says the things you did untill they experience it themselfs
@Jessss2008 straw that broke the camels back. women are already dealing with a deluge of hormones related to pregnancy. some are border-line to fullblown post partam depression. just let them feed their babies without coping crap for it. jeez.
Well I didn't know a woman's boob could make you blush... seen as they're plastered all over the television, magazines and other advertising forms. Let me get this right, you can't breastfeed in public, but can have a pornographic magazine is on the shelves in the supermarket for all to see? Not to mention breasts were designed to feed a baby, not sell a car... go figure!
I am a female and I have two children ages 15 and 12. I NEVER wanted to breast feed my children. I figured that that is for cattle and other animals. Children are just fine without it.
I support your right to not breastfeed, but your animal comment makes you look like an ignorant, idiot.
Obviously you aren't very educated or you would know that humans are also animals. We are mammals just like cattle, apes, felines. We are mammals because we were made to breastfeed (among other reasons). To deny that thats what our breasts were made for shows how ignorant you are.
I'm blocking you because I doubt anything that comes out of your mouth will make you sound any less stupid.
Hope You know that if you breastfeed babies to an age of 3-5 your child will gett better skin and mucle and such it´s so much better then all the sugar you are putting in there food, that you not even meaning to do.
That doesn't even begin to cover the benefits of extended breastfeeding. Study after study has proven that all of the benefits (for mom and baby) of breastfeeding an infant will continue for as long as a woman breastfeeds her child.
@lany101 Hey, guess what, humans are MAMMALS! We're just "civilized' animals (although we're not always very civilized. Your children missed out on getting the best food available for them because of your ignorance. And BTW, it's been proven that breastfed children have higher IQs, less allergies, and are sick less often so I'd say NO they aren't fine without it!
It's so sad that seing a women feed her child could make people feel uncomfortable. It is a beautiful thing to see life grow and nourish the way nature intended. We live in a very odd society and world, for people to get upset at the sight of a baby eating. I hope that as our society grows people's outlook on this changes.
Way I see it, I KNOW my rights! Couple months ago Iwas at the emergency room with my older daughter and I was breastfeeding my son when a female guard came up to me and threw a hospital gown at me and told me to "cover up" I told her to put a bag on her face and if she wanted a lawsuit against her and the hospital (of ALL places) then pursue the issue, other wise my son and I were NOT covering up! She turned around and walked away. Hell it was not like anyone could really see anything anyways!
I never had a single problem whilst breastfeeding my child in public. That was nearly 4 yrs ago. Maybe it's because the U.K highly encourage it. But it's still not fair to deny a woman to breastfeed in public.... and why? what reason could they possibly give? " I'm saving seeing a pair of boobs until I'm 25"
It's just stupid, immature bitching, and usually find it's men that have a problem with it. In this day and age, breasts are used to sell cars etc...
Four days and then you gave up? On average it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks for a baby and mother to completely get the hang of breastfeeding and considering how many FREE resources there are that could have helped you and your baby learn, I can only say that that is sad. Most women I've heard cry "I *couldn't* breastfeed" are the ones that didn't seek help, talk to an LC, midwife, doctor, and didn't look for a solution. So when you say "I couldn't", really... You "just didn't".
Thats proper nasty don't you sit and judge other mothers if its up to them to breastfeed or to give formula i think you should butt out your purpose is to upload this video and talk about public breastfeeding not sit and pick at everyone who did this and that GROW UP its not your child so WHY are you concerned!
People have come HERE to judge breastfeeding mothers, and you have the nerve to tell me I can't speak up about ignorant people that don't even bother to educate themselves? You don't have the right to tell me what my purpose is, and you don't have the right to comment on a video *I* uploaded and tell me I can't speak my mind. I'm sick of ignorant people spouting off crap and I have every right to speak my mind about it. You don't like it.... go elsewhere.
Formula is not and never will be as good as breastmilk. It's like comparing a healhty diet of all the food groups to a diet of mac'n'cheese. It's just not good enough, but hey... if you have to FF, then you have to FF.
OKAY, so I usually don't comment in arguments like these, but I'm very passionate about this subject. I think it's insane the way that breastfeeding mothers are treated these days. It's natural and should not be looked at as inappropriate. HOWEVER, I breastfed my son for 3 months. My milk was never adequate. He wasn't gaining the proper amount of weight and was generally unhappy. My doctor told me to pump every two hours for two days to build my milk supply and I did this every weekend for all
for all three of those months. Please do not judge moms who cannot breastfeed. I did try and I did educate myself. I had a healthy diet myself and took the proper herbal supplements to no avail. I don't think my son has suffered.
I do not judge moms who cannot breastfeed, but to only try for four days??? Seriously! If you only gave a new job 4 days, or a relationship 4 days, or a medication 4 days or... (list goes on) Then you don't have the right to say "I couldn't...." because you *didn't* try! We call people like those quiters. If you truly can't breastfeed, then fine, thats ok, but if you didn't even put in any effort, then you don't get to act like you gave it your all and just couldn't do it!
I breastfed for 10 months. I fought to continue. I used herbs, hospital pumps, even Reglan to increase supply, I still had had to stop at 10 mo. I don't expect every mom to try so hard, but I expect those who didn't really try to be honest, rather than BS about how they went through SO much effort for *__* WHOLE days! If you want people to stop judging, then don't lie, BE HONEST! Just say "It was too hard, so I gave up."
You know I had a friend's who's mother went through this same thing with her. She tried for almost a whole week with her getting almost no food. She pumped and pumped but nothing was there. Her body was just not producing it. Her baby was crying all of the time from hunger, eventully she fed her formula, and she has never looked back. Sometimes it's the best thing you can do. Don't feel guilty or worrying about people judging you. Do what is best for your baby.
Breast feeding is natural and has been performed in public for thousands of years, and also millions with other mammals. The reason for milk in the breast is for the baby. Maybe the reason why people think it's so repulsive is because they have been brain washed to think that way. It's natural and should be done more often. Get over it.
In oz we have rooms in shops where you can go 2 breastfeed, but when all you can do is sit in a little cubicle and stare at the wall why go in there? I get alot of dirty looks from people while feeding, the strangest part is its a lot of old women that look at me funny, when back in there day they would have done it. im only 23, and breastfed all my kids, good luck to whoever whats to do it.we need more people doing it so the prudes out there have no choice but 2 accept it
i cant believe how ignorant people are. its really sad that breasts always have to be looked at as sexual objects. the reason women have breasts is to feed babies! not to make people feel anything of a sexual nature.
Ya know, anybody who objects to it, should be charged with harrasment. Anybody who doesn't agree, should go in a bathroom, or throw a blanket over themselves when they have lunch, or maybe go get breast fed themselves....
I witnessed a public feeding, and thought that's the way to take care of your baby, and when somebody complained, I told them to mind their own damn business, before they upset the baby....
why the hell should she have to go inside or cover up! Seriously how prude can you get. No wonder so many kids in this country grow up with such warped sexuality.
How rediculeous to ask her to cover that baby! I don't like to eat with a blanket over my head, making it hard for me to breath as the stale air continues to be warmed by body heat. It is just a boob... and it was being used for the purpose it was created for. I bet there were more women there showing more skin than the nursing mom, but because their cleavage was "sexy" not functional there was no issue! I'm so sick of the double standard. Boobs are to feed kids... NOT to make men happy.
Most likely there were parents amongst the complainers, thinking their playing kids should be protected against seeing this baby being fed. It's awful that so many people do not know better in our days. All children should be breastfed (whenever possible), and babies should be fed whenever they need it, wherever they are. Not hidden in a bathroom stall or covered! The perversion in this is the ignorance and prejudice that makes it difficult to be in public when you have a baby who is breastfed!
I'm on my third child (2nd to be breastfed) and I find that I'm a lot more self consious than the first time because when Janie (my youngest) was 4 days old, there were foul remarks made toward us even though Janie and I were, literally, covered from the top of our head to our toes. It's difficult enough, as it is, to breastfeed when we're out and about and I have to sit in my van to feed Janie... it also makes my husband antsy to have me even Kind of "exposed" in front of our therapist.
I'm shocked over this video, and for sure of your comment! I'm so SORRY that you have had to feel like that because of such awful ignorance! There's nothing more natural than a mother feeding her baby and if somebody turns that into a problem, the problem is in their head! It is sad how many natural things are being turned into something else in the US these days!
Grow up people please! Breastfeeding should be done more often and in public so people get over it! Cover the baby with a towel in hot weather? ridiculous.
I for one won't feed my baby in the bathroom because I myself would not eat in the bathroom. That's disgusting. Besides, they were at a waterpark and I've seen far more "offensive" things at waterparks! Haven't we all?
Babies need to eat. I am offended when I see a woman giving a baby formula. God did not intend for anyone - ESPECIALLY fragile infant lives - to eat powder! BREASTFEEDING (NURSING) IS WHAT MAKES US MAMMALS!!!!
It is so sad that so many does not breastfeed their kids, which is so important for protection against disease, because of stupid prejudice and ignorance. People should know better in our days! It's ridiculous too how some people even manage to mix sexuality into such natural things...
maybe you should not get offended so easily. stop being so selfish and naieve. i could not nurse my 2nd son, because i had no milk. my oldest son was barely a year. i was exhausted, and so my milk never came in. what was i supposed to do, let him starve? i formula fed both my boys, at least for a time.they are both healthy and smart and adorable.so watch what you say.its wrong to assume that women formula feed their babies cause they are lazy or ignorant.you are the ignorant one for thinking so
how the hell are breasts THE MOST SEXUAL BODY PART!! they ARE MADE FOR FEEDING INFANTS!!!! not for you males play things!!! A WOMANS BREASTS ARE NOT A SEXUAL OBJECT, that are dirty and made to cover up and be ashamed of.
GOD created womens BREASTS, as were they created for all female animals, for feeding infants and NO OTHER PURPOSE, the fact that men are attracted to them is odd if you think about it, GET OVER yourselves and your prudishness. and bite my ass. your lucky we cover them at all.
comparing a MOTHER breastfeeding her BABY to perverts, people performing sexual acts, and having sexual intercourse in public is WAY OUT OF LINE. if you actually believe for one second that they are even remotely equal you are crazy! you people must realize they are not trying to get a man, what man would find a woman's breast sexually attractive when a child is latched on?!? they wouldn't. so it makes no sense. you all need to get over yourselves, ITS THE LAW THAT THEY CAN BRAESTFEED IN PUBLIC!
Have you ever breastfed??? I have and places where I live do NOT have facilities for brestfeeding. Also a Bathroom is a very uncomfortable place to try and breastfeed in and disgusting. Where would you expect them to sit? on the toilet OH that is comfortable! Dont judge people for feeding there child!
Lots of babies won't feed under blankets. And anyway a lot of people don't like being made to feel that they should be ashamed of this utterly natural process, and that therefore they should not need to cover themselves. You're right that public breastfeeding is more accepted in other cultures than in America, but wrong if you think that means we should work to KEEP it that way.
Baby has a right to eat. I see much worse when I go out and there are a bunch of skanky girls walking home from Jr. High. She should be commended for giving her baby breastmilk. I was sad when I couldn't provide milk for my daughter. All of you who say that she shouldn't be allowed to bf in public should be ashamed.
sometimes it's hard to find someplace - if it's hot you don't want to throw a towel over the baby's head making it hard to breathe. I don't have a problem with it - I can't believe someone actually complained instead of just moving away. Geesh... her infant was hungry - give her a break.
Way to go. I see more tits in a high school and on 7-11 newpaper stands than in breastfeeding. The only reason people see perversion is because of the sensorship passed down. My sister-in-law breastfeeds infront of her kids and as a result they dont gawk or think badly when they see a woman breastfeeding, they just say, "look at the baby", as it should be. Congrats for feeding your kid as is the responsible thing to do.
She could be more aware of other peoples feelings and cover-up...people who are uncomfortable could also just look away, I plan on breastfeeding my child in public but I am going to be considerate of other peoples feelings and cover-up...I won't feel comfortable with people gawking at me anyways. Everyone is different and I respect her right to bare her breast to feed her child, I can just understand both opinions voiced.
How come breastfed moms are asked to cover up or go into a bathroom?! Frustrating! I swear if somebody asks me to cover up while breastfeedimg my son (and I do breastfeed
) I will be sure to throw something over thier head! I have yet to be challenged publicy and I DARE anyone to do so!
What is wrong with people? She is FEEDING her baby. Grow up already. Honestly, you think you see more than you really do. The baby's head covers a lot of the breast.
I find it interesting that we have such "outrage" when a woman nurses in public, and yet it's perfectly fine for women to pose naked on magazine covers with "artfully" placed guitars or other props just barely covering up their breasts or genitals. My wife breastfeeds, does so confidently in public, and I stand behind her right to do so. She shows less skin while nursing in public than most sixteen year olds do on a normal trip to the mall. So, really, who should we be focusing on here?
Nyriko, I'm sorry but you are just clueless about this...I don't think anybody can change your mind, but I hope that you open your mind one day, and take a fresh look at this issue.
No we don't want our 6 year old boys to know that breasts are for babies. Much better to keep that secret and let them assume that breasts are there for perversion and babies should be fed cancer causing powder shit.
The amusement park worker's should have been supporting her and telling the other ignorants that it's her legal right to do so then, not joining in with the rest of the people harassing her.
The people trying to stop her should have been sued.
Imagine suggesting putting a towel over the babies head! my sn would pull it straight back off out of fear.
And making the baby cry like that, fucking aweful. It outrages me because I know many children who never benefited from breastfeeding because their mums were to scared of these kinds of reactions OR constanting having to hide away in a stinking bathroom.
Wow, I am amazed this video is still here. It was months ago that I did this interview. The reporter at Fox did a crappy job as I should have known better he would. He totally skewed my interview. Just to set a few things straight, I fed my child at the park because he got hungry while I was at the park and I feed him on cue, as is the proper way to do so. I did not cover up with a towel because there was no need, he wasn't cold.
It was a lovely 75 degrees out that day. I did not go in the bathroom, because who the heck eats there? My husband was supervising the children in the pool; I was just enjoying watching them have fun. My child was "screaming at the top of his lungs" because the guards refused to leave me alone, and it was interrupting my child's meal, which made him scream. He was not screaming when I started feeding him.
when I did this interview, I forgot how the media spins things to make drama, as I do not watch mainstream media. Basically, this country has become very sick, in that breast have become little more than sexual objects in the media and the formula companies have convinced people that chemically altered cow's milk made in a factory is somehow similar to breastmilk and OK to feed children. It is shameful how breastfeeding mothers are treated. Thanks for listening
Good for you for not giving in...it is your legal right and I think the guy spun it against you as well. Personally, the only time I have ever felt uncomfortable breastfeeding in public is when I was in Colorado.
omfg..are you serious..that is soo mad'ning. Like come on.its NATURAL-it LIFE. Go home then if you dont want to see that. Yeah..they should put a towel over their own damn heads. or just simply dont watch. That just makes them a pervert to stare the way they do. omg. COME ON !!OMG..this is my first time seeing this video.N my jaw just dropped, i was soo mad. They eat in puplic dont they. I fed my baby in public..I simply didnt care what they thought.dont let this stop you, its perfectly natural.
If she'd been a georgeous little bikini clad girl, noone would have complained. If people have a problem with public nursing, they need to learn to function with a blanket on their head. Then, they don't see it, and the baby can nurse in peace. It would be too much, aparently to ask that the complainers behave as though they are older than the feeding infant. :(
Those complainers and the employees didn't apparently think of the sensitivity and comfort of the mother and her baby, but tried to impose their own ideas! No wonder mothers change to bottlefeeding and formula feeding, only to provoke damage to their children, just for the sake of "decent" people. Blankets is not recommendable in breastfeeding, because eye-to-eye contact is an important part of a good technique. That mother should have been congratulated. Way to go Mom!
My god, OakViewGirl! You are SO right! We should all strive to be totally PC at all times, to preserve the wellbeing and sanity of complete strangers. In fact, to avoid offense in all situations, we women should take to wearing burquas and veils and speak only when spoken to. Women with small children should stay inside until they are weaned and potty trained, imagine the horror of seeing a naked baby on a changing table in public of all places.
Instead of shunning the woman and her baby they should have praised her for breastfeeding! She's a great example to all mothers! What is the world coming to that people have become so self absorbed that they think their "comfort level" is more important than a baby's? People should SUPPORT mothers like her rather than turn her away!
Why should the General public come before the comfort and wellbeing of her child? And while we are at it, I saw a few dozen sets of man boobs in that video why aren't they being asked to cover up.
Expecting the mother to be a little more discreet is not compromising the baby's comfort and well being. I guess the men with the man boobs weren't being asked to cover up because they didn't have a baby sucking on their breast,
Oh yes a baby makes it wrong and evil. Nothing sexual about Breastfeeding, nothing wrong, nothing immoral and nothing shameful. You know its this exact dumb duel standard and mentality that makes so many mothers in the US give up breastfeeding. Funny there are countries that the breast is used for what it is meant for and children are not messed for life, and men aren't ogling breasts. Our taboo creates the problem. Kill the Taboo, no more issue.
A-to the-Men! Disgusting how ppl have made breastfeeding a sexual and inappropriate ordeal...naturality in this country has cease to exist a long time ago unfortunately.
And oh Just a little FYI, have you ever breast fed a child? or attempted to Breastfeed in public? If so how many children, discreet feeding is easier said then done.
A reasonable level of comfort ? What the fuck ? Why should any adult be uncomfortable with a mother breastfeeding her baby ? Thats the primary purpose of a woman's breasts. To provide both food and comfort.
There shouldn't even have to BE a law to protect a woman's "right" to breastfeed in public. Babies need to eat just like everyone else, why not do it naturally? I wouldn't pump my baby full of the stuff found in formula.
People need to get over their problems with seeing breasts, or at least seeing breasts as sexual things rather than what they are.
OMG! Look at all those naked man tits! There must be 100 shirtless men! Oh, wait a minute, no one cares about that! Oh no, they are picking on 1 single women that is FEEDING her child naturaly! I am sorry, I am a breastfeeding mama, I am NOT willing to sit in my house all day everyday just so my baby can nurse.
there is nothing wrong with breastfeeding a baby in public.. i will not go to the restroom and nurse my son, how would you feel if you have your lunch in a public restroom??
I agree. There may be sanitary issues, as well. The law in that area is pretty clear about protecting a woman and a child's right to give and have lunch any way they like. I personally might try covering up, but that's cause I don't want people catching a glimpse of my tatas. My choice. A lot of babies get hot under those coverings. I wonder if heat exhaustion would be possible.
This annoys me no end. It seems the people complaining are the ones with the problem. Sneezing, coughing, and farting are all natural processes, too, and it would be cruel to punish for doing them in public. Nursing is just as natural and to my mind far less offensive than somebody coughing or farting next to me. Anybody who things otherwise must not be a parent or missing other such insight. We stand to watch eating in public, so why not babies nursing?
Well, I wasn't there, so I don't know how much of her breast was exposed. Personally, I don't see the big deal about seeing ANY part of a woman's breast, when being used to feed her child, but I do acknowledge that some people find it strange.
Not covering doesn't mean you're lazy. It might mean that the baby won't nurse with a blanket over his head (not unreasonable!), or that it was too hot to use a blanket, or that she just doesn't feel any shame for feeding her baby what it was meant to eat!
I can't seriously reply to someone who uses words like "fawking" and "tit". If you want to be taken seriously and not make a mockery of your defense, try sounding intelligent enough to be worth debating.
That is a totally different subject. Breastfeeding a baby in public isn't un-modest, it's just not overly prudish either. Half the girls at the pool were showing off more skin, if not breast, and they had sexual intentions.
Read my posts to myRincon. Since you think us horrible "breastfeeders" should move to Ecuador, why don't you move to Iraq. There, even women's heads are covered. I guarantee you won't see any bare breasts there. Maybe we should move in that direction, huh?
If you're not against it, then why hide it? Society needs constant positive change. Just because something is socially taboo right now (which breastfeeding isn't, but for the sake of argument)doesn't mean it should be and should always be. Should we go back to the time when it was taboo for women to work outside the home. Let's move FORWARD.
Again, what you're saying is that there is something wrong with breastfeeding. I am upset when my daughter asks a woman why there is a blanket over their child with innocent confusion. I don't want my children getting the message that there is ANYTHING wrong or shameful about breastfeeding. What pandoras box are you opening?
then that is your obligation to explain to your daughter that the woman is breast feeding and that you choose to breastfeed your child a different manner from other people.
You really have the most skewed vision of the responsibility of a parent I have ever seen. Are you aware you a raising a child that will live in the 'world'?
The most skewed ever, huh? People tend to exaggerate when their arguments are weak. What are your credentials in the responsibilities of parenting? Are you a parent? Are you an educator? Have you taken courses in child development. I am all and have done all of the above. My children are amazing and I receive compliments on how well-rounded, bright, mature, and disciplined they are for their ages. My children are a gift to this 'world'.
I am fascinated by it. It's an amazing thing that a woman's body can create the perfect food for her baby. Ironically enough, I found this site while looking up directions to make a Hooter Hider for a friend. I totally do not understand your analogy. I said that sex has potentially "bad" consequences. Breastfeeding does not. You don't "shelter" your child from sex, you teach them about it in developmentally appropriate ways. You certainly don't expose your three year old to it.
maybe you all misunderstood me. I never said I am disgusted by breasts, I like them very much. It's the way our society dictates the way we present them. I grew up in Germany where breasts have no meaning, the last nude beach my parents took me to, I was 12. In America it's not heard of and would be shunned, but not in Europe. When in Rome, do as the romans do!
The point is you don't need a towel to be discreet. I nursed both my children without blankets and most of the time people didn't even know I was nursing. They'd come up and start talking to me and realize ten minutes later what was going on. I watched friends nursing in their bathing suits the other day and nothing was exposed that shouldn't have been. Their bikinis covered all the same parts that the babies' heads did.
vmlinux is obviously someone who doesn't knwo the difference between appropriate and inappropriate. It is inappropriate to even think about children they way you explained. It's inappropriate how you brought that up as if you are a pedofile, it's inappropriate that you even post on an off topic subject in a disscussion area. Keep your pedofile ways to yourself!
I assume you never breastfed your children or your wife, who says they have to do it in private, I don't see you covering up your face to eat. I'm sure you have no problem looking at breast in porn videos or on women
If you're so disturbed by it, why are you looking up videos of it. It doesn't seem normal to look up something that you're disgusted by. How'd you end up on this site anyways? You must have sought it out.
Mom is boss, but a good mom knows her child's developmental needs and sets boundaries accordingly. I expect my three year to wait until we get home for lunch, but a newborn baby is not capable of understaning "wait". A newborn is learning whether or not his/her needs will be responded to. It is a mother's job to teach the baby that the world will respond. Waiting comes much later.
Actually, no, I know many women who are just as ignorant about breastfeeding as men. I actually know someone who stopped breastfeeding because it felt sexual to her. Talk about a distorted culture that makes women feel uncomfortable doing what God intended them to.
I suppose so... even though God intended for people to have sex and procreate...yet some how people feel they are unable to do it in public... what a WARPED CULTURE! HUH! I'll tell ya!
"Ignorance is preferable to error, and he is less remote from the truth who believes nothing than he who believes what is wrong."- Thomas Jefferson
Sex does not equal breastfeeding. Breastfeeding equals eating and bonding between a mother and her child. It is a warped culture to sexualize something so innocent and pure.
sex is innocent and pure too... this culture warps sex into something dirty and unapproachable. So using the idea that breastfeeding is "innocent" is non point
Sex can be "pure", but often it's not. Sex has consequences that only responsible adults should undertake (unwanted pregnancy and disease). That is why sex is not something we do in public. Children shouldn't be made curious by witnessing it and others shouldn't be tempted. There is NOTHING wrong with breastfeeding. All its consequences are POSITIVE. I am upset when women shelter my daughter from breastfeeding. I don't want her to feel any shame in her own body.
And obviously you have gotten the message of shame when it comes to your own breasts. Interesting that you find their primary function to be sexual. I wonder why.
You coould make the same arguemment that sexual intercoarse should be ok in public. Aftur all its natchural and so beyutifull becuz it makes a baby! And if you dont want to watch, dont watch!
Sorry, but these laws are pretty recent, and there are more being passed all the time! It would be pretty stupid to go back and change the laws when they were JUST passed, wouldn't it?
It's funny because from a mother's perspective it's the other way around. Seems like you expect the world to revolve around you and your irrational lack of comfort around the female breast. By the way, it's quite easy to nurse without a blanket and be discreet. Unless, of course you're making a concerted effort.
Actually, no, it's not. There are actually laws that protect mothers from being asked to cover up or leave a public area while breastfeeding. In some states, there are even laws that allow the mother to charge anyone who DOES ask her to leave with harassment!
Law protects a woman's right to breastfeed in public because there is no shame in doing so. You are quite passionate- why do breasts make you so uncomfortable? What do you consider to be the primary function of a breast?
Watch the video. She was watching her other child who was swimming, thus it was hot. AND much more convenient for the "many people" to avert their eyes. And for those of you who suggest breastfeeding in a bathroom; how about you eat your lunch in their. Disgusting. A good mom puts her baby's needs first.
Why should a child have to be smothered with a blanket in the heat. How about a put a blanket over your face next time you're trying to eat out in the hot sun.
I can't believe people have a problem with women feeding their babies. My son hated having a blanket over his head - would you want to eat like that!? Wake up and realize that the primary purpose of breasts is feeding our children NOT sexual pleasure. Grow up and teach your children the true purpose instead of that they are dirty - and yes I'm an AMERICAN!
Of course it's okay to breastfeed in a restaurant. Restaurants are for eating. I'm not going to teach my children that there's shame in the natural act of breastfeeding. And I'm American, too.
Good God...American society makes me absolutely sick. Thank God I live in Canada, where things like this almost NEVER happen. I've received nothing but GOOD comments about nursing my son, and I have heard VERY few stories about moms being asked to cover up.
Come on, USA, time to grow up like your big brothers and sisters to the North!
While Canada doesn't have as big a problem with anti-breastfeeders as the US does, it does have a few of them. Look up the YMCA incident.
That said, I am in total support of public breastfeeding. When I was a baby, I wouldn't nurse under a blanket, so I don't think breastfeeding moms need to cover up.
So to whoever says nursing moms need to go to the bathroom or cover up? Why don't YOU eat in a public restroom or put a blanket over YOUR head?!
right on -hshimamo-. why dont THEY eat in a bathroom AND put a blanket on ther head. lol GOOD DAMN POINT!!! GO BREASTFEEDING MOMS!!!!
I WILL BREAST FEED MY BABY AND I DARE YOU TO COMPLAIN! (when i have them im only 17)
I totally agree -shrinkingviolett-
"No we don't want our 6 year old boys to know that breasts are for babies. Much better to keep that secret and let them assume that breasts are there for perversion and babies should be fed cancer causing powder shit."
it is disgusting that breastfeeding mothers are treated like this. People are so anal about the most ridiculous things. Its just a breast for goodness sake- it is not being pulled out for sexual purposes- its being used for its natural intention. If it makes people uncomfortable, that is their problem. It is a womans legal right to breastfeed wherever she needs to.Things like this just make me sick- get over yourselves people- there are greater issues in the world to concern yourselves with.
I can see by your profile that you being ignorant and idiotic is a daily thing so I will try to speak slowly so you will be able to understand...Babies need to eat just like you do. They can't wait until everyone else around them feels comfortable enough to allow its mother to feed them.
I don't think its right for you or anyone else to ask women not to feed their child just because you are too much of a pervert to wanna look away or too much of a pin head to understand that a mother room/lounge would create a place for women to breastfeed so jerks like you won't throw a fit when a innocent baby needs to eat. I also said that if there isn't a room like that available then the mother can prepare a bottle of breast milk before she leaves.
And if they don't want women breastfeeding in public, then the amusement park should have a mother room or lounge like babie r us and nordstom does. No one wants to go into a stinking bathroom.

But their attitude was an insult rather than giving the apprpritate honor to caring mothership.

breastfeeding is okay legal anywhere,,,
no need to be illegal

Yay for this courageous woman. Even though she was extremely upset, she stood her ground until baby was finished eating. It's not "breast" feeding, it's "baby" feeding, and the sooner we get that point, we can move on to a gentler way of rearing children.

This video is very disrespectful.
Every women should be allowed to breastfeed whereever, but she should also be considerate of the people around her too. A towel could have solved the problem. The baby I am sure wouldn't care....
Jessss2008 3 years ago
A towel on a hot summer day WOULD be a problem. And yes some babies DO care. My daughter never allowed something to be put over her. She would pull it off or throw a fit and refuse to eat.
Btw, have you ever noticed how most reports, obviously not this one, women are discreet about breastfeeding and don't show anything, yet people still bitch and complain? It's not the moms that need to be considerate, it's the people with the stupid problems that need to be considerate.
Aleandria 3 years ago 3
Respect goes both ways.
Jessss2008 3 years ago
Breastfeeding has benefits for as long as it's done, being able to ask for a certain breast doesn't matter.
She did NOT drop her entire top, she dropped one side so that she could feed from that breast. What she did is not disrespectful, she fed her baby. She had to lower part of her top to do so. If you are so concerned with seeing a woman's breast why aren't you protesting magazines, TV, and the latest fashions? They show much more than most moms show while BFing.
Aleandria 2 years ago
I am not concerned with anything. But she was making a HUGE DEAL about of being asked to put a simple towel over it. Millions of women are told to cover up daily and they do not shake and cry......its not that big of a deal....
She could have simply told them it is alright, if they have a problem don't look, not make a scene....and leave....
Jessss2008 2 years ago 2
Uh, yeah she made a big deal out of it because some women are tired of being treated like shit because they are breastfeeding. It has been said millions of times before, in a society where nudity and sex is everywhere it's horrible to treat breastfeeding women like they are treated. It's women that stand up to society that initiate change. You want to sit around and do nothing, fine, but don't criticise women that choose to do something about the problem.
Aleandria 2 years ago
Uhm excuse me, I never said it was WRONG to do it in public. I think it's cool that she did....whatever....but I am getting tired of people complaining about every little thing to make a fucking news story and be on TV....I plan on breastfeeding and I damn well plan to do it in public...SO EXCUSE ME! I also wouldn't make a huge deal about it to get some publicity. This has no reason to be on the news...
*sigh* Americans.... 8-)

Well I didn't know a woman's boob could make you blush... seen as they're plastered all over the television, magazines and other advertising forms. Let me get this right, you can't breastfeed in public, but can have a pornographic magazine is on the shelves in the supermarket for all to see? Not to mention breasts were designed to feed a baby, not sell a car... go figure!
amyj86 3 years ago 6
I am a female and I have two children ages 15 and 12. I NEVER wanted to breast feed my children. I figured that that is for cattle and other animals. Children are just fine without it.
lany101 3 years ago
I support your right to not breastfeed, but your animal comment makes you look like an ignorant, idiot.
Obviously you aren't very educated or you would know that humans are also animals. We are mammals just like cattle, apes, felines. We are mammals because we were made to breastfeed (among other reasons). To deny that thats what our breasts were made for shows how ignorant you are.
I'm blocking you because I doubt anything that comes out of your mouth will make you sound any less stupid.
Aleandria 3 years ago
Hope You know that if you breastfeed babies to an age of 3-5 your child will gett better skin and mucle and such it´s so much better then all the sugar you are putting in there food, that you not even meaning to do.
korpamoen 2 years ago
That doesn't even begin to cover the benefits of extended breastfeeding. Study after study has proven that all of the benefits (for mom and baby) of breastfeeding an infant will continue for as long as a woman breastfeeds her child.
Aleandria 2 years ago

Hell it was not like anyone could really see anything anyways!
momoflogan 3 years ago 4

cranterny 3 years ago 2
I never had a single problem whilst breastfeeding my child in public. That was nearly 4 yrs ago. Maybe it's because the U.K highly encourage it. But it's still not fair to deny a woman to breastfeed in public.... and why? what reason could they possibly give? " I'm saving seeing a pair of boobs until I'm 25"
It's just stupid, immature bitching, and usually find it's men that have a problem with it. In this day and age, breasts are used to sell cars etc...
amyj86 3 years ago 2
Four days and then you gave up? On average it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks for a baby and mother to completely get the hang of breastfeeding and considering how many FREE resources there are that could have helped you and your baby learn, I can only say that that is sad. Most women I've heard cry "I *couldn't* breastfeed" are the ones that didn't seek help, talk to an LC, midwife, doctor, and didn't look for a solution. So when you say "I couldn't", really... You "just didn't".
Aleandria 3 years ago
Thats proper nasty don't you sit and judge other mothers if its up to them to breastfeed or to give formula i think you should butt out your purpose is to upload this video and talk about public breastfeeding not sit and pick at everyone who did this and that GROW UP its not your child so WHY are you concerned!
demongal190 3 years ago
People have come HERE to judge breastfeeding mothers, and you have the nerve to tell me I can't speak up about ignorant people that don't even bother to educate themselves? You don't have the right to tell me what my purpose is, and you don't have the right to comment on a video *I* uploaded and tell me I can't speak my mind. I'm sick of ignorant people spouting off crap and I have every right to speak my mind about it. You don't like it.... go elsewhere.
Aleandria 3 years ago
Formula is not and never will be as good as breastmilk. It's like comparing a healhty diet of all the food groups to a diet of mac'n'cheese. It's just not good enough, but hey... if you have to FF, then you have to FF.
Aleandria 3 years ago
OKAY, so I usually don't comment in arguments like these, but I'm very passionate about this subject. I think it's insane the way that breastfeeding mothers are treated these days. It's natural and should not be looked at as inappropriate. HOWEVER, I breastfed my son for 3 months. My milk was never adequate. He wasn't gaining the proper amount of weight and was generally unhappy. My doctor told me to pump every two hours for two days to build my milk supply and I did this every weekend for all
nmmomma23 3 years ago
for all three of those months. Please do not judge moms who cannot breastfeed. I did try and I did educate myself. I had a healthy diet myself and took the proper herbal supplements to no avail. I don't think my son has suffered.
nmmomma23 3 years ago 2
I do not judge moms who cannot breastfeed, but to only try for four days??? Seriously! If you only gave a new job 4 days, or a relationship 4 days, or a medication 4 days or... (list goes on) Then you don't have the right to say "I couldn't...." because you *didn't* try! We call people like those quiters. If you truly can't breastfeed, then fine, thats ok, but if you didn't even put in any effort, then you don't get to act like you gave it your all and just couldn't do it!
Aleandria 3 years ago
I breastfed for 10 months. I fought to continue. I used herbs, hospital pumps, even Reglan to increase supply, I still had had to stop at 10 mo. I don't expect every mom to try so hard, but I expect those who didn't really try to be honest, rather than BS about how they went through SO much effort for *__* WHOLE days! If you want people to stop judging, then don't lie, BE HONEST! Just say "It was too hard, so I gave up."
Aleandria 3 years ago
You know I had a friend's who's mother went through this same thing with her. She tried for almost a whole week with her getting almost no food. She pumped and pumped but nothing was there. Her body was just not producing it. Her baby was crying all of the time from hunger, eventully she fed her formula, and she has never looked back. Sometimes it's the best thing you can do. Don't feel guilty or worrying about people judging you. Do what is best for your baby.
kleotide 3 years ago

Ya know, anybody who objects to it, should be charged with harrasment. Anybody who doesn't agree, should go in a bathroom, or throw a blanket over themselves when they have lunch, or maybe go get breast fed themselves....
I witnessed a public feeding, and thought that's the way to take care of your baby, and when somebody complained, I told them to mind their own damn business, before they upset the baby....
bxlxix69 3 years ago
why the hell should she have to go inside or cover up! Seriously how prude can you get. No wonder so many kids in this country grow up with such warped sexuality.
wexlovedxbarney 3 years ago
How rediculeous to ask her to cover that baby! I don't like to eat with a blanket over my head, making it hard for me to breath as the stale air continues to be warmed by body heat. It is just a boob... and it was being used for the purpose it was created for. I bet there were more women there showing more skin than the nursing mom, but because their cleavage was "sexy" not functional there was no issue! I'm so sick of the double standard. Boobs are to feed kids... NOT to make men happy.
mwhill0730 3 years ago
Most likely there were parents amongst the complainers, thinking their playing kids should be protected against seeing this baby being fed. It's awful that so many people do not know better in our days. All children should be breastfed (whenever possible), and babies should be fed whenever they need it, wherever they are. Not hidden in a bathroom stall or covered! The perversion in this is the ignorance and prejudice that makes it difficult to be in public when you have a baby who is breastfed!
peapeam 3 years ago 4
I'm on my third child (2nd to be breastfed) and I find that I'm a lot more self consious than the first time because when Janie (my youngest) was 4 days old, there were foul remarks made toward us even though Janie and I were, literally, covered from the top of our head to our toes. It's difficult enough, as it is, to breastfeed when we're out and about and I have to sit in my van to feed Janie... it also makes my husband antsy to have me even Kind of "exposed" in front of our therapist.

I'm shocked over this video, and for sure of your comment! I'm so SORRY that you have had to feel like that because of such awful ignorance! maybe you should not get offended so easily. stop being so selfish and naieve. i could not nurse my 2nd son, because i had no milk. my oldest son was barely a year. i was exhausted, and so my milk never came in. what was i supposed to do, let him starve? i formula fed both my boys, at least for a time.they are both healthy and smart and adorable.so watch what you say.its wrong to assume that women formula feed their babies cause they are lazy or ignorant.you are the ignorant one for thinking so

comparing a MOTHER breastfeeding her BABY to perverts, people performing sexual acts, and having sexual intercourse in public is WAY OUT OF LINE. if you actually believe for one second that they are even remotely equal you are crazy! you people must realize they are not trying to get a man, what man would find a woman's breast sexually attractive when a child is latched on?!? they wouldn't. so it makes no sense. you all need to get over yourselves, ITS THE LAW THAT THEY CAN BRAESTFEED IN PUBLIC!
thatmoviechick16 3 years ago 5

Where would you expect them to sit? on the toilet OH that is comfortable! Dont judge people for feeding there child!
andaigle03 3 years ago 7
Lots of babies won't feed under blankets. And anyway a lot of people don't like being made to feel that they should be ashamed of this utterly natural process, and that therefore they should not need to cover themselves. You're right that public breastfeeding is more accepted in other cultures than in America, but wrong if you think that means we should work to KEEP it that way.
Isncee 3 years ago 2
Baby has a right to eat. I see much worse when I go out and there are a bunch of skanky girls walking home from Jr. High. She should be commended for giving her baby breastmilk.

Imagine suggesting putting a towel over the babies head! my sn would pull it straight back off out of fear.
And making the baby cry like that, fucking aweful. It outrages me because I know many children who never benefited from breastfeeding because their mums were to scared of these kinds of reactions OR constanting having to hide away in a stinking bathroom.
shrinkingviolett 4 years ago 2
Wow, I am amazed this video is still here. It was months ago that I did this interview. The reporter at Fox did a crappy job as I should have known better he would. He totally skewed my interview. Just to set a few things straight, I fed my child at the park because he got hungry while I was at the park and I feed him on cue, as is the proper way to do so. I did not cover up with a towel because there was no need, he wasn't cold.
zensven42 4 years ago

Thanks for listening
zensven42 4 years ago

jadedangyle 4 years ago 2
Those complainers and the employees didn't apparently think of the sensitivity and comfort of the mother and her baby, but tried to impose their own ideas! No wonder mothers change to bottlefeeding and formula feeding, only to provoke damage to their children, just for the sake of "decent" people. Blankets is not recommendable in breastfeeding, because eye-to-eye contact is an important part of a good technique. That mother should have been congratulated. Way to go Mom!
CagalliLacusXD 4 years ago
there can be health concerns for the baby feeding if covered with a towel.

My god, OakViewGirl! You are SO right! We should all strive to be totally PC at all times, to preserve the wellbeing and sanity of complete strangers. In fact, to avoid offense in all situations, we women should take to wearing burquas and veils and speak only when spoken to. Women with small children should stay inside until they are weaned and potty trained, imagine the horror of seeing a naked baby on a changing table in public of all places.
reefshadow 4 years ago 2
Instead of shunning the woman and her baby they should have praised her for breastfeeding! She's a great example to all mothers! What is the world coming to that people have become so self absorbed that they think their "comfort level" is more important than a baby's? People should SUPPORT mothers like her rather than turn her away!

Why should the General public come before the comfort and wellbeing of her child? And while we are at it, I saw a few dozen sets of man boobs in that video why aren't they being asked to cover up.
VAMPYRESHADOW 4 years ago
Expecting the mother to be a little more discreet is not compromising the baby's comfort and well being. I guess the men with the man boobs weren't being asked to cover up because they didn't have a baby sucking on their breast,
OakViewGirl 4 years ago
Oh yes a baby makes it wrong and evil. Nothing sexual about Breastfeeding, nothing wrong, nothing immoral and nothing shameful. You know its this exact dumb duel standard and mentality that makes so many mothers in the US give up breastfeeding. Funny there are countries that the breast is used for what it is meant for and children are not messed for life, and men aren't ogling breasts. Our taboo creates the problem. Kill the Taboo, no more issue.
VAMPYRESHADOW 4 years ago
A-to the-Men! Disgusting how ppl have made breastfeeding a sexual and inappropriate ordeal...naturality in this country has cease to exist a long time ago unfortunately.
BaybeeDoll84 4 years ago
And oh Just a little FYI, have you ever breast fed a child? or attempted to Breastfeed in public? If so how many children, discreet feeding is easier said then done.
VAMPYRESHADOW 4 years ago
Why should she have to hide what she's doing ? It aint like its unnatural.
boony25801 4 years ago
A reasonable level of comfort ? What the fuck ? Why should any adult be uncomfortable with a mother breastfeeding her baby ? Thats the primary purpose of a woman's breasts. To provide both food and comfort.
boony25801 4 years ago
There shouldn't even have to BE a law to protect a woman's "right" to breastfeed in public. Babies need to eat just like everyone else, why not do it naturally? I wouldn't pump my baby full of the stuff found in formula.
People need to get over their problems with seeing breasts, or at least seeing breasts as sexual things rather than what they are.
queenmab87 4 years ago
Hate to point this out to methuselah1618 or any of you other retarded fuckwits, but boobs are for FEEDING babies, first and foremost. End of story.
I'm waaay more offended by fat dudes sporting their man-boobs or beer guts.

OMG! Look at all those naked man tits! There must be 100 shirtless men! Oh, wait a minute, no one cares about that! Oh no, they are picking on 1 single women that is FEEDING her child naturaly! I am sorry, I am a breastfeeding mama, I am NOT willing to sit in my house all day everyday just so my baby can nurse.
guitarprincess83 4 years ago
there is nothing wrong with breastfeeding a baby in public.. i will not go to the restroom and nurse my son, how would you feel if you have your lunch in a public restroom??
keefer04 4 years ago
I wonder if heat exhaustion would be possible.
catalystmom2be 4 years ago
This annoys me no end. It seems the people complaining are the ones with the problem. Sneezing, coughing, and farting are all natural processes, too, and it would be cruel to punish for doing them in public. Nursing is just as natural and to my mind far less offensive than somebody coughing or farting next to me. Anybody who things otherwise must not be a parent or missing other such insight. We stand to watch eating in public, so why not babies nursing?
jayushkin 4 years ago
Well, I wasn't there, so I don't know how much of her breast was exposed. Personally, I don't see the big deal about seeing ANY part of a woman's breast, when being used to feed her child, but I do acknowledge that some people find it strange.
lifescholar 4 years ago
Not covering doesn't mean you're lazy. It might mean that the baby won't nurse with a blanket over his head (not unreasonable!), or that it was too hot to use a blanket, or that she just doesn't feel any shame for feeding her baby what it was meant to eat!
lifescholar 4 years ago 2
I can't seriously reply to someone who uses words like "fawking" and "tit". If you want to be taken seriously and not make a mockery of your defense, try sounding intelligent enough to be worth debating.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
That is a totally different subject. Breastfeeding a baby in public isn't un-modest, it's just not overly prudish either. Half the girls at the pool were showing off more skin, if not breast, and they had sexual intentions.
Besides, Fox is just dumb. Always has been.

Read my posts to myRincon. Since you think us horrible "breastfeeders" should move to Ecuador, why don't you move to Iraq. There, even women's heads are covered. I guarantee you won't see any bare breasts there. Maybe we should move in that direction, huh?
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
If you're not against it, then why hide it? Society needs constant positive change. Just because something is socially taboo right now (which breastfeeding isn't, but for the sake of argument)doesn't mean it should be and should always be. Should we go back to the time when it was taboo for women to work outside the home. Let's move FORWARD.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
Again, what you're saying is that there is something wrong with breastfeeding. I am upset when my daughter asks a woman why there is a blanket over their child with innocent confusion. I don't want my children getting the message that there is ANYTHING wrong or shameful about breastfeeding. What pandoras box are you opening?
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
then that is your obligation to explain to your daughter that the woman is breast feeding and that you choose to breastfeed your child a different manner from other people.
myRincon 4 years ago 2
You really have the most skewed vision of the responsibility of a parent I have ever seen. Are you aware you a raising a child that will live in the 'world'?
myRincon 4 years ago
The most skewed ever, huh? People tend to exaggerate when their arguments are weak. What are your credentials in the responsibilities of parenting? Are you a parent? Are you an educator? Have you taken courses in child development. I am all and have done all of the above. My children are amazing and I receive compliments on how well-rounded, bright, mature, and disciplined they are for their ages. My children are a gift to this 'world'.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
I am fascinated by it. It's an amazing thing that a woman's body can create the perfect food for her baby. Ironically enough, I found this site while looking up directions to make a Hooter Hider for a friend. I totally do not understand your analogy. I said that sex has potentially "bad" consequences. Breastfeeding does not. You don't "shelter" your child from sex, you teach them about it in developmentally appropriate ways. You certainly don't expose your three year old to it.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
maybe you all misunderstood me.
Coloneladdams 4 years ago
The point is you don't need a towel to be discreet. I nursed both my children without blankets and most of the time people didn't even know I was nursing. They'd come up and start talking to me and realize ten minutes later what was going on. I watched friends nursing in their bathing suits the other day and nothing was exposed that shouldn't have been. Their bikinis covered all the same parts that the babies' heads did.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
vmlinux is obviously someone who doesn't knwo the difference between appropriate and inappropriate. It is inappropriate to even think about children they way you explained. It's inappropriate how you brought that up as if you are a pedofile, it's inappropriate that you even post on an off topic subject in a disscussion area. Keep your pedofile ways to yourself!
Coloneladdams 4 years ago
Oh, but a 100 pound woman can?

If you're so disturbed by it, why are you looking up videos of it. It doesn't seem normal to look up something that you're disgusted by. How'd you end up on this site anyways? You must have sought it out.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
Mom is boss, but a good mom knows her child's developmental needs and sets boundaries accordingly. I expect my three year to wait until we get home for lunch, but a newborn baby is not capable of understaning "wait". A newborn is learning whether or not his/her needs will be responded to. It is a mother's job to teach the baby that the world will respond. Waiting comes much later.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
Are you saying that the mom is the boss and that she should ignore her child's needs? Just making sure I understand.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
What references are there to breastfeeding in the Bible? Just curious.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
We don't have to go to another country, it's legal here ;)
kwoodgrift 4 years ago 3
Actually, no, I know many women who are just as ignorant about breastfeeding as men. I actually know someone who stopped breastfeeding because it felt sexual to her. Talk about a distorted culture that makes women feel uncomfortable doing what God intended them to.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
I suppose so... even though God intended for people to have sex and procreate...yet some how people feel they are unable to do it in public... what a WARPED CULTURE! HUH! I'll tell ya!
"Ignorance is preferable to error, and he is less remote from the truth who believes nothing than he who believes what is wrong."- Thomas Jefferson
myRincon 4 years ago
Sex does not equal breastfeeding. Breastfeeding equals eating and bonding between a mother and her child. It is a warped culture to sexualize something so innocent and pure.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago 2
sex is innocent and pure too... this culture warps sex into something dirty and unapproachable. So using the idea that breastfeeding is "innocent" is non point
myRincon 4 years ago
Sex can be "pure", but often it's not. Sex has consequences that only responsible adults should undertake (unwanted pregnancy and disease). That is why sex is not something we do in public. Children shouldn't be made curious by witnessing it and others shouldn't be tempted. There is NOTHING wrong with breastfeeding. All its consequences are POSITIVE. I am upset when women shelter my daughter from breastfeeding. I don't want her to feel any shame in her own body.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
And obviously you have gotten the message of shame when it comes to your own breasts. Interesting that you find their primary function to be sexual. I wonder why.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
You coould make the same arguemment that sexual intercoarse should be ok in public. Aftur all its natchural and so beyutifull becuz it makes a baby! And if you dont want to watch, dont watch!

Well, we don't live in colonial days. We're a bit more enlightened than that now. (or, at least, SOME of us are)

Sorry, but these laws are pretty recent, and there are more being passed all the time! It would be pretty stupid to go back and change the laws when they were JUST passed, wouldn't it?
lifescholar 4 years ago
Breastfeeding a baby is a beautiful thing. Urinating is not. And I've seen many a man urinating on the side of the road. I'm sure you're one of them.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
It's funny because from a mother's perspective it's the other way around. Seems like you expect the world to revolve around you and your irrational lack of comfort around the female breast. By the way, it's quite easy to nurse without a blanket and be discreet. Unless, of course you're making a concerted effort.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
Actually, no, it's not. There are actually laws that protect mothers from being asked to cover up or leave a public area while breastfeeding. In some states, there are even laws that allow the mother to charge anyone who DOES ask her to leave with harassment!
lifescholar 4 years ago 2
Law protects a woman's right to breastfeed in public because there is no shame in doing so. You are quite passionate- why do breasts make you so uncomfortable? What do you consider to be the primary function of a breast?
kwoodgrift 4 years ago 2
Watch the video. She was watching her other child who was swimming, thus it was hot. AND much more convenient for the "many people" to avert their eyes. And for those of you who suggest breastfeeding in a bathroom; how about you eat your lunch in their. Disgusting. A good mom puts her baby's needs first.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago 2
there, not their
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
wow, you're comparing waste to breastfeeding. breastfeeding is a beautiful thing.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
Why should a child have to be smothered with a blanket in the heat. How about a put a blanket over your face next time you're trying to eat out in the hot sun.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
I can't believe people have a problem with women feeding their babies. My son hated having a blanket over his head - would you want to eat like that!? Wake up and realize that the primary purpose of breasts is feeding our children NOT sexual pleasure. Grow up and teach your children the true purpose instead of that they are dirty - and yes I'm an AMERICAN!
MrsHaz1 4 years ago
Ok so what about breast feeding in a restaurant? Is it appropriate then? Where do you draw the line?
sushimitten 4 years ago
Of course it's okay to breastfeed in a restaurant. Restaurants are for eating. I'm not going to teach my children that there's shame in the natural act of breastfeeding. And I'm American, too.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago 3
Good God...American society makes me absolutely sick. Thank God I live in Canada, where things like this almost NEVER happen. I've received nothing but GOOD comments about nursing my son, and I have heard VERY few stories about moms being asked to cover up.
Come on, USA, time to grow up like your big brothers and sisters to the North!
lifescholar 4 years ago
Not just Canada- America is about the only place with breastfeeding hangups.
kwoodgrift 4 years ago
While Canada doesn't have as big a problem with anti-breastfeeders as the US does, it does have a few of them. Look up the YMCA incident.
That said, I am in total support of public breastfeeding. When I was a baby, I wouldn't nurse under a blanket, so I don't think breastfeeding moms need to cover up.
So to whoever says nursing moms need to go to the bathroom or cover up? Why don't YOU eat in a public restroom or put a blanket over YOUR head?!

it is disgusting that breastfeeding mothers are treated like this. People are so anal about the most ridiculous things. Its just a breast for goodness sake- it is not being pulled out for sexual purposes- its being used for its natural intention. If it makes people uncomfortable, that is their problem. It is a womans legal right to breastfeed wherever she needs to.Things like this just make me sick- get over yourselves people- there are greater issues in the world to concern yourselves with.
scorpk8 4 years ago 2
I can see by your profile that you being ignorant and idiotic is a daily thing so I will try to speak slowly so you will be able to understand...Babies need to eat just like you do. They can't wait until everyone else around them feels comfortable enough to allow its mother to feed them.
star23j 4 years ago
I don't think its right for you or anyone else to ask women not to feed their child just because you are too much of a pervert to wanna look away or too much of a pin head to understand that a mother room/lounge would create a place for women to breastfeed so jerks like you won't throw a fit when a innocent baby needs to eat. I also said that if there isn't a room like that available then the mother can prepare a bottle of breast milk before she leaves.
