Nice. Is she a decapod. there is one that should run by my house soon. Frisco 1630. She ran when I was little and scared the shit out of me on a runby.
Me too, back. Let's talk about the 475. Why don't they leave the 12 inch hooter whistle (the deep toned one) on 475? it sounds cooler than the higher pitched one. But I still like it. Do you agree
Wow, I think that's the fastest I've ever seen an engine accelerate out of Cherry Hill. Aaron must've had the throttle open pretty wide for that runby!
Whats missing is the military connection,They should get together with those who collect Military vehicles and put a couple of them on board as in ww2 they moved both troops and vehicles across the USA.
I believe they had done that in the past, I forget which year, but I remember seeing photos of a train consisting of #89, a flat car with a military jeep on it, a box car and two coaches. I wish they'd do that again. It looked sharp.
The footage from about 02:05 to 02:30 is especially nice as those those are angles of the Strasburg Rail Road not usually seen. The rest is mostly standard stuff but but mostly well lit. The only two real exceptions are the redundant shots of the drving wheels and valve gear and the back lit footage at the end.
As you have the ability to add titles, those not familiar with the Rail Road migt find locations supered over the footage a big help when they visit.
The event began years ago when I and several other volunteers at the Railroad Museum expressed frustration that the Museum had permitted the 50th Anniversary of the end of WW II to pass without marking the significant contribution to that war effort mounted by America's railroads.
Just a few comments in multi-post because of the 500 character limit.
Trains & Troops is an annual event at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. The Strasburg Rail Road (please note that in its charter, Railroad is two words) is a partner with the Museum on this event.
The purpose of Trains & Troops is to educate the public on the contribution of railrods to the American military effort from the Civil War to Iraq.
Ha, just basing it off of that usually when a video has over 1,000 views (which this one does now) it usually recieves a comment or two. No big deal, it has some now. ;-)
