  • Hey, I really need help...I got a Droid 2 today and im trying to figure out how to mount it to my computer and put pictures/music on it. I have connected it to my computer by USB and dragged down the menu. I clicked "USB Connection" and a menu pops up with 4 options, PC Mode, Windows Media Sync, USB Mass Storage, and Charge Only. There is no "Mount" Option, which i have read is supposed to pop up here.

  • Oh - you, sir, are AWESOME! Thank you so much for this!

  • Thanks for the video, but rather than "send to," and I use "copy," and make a copy of the all files on my PC or external hard drive?

  • thnx man, i feel dumb now

  • this helped sooooo much! all the other videos showed the way to do it using a mac so it was confusing, because mine didnt work like that! but thanks for the video :) thumbs up! :)

  • when i plug it it it doesnt charge or show up connected, how do u do that?

  • The pull down menu on my droid says USB Connection not "connected" When I tap USB Connection it has a menu that says Portal and tools, windows media library, memory card access, and charge only. The only option that lets the computer read the device is memory card access. but after that it has no option to mount. i have a mac.

  • Fantastic. i did it! Thank you!!!!

  • thanks you are awesome!

  • Thank you! I couldn't figure it out..

  • When I press "mount" on my Droid, the computer immediately and automatically unmounts and "prepares SD card." I've tried EVERYTHING, from USB Debug mode to uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, and it never connects. Any help?

  • @PlayMadness Is the card what came with phone? Have you tried a different cable. Sounds like its disconnecting. Check the SD card too and see if it is inserted properly.

If you have a local verizon store you may want to check them out. If they want to take the phone to fix go to a satellite store aka affiliate store. At-least at mine they know more than the regular store.

Sounds like its a issue with the card or connection.

Last resort would be to back up all your data and do a hard reset.

  • @PlayMadness Were do you get a conector, to computer

for driod so i can download music, i got pretty good at downloading and

figured out how do all that , but were do you find the cord to connect

phone to your computer that fits driod ? do I have go to the cellphone

Shop, cuase I know were thier is a few but I dont know what Im buying

??/ Can anyone help me with this , I havnt had driod for that long so I dont

have alot of connectors and stuff yet

  • @PlayMadness i've got the same problem !! can anyone help ??!

  • I surfed several sites looking for an easy way to post px from my phone to pc. THANKS SO MUCH FOR MAKING IT EASY!!! Web Techs should stand up and take notice....this kind of teaching is what America wants!!

  • I searched several sites -even the droid online blog to get help w/this...iuploading px-.THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT SO PLAIN!!!! Web Techs have much to learn when educating the 'average joe' on "How To" stuff..

    Thx again!

  • thank u so much for posting this video :D

  • hey wondering if you can help me. when i connect my droid to my laptop it does the sound the sound that shows the computer has recognized it then i mount it to the lap top but nothing pops up. nothings in my computer files either.

  • VERY helpful info and took alot less time checking youtube and the users on here like yourself to explain in (detail) how to use my droid with my computer.

    -thank you!

  • Hey i called verizon and they told me nothing i already didn't know. then i called motorola, they say that it seems that my motorola droid isn't compatable with windows 7 on the laptop or something. they said it would be probly updated in the next firmware update. thanks for all the help anyways!

  • if i take out the usb how do i turn off usb storage u still never helped me there

  • Not sure if I can do much more for you at this point. The phone seams to be hung up on the usb. So again I suggest plugging it in and going to it in My Computer to see if its ejected. Just because it wasn't plugged in doesn't mean it was ejected properly.

After you eject it look in messages and make sure usb is disabled. Then go to settings and look for usb and see what it says. Hope that helps

  • thanks buddy !!

  • why is this such a headache to do...i thought this was supposed to be the best phone out there...it's impossible to get pics onto my pc without taking off the batter cover and fishing out the sd card...very disappointed in the way droid and vzw did this...ive tried everything and it doesnt work..

  • can you not send it to your photobucket brah? idk im askin.

  • Great tutorial... THANKS!!!!!!

  • Alright i got a big problem man. Just got a droid yesterday. i could mouth on my other computer but cant mount on my laptop. it mounted once on my laptop the i tryed to do it again and on my moterola droid it said "turn off USB storage" at the top where the messages are. then it said "preparing SD card" then iit just gose back to USB connected and dosnt mount to my computer... can you help me?? thanks a million

  • Try to turn off phone &restart. Then go to sd card in settings. Find unmount and make sure the sd card is unmounted. Try plugging it in to CPU and remount.

    Hope that helps

  • @DroidDummy Still the same thing happens i turned of my droid. and i started it back up. i went to settings and sd card. and it says the sd card was mounted. then i connected it to the computer and went and pressed usb connection and pressed mount and the same thing happened

  • You need to eject and UN- Mount The Phone First.

Plug it in. Go to cpu start>my computer>drive F?> Right Click> EJECT.

    Then unplug the phone.

Go to messages and shut off USB Storage and make sure the phone is UNMOUNTED.

    Restart phone.

    Thats it

You need to eject the device from your CPU 1st.

    Hope that helps

  • if its not plugged in then how would it be mounted in the first place and the same exact thing keeps happening and how to you turn off the usb storage. it only pops up when its plugged in

  • I would take the battery out then restart. If that doesn't call vz

  • @DroidDummy I have done everything that you listed above, and my Droid is still not mounting. Im pretty computer savvy, so I know Im doing it correctly, its just not connecting???

  • I love you man... you saved me a headache, Google, Motorola and Verizon want you to buy your media again, instead of transferring what you already own to your Droid.

  • Thanks so much!

  • thanks man
