Connecting Motorola Droid To Computer or PC, Mounting Droid Phone

I had the same problem, I could not find the mount button on the pull down menu

On your phone go to settings>connect to pc>default connection type>disk drive.

Hey, I really need help...I got a Droid 2 today and im trying to figure out how to mount it to my computer and put pictures/music on it. I have connected it to my computer by USB and dragged down the menu. I clicked "USB Connection" and a menu pops up with 4 options, PC Mode, Windows Media Sync, USB Mass Storage, and Charge Only. There is no "Mount" Option, which i have read is supposed to pop up here.

when i plug it it it doesnt charge or show up connected, how do u do that?

The pull down menu on my droid says USB Connection not "connected" When I tap USB Connection it has a menu that says Portal and tools, windows media library, memory card access, and charge only. The only option that lets the computer read the device is memory card access. but after that it has no option to mount. i have a mac.

When I press "mount" on my Droid, the computer immediately and automatically unmounts and "prepares SD card." I've tried EVERYTHING, from USB Debug mode to uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, and it never connects. Any help?

@PlayMadness Is the card what came with phone? Have you tried a different cable. Sounds like its disconnecting. Check the SD card too and see if it is inserted properly.

If you have a local verizon store you may want to check them out. If they want to take the phone to fix go to a satellite store aka affiliate store. At-least at mine they know more than the regular store.

Sounds like its a issue with the card or connection.

Last resort would be to back up all your data and do a hard reset.

for driod so i can download music, i got pretty good at downloading and

figured out how do all that , but were do you find the cord to connect

phone to your computer that fits driod ? do I have go to the cellphone

Shop, cuase I know were thier is a few but I dont know what Im buying

Hey i called verizon and they told me nothing i already didn't know. then i called motorola, they say that it seems that my motorola droid isn't compatable with windows 7 on the laptop or something. they said it would be probly updated in the next firmware update. thanks for all the help anyways!

Not sure if I can do much more for you at this point. The phone seams to be hung up on the usb. So again I suggest plugging it in and going to it in My Computer to see if its ejected. Just because it wasn't plugged in doesn't mean it was ejected properly.

After you eject it look in messages and make sure usb is disabled. Then go to settings and look for usb and see what it says. Hope that helps

Alright i got a big problem man. Just got a droid yesterday. i could mouth on my other computer but cant mount on my laptop. it mounted once on my laptop the i tryed to do it again and on my moterola droid it said "turn off USB storage" at the top where the messages are. then it said "preparing SD card" then iit just gose back to USB connected and dosnt mount to my computer... can you help me?? thanks a million

Try to turn off phone &restart. Then go to sd card in settings. Find unmount and make sure the sd card is unmounted. Try plugging it in to CPU and remount.

@DroidDummy Still the same thing happens i turned of my droid. and i started it back up. i went to settings and sd card. and it says the sd card was mounted. then i connected it to the computer and went and pressed usb connection and pressed mount and the same thing happened

You need to eject and UN- Mount The Phone First.

Plug it in. Go to cpu start>my computer>drive F?> Right Click> EJECT.

Then unplug the phone.

Go to messages and shut off USB Storage and make sure the phone is UNMOUNTED.

Restart phone.

Thats it

You need to eject the device from your CPU 1st.
