For the record, I WAS NOT defending a child abuser. I was saying we hope the child I was talking about can come home to her FATHER who did nothing wrong. Her mother is in jail where she belongs.
I do personally know a female perpetrator of this crime. My best friends' ex-girlfriend shook their daughter. He did nothing to his daughter but continues to fight to regain custody from the state. The mother was mentally ill (many people did not know, including him...she hid it very well) and has yet to be convicted (charges are pending & her rights have been severed). We pray every day she will get to come home, & we will find out soon.
@Mzgriffy I'm sorry, but why should she get to come home after she did something like that? people who abuse children should get life in prison. because what if she does it again to someone else's child?
@thetoolbox112394 When I said get to come home, I meant the CHILD not her mother!!!! Her mother has been indicted. If you had READ my comment you would have seen that the MOTHER is at fault here and the father has been fighting the state to regain custody...He is a U.S. Soldier who has served his country honorably, and he came home from a deployment and as soon as he got home he found his daughter unresponsive. So explain to me WHY he shouldn't get his daughter back? HE DID NOTHING WRONG!
@Mzgriffy I know the mother is at fault and your friend deserves to get his daughter back. But I was just kind of confused because you started talking about the mother and then you said "she." and this was 2 years ago so when you said "i pray she comes home" i wasnt sure.
@thetoolbox112394 We're still fighting with child services. Her father & I are now in a relationship but are not married. So he's considered a single father. This child now has profound special needs & needs 24/7 intensive care, so the state is wavering on whether a single father can provide such care. We are getting married in 6 months. But for now, we are still fighting the state. I'm just thankful that her biological mother will never be able to hurt her or see her again & will be punished.
@Mzgriffy well it's good that your friend is no longer with her and she is being punished because a lot of people who do this either don't face justice or only get a few years or months in prison
