I don't care what you hear on the news or on your radio station about what is driving the cost of food upward. The reason is stock market speculators. As the US economy and the dollar crashes, big investors are moving vast amounts of their money into commodities and precious metals, to protect their wealth. This increases the demand, which increases the price. Of course these people have food and don't consider or care what it does to anyone.
