  • Google chrome brings out the best audio on youtube. It is clear as a bell. It sounds like MP3 audio & HD sound on video. So quit using firefox on youtube & Internet Explorer. Chrome is awesome boys This song is brought 2 life with Chrome. It sounds better then it did with firefox

  • One of the best record Ever...Really...It gives me such an amazing feeling.....

  • Wonderfull song. I really like this version. Mark says he is not the person to sing this song but I think he really is. Wonderfully sung Mark. Thanks for posting!

  • He's talking about Roger Scott (23rd October 1943 - 31st October 1989). He was a respected British radio disc jockey. This song has a very special meaning because Mark wanted Roger to have a listen to it, but sadly passed away before the track was finished and recorded.

  • how could u question if this is Mark knofler?

  • There are no words to descibe this, Mark is great, the song is great , the Gibson is great put them all together and you have...... well...... I still just don't know.

  • The song is by Charlie Rich, of "Behind Close Doors" fame.

  • He looks a lot like Bob Geldof in that thumbnail pic.

  • Why, why can´t I stop cry ....

  • He's so beautiful as his music.

  • His singing voice has never been his spectacular point, but... somehow... it adds to the beauty of this song. It makes it seem so much more human and real, not just another entertainer.

    Very haunting.

  • Love song

  • roger ballard

  • MARK ,GOD BLESS YOU !

  • Who is the 'Roger' he dedicates the song to?

  • Great!!!

  • Beautiful as always!

  • are you sure this is really mark?

  • @galnic61 If you listen to the talk in the beginning you shouldn't have to ask that question.

  • ok thanks

  • @Leksingen

    Good call.

  • Have this song on record with Notting Hillbillies, it´s great. Never heard Mark sing it. Thanks for shearing it.

  • Helt jävla underbart! känns så fint att det finns fler svenskar som verkligen brinner för denna fantastiska artist och människa!

  • @88bjorn - Det händer inte ofta man hittar någon :)

  • Nej verkligen:=)

  • some of the best songs are sung by not the best singers, this is just amazing

  • I don't know where you get this stuff from Lexsi.....but you just made me cry!....Thank you so much for sharing this.

    Regards Ed.

  • You can really notice Mark's voice breaking up... Seems really sad T.T

  • Simply Awesome . It touches your heart and soul David Roy

  • Beautiful. The song and guitar solo touched my heart. Thank you for sharing this awesome song. Nadine

  • Know where I can purchase this track?

  • You can find the original version on The Notting Hillbillies record "Missing... Presumed Having a Good Time".

  • Would like to buy it too. Anyone?

  • I too love this version with Mark singing -- I agree that his voice sounds amazing and matches the emotion he feels and he conveys. Beautifully touching.

  • best version marks voice just matches the song

  • Beautiful. I guess many would say that his voice is nothing against Croker's or maybe Jones' in this song. But this is the best version I've ever heard, probably. Emotion is the word.

    When and where?

  • Brilliant - the man is a genius, nuff said

  • This will go down as a stunning beautiful moment in music history. Knopfler at his most vulnerable. I only wish I could stop crying long enough to listen to it all the way through properly. God bless the Knopf

  • Who's Roger? Please tell me!

  • The Hillbillies album is one of my favourite Knopfler pieces - this is simply stunning!

I wish that guitar solo went on forever!

    Thanks for posting!

  • This is a beautiful version and ranks alongside the best of them, even though it's only a demo. Mark is obviously singing with deep emotion and it is very moving.

  • Special emotional moment of Mark,to which we are not used to.I think the original voice of the track (The Notting Hillbillies) is the more suitable for this fully emotional song...

Mark always touches us with his tunes. Thank Mark!

  • Just beautiful.... Theres a video goin round with Tom Jones singing the song with mark playing the music... !! Beautiful solos !!!

  • Thank you so much...beautiful!

  • Powerful! Leksingen, many thanks for sharing this. Still have chills

  • Leksingen - this is beautiful...thank you!
