Cal toured and recorded with Leo Kottke. I know he's on Kottke's "Ice Water" and "Dreams and all that stuff" Capitol recordings. There's a reissue of the group he was with in the 60's/70's called "The Sorry Muthas greatest hits vol. 3" on Wampus Cat. He plays dobro on a western music instrumental disc "Way Out West" on Swallowtail. Cal did quite a bit of session work in the 1970's/80's in Minneapolis so who knows what else he's on.
Check out the "Jayhawks" also known as "The Bunkhouse Album" which has just been released on C.D. From 1986, it was only on vinyl previously.....around 2000 copies originally pressed.
Thanks for posting this! The more Cal Hand the better! I love his album, "The Wylie Butler." Does anyone know if he's recorded anything else?
