  • Thanks as i have have a 1996 ZJ with the 5.2, hoping mine never fails, LOOKS like a PITA -- during last summer i changed the water pump and decided to change the bypass hose too, kind of a pain, Brian, not like the OLD days when you could sit under the hood to change plugs, etc. and things like CPS were never even heard/thought of

  • anyone try a lift? and get it from bottom?

  • I jacked the car up and removed the exhaust pipe. The sensor was clearly visible and accessable. Mine is also a 93 jeep grand cherokee.

  • @hankinsko thnks bro alot easier lol

  • im tryin to do mine and it blows i gotta do a main seal and oil assending unit im not excited

  • @ryanmb1992 Well whether you're excited or not it HAS to be done. Get it some place warm with good music and have fun!

  • Awsome job man! I can't get to the damn thing from the bottom or top. I have a 94 with the 318 v8. This is more challenging than rebuilding an engine. It has been a pain!!!

  • @candlqr Tell me about it. This is the same as the 1994 model exactly. I had to windex my arm to get it in and out of there. At least you know what size allen wrench to use. I spent like an hour trying to get a metric one in there just to test it. I wound up doing the whole job from above. I can do the next one in about 45 minutes or less. I seldom work on stuff this old, but it brings memories of the OBDI nonsense and pre autoCad mayhem we used to encounter regularly in the 90's.

  • Another reason i'd never buy a Chrysler.

  • @youtubasoarus They do some odd things now and again.

  • damn crankshaft position sensor. real pain to drive when its broken and real pain to replace it. 50$ part that can ruin you day

  • @vr1exe Most cars it's never a problem because they aren't in a spot to get cooked. This one is in an "oven location" it's a cookie!

  • @briansmobile1

yeah, chrysler engineers didn't thought about this. and its not cool when car dies randomly in the middle of driving :/

  • @vr1exe Stay tuned for my Chrysler review coming up.

  • LOL @ Just Empty Every Pocket... Never heard that one, and I thank you sir. I have a new one to throw at my boss who makes fun of my Ford (found on road dead, yadda yadda) F150.

  • @beefystik lol I've owned 6 of them. I know better now. And I still crave getting another. That's just because I can maintain it.

  • Atta boy

  • @edviperrrr Good on ya mate! Good on ya!

  • I did my fair share of those when at the dodge dealer, hated them as well but found doing them from underneath with a long extension was easier for my arms, rather do those ones then the seized in the block pos's in the 3.7's and 4.7's! Be careful using an aftermarket ckp sensor! Had alot of problems with them right out of the box! Iatn is rampant with warnings as well! great video as always!

  • @jeffsmopar1 Thanks man. I gave the customer the choice WITH the warnings on after market sensors. He wanted to go cheap so hope it works ok for a while at least.

  • yay a video for my jeep!

  • @calmini4x4 Hooray!

  • I don't blame ya... looks like a pain in the @#$ to get to.

  • @greg197040 I had to windex my arm to lube it in there!

  • i have to do this in my range rover like, tomorrow. thanks for the video

  • @jsnyara You're welcome. Good luck!

  • nice

  • Very often its just a bad connection in the harness connecter on the Jeeps. They are a real bitch to replace. Hope you didn't do it for nothing and the sensor was really bad. I've been there too, not fun at all.

  • @vipermech I checked it out. The sensor was bad. It was sensitive to temp and the signal went to crap when the engine warmed up.
