You're awesome, really wanted to get a grasp of C++ before I go into a college class, and so far I can tell these are really going to help me! You're a life saver!
When creating a variable by typing "int x", the variable has no known value. This is bad practice, because if you use the variable in an equation when you don't know it's value, you may get strange behaviour (undefined behaviour). Here it is solved by then typing "x = 7", which assigns 7 to "x", and so it is no longer unknown.
However, the correct way to do it in C++ is to initialize (give starting value) everything like this: "int x(7);"
@tiago1133 in one of the previous videos, he said that it sometimes doesn't mater how you space out your code, and this is one of that times... for example:
cout << "Hello world!" ;
does the same thing as
cout<<"Hello world!";
the first example is just more organised but does the same thing
hey, i really appreciate ur tutorials but i have one question when v assign variables (let's say x and y) and then when assigning values i gave x =7 and x= y and then i print the code but it displays sme error y is that so??
OMG! I just realized it that I can also do this stuff in TURBO C++! hahahaha! Yeay! No need to listen to the teacher when I get to my 4th year level because you already told me and explained it to me! Thanks!
Im subbing because I was looking for a tutorial for a complete noob like me, that wanted to lean C++ but couldn't find anything easy enough for me, and this is perfect, thanky you so much (:
@biplav32 Yeah reading is great, but the thing is I spent days, like 4 or 5 hours a day reading on c++, the same thing over and over trying to comprehend it. But the thing is, some people just can't learn through reading text. I learned more since last night just starting these videos than I did that month of reading like that, like I knew how to write programs and such (simple ones) but I never actually knew what each term meant. He thoroughly explains. I subbed to you antirtfm :D
Variables and other basics are all concepts that I believe noobs should know before tackling the syntax and complexity of c++, like in a language such as Visual Basic. Thats how I learned basic programming concepts.
Russian? Polish? I don't know, but I tried following tutorials at some others such as newboston, but you go detailed in hard stuff, and you repeat it alot. Keep continueing with your huge amount of tutorials, as yours are amazing
This is great, I kind of get lost in just reading manuals and books, but this has actually kept me engaged and I didn't even notice the time flying by.
Great! I've watched the first 6/7 videos and I already knew about the topics BUT these videos are so detailed that I now know why you have to do certain things. Probably the best c++ tutorials that i've seen on youtube.
OK, I have been watching tutorials so i can finish my video game, and i have seen alot.. But this one is very detail and i like it good job and i hope you keep making these videos!

Instead of "cin.get()" in the end to keep the program running you could use
system("PAUSE");
...Just looks a little bit better

@daltonwilson123321 NEVER use void main, the main is an integer function, it returns an integer.

int main() is a storage box too correct? We can call main to be used later in our program?
Ziphlon 2 years ago
Actually chances are it's stored on the CPU SRAM cache not the main system SDRAM cache. =P
Most programs try to keep processes with in the CPU L1/L2cache it self for quicker response.
