Er... I can't tell if you're trolling or not. I'd like to think you are.
But yeah... The dude looks like Lennon which is kind of cool. And he's a much better guitar player. As much as I love him (really, the Beatles), as a professional musician, I have to say that he really wasn't a very good guitarist, haha. Or bassist for that matter. If you listen to the isolated bass on Helter Skelter, you'll want to rip your ears out. But it somehow worked. Beatle magic I suppose.
i'm only 2mins in my comp keeps freezing but typical Dave holding it all in, man I hope he opens up soon, still i didnt know how it would sound, almost spot on
lol hes one of my favorites, you are the dumb azz for interpreting what i said how you did, all i said was he seemed too shy to open up, and no he did not open up
The band sounds great, but I'm not sure Dave has the right voice to sing this song. That's not a dig - he's one of my favorite artists - this just doesn't seem to be the best song for him. This is more of a mournful song, and Dave has such a happy voice. Johnny Cash sounded a lot better.
@AfricanButtScratcha have you heard gravedigger, grace is gone, or baby blue? try telling me those aren't mournful songs and dave doesn't sing them perfectly
@AfricanButtScratcha You should really some other Neil covers Dave does. He does Neil better than anyone. Down By The River Live at Radio City is something to check out.
Dave & Neil, a superb blend of talent!!! This specific recording took place on September 20, 2005 at Madison Square Garden. It was a Katrina benefit concert from which a 2DVD set was later produced and sold. The name of the concert & disc set is "from the Big Apple to the Big Easy the concert for New Orleans." 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of the DVD benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. Check the net for more info, but buy one today, on the 3rd Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
Neil?? That is Jimmy Buffett. Maybe you ment they are singing a Neil song. Funny this is Dave M. sitting in with Jimmy Buffett and his band and no mention of them at all!
I like the electric guitarist who does what is essentially the harmonica break, he's pretty good, but Dave doesn't really come close to being able to sing this in a way that makes you really feel the song like Neil Young does.
he's obviously not used to singing without playing the guitar... the few times i've seen him sing without playing the guitar, he was still holding it (sweet caroline at fenway park)
Well, singing Heart Of Gold with hand in pocket....

I can't believe they didn't even introduce John Lennon on guitar at 2:21!!!
And steel drums should be kept at least two tunes away from THIS song...

Hello :) Thank You for the answer :) These sounds are exotic for me (I'm from Europe) but I like it. This music is very optimistic. Greetings.
