  • this makes no sense..i know a whipple cobra is fast..but a cammed 150 shot camaro is like a 550hp car also...and seeing as how the Z28 is like 200lbs lighter than the cobra's..this does'nt add up...i just watched a another vid of a cobra getting his ass handed to him by a F body with only nitrous..this guy running a cam too..wtf is going on here

  • @bladingpro not quite true. if your engine can handle say 500hp on stock internals, if you get there through a huge cam or nitrous doesnt make a whole lot of difference to your engine.

I love terminators especially since stock they are forged internals and will take 600hp and not even blink but to build that LS1 would cost not even close to 2k for the bottom end unless you call Mr kieth black I guess.

  • @AudiS403 Eagle is a poor company. The cost reflects the quality. There is a reason it only costs $900, it's a chinese produced trashed...not properly made and the bearing clearances are horrid. Within a short period of time a little *ting ting ting* will form. Plus, trust me, that's not even 1/2 the cost of making it a forged bottom end car. Factor in assay parts, bearings, seals, gaskets, etc, there is a lot more to assembly than you may think. Modulars FTW

  • Personally I like all muscle cars, from the past to the present. Its the owners that give them a bad rap. Yes mustang sells alot its a good looking car, but the late 70s pinto style mustang looks terrible. Everybodys got a mustang so with all of these cars running around they can be bought pretty cheap being so many of them made. Myself I dont like to go in the direction of the masses, I like to go my own route have my own mind not what the masses point to.

  • @KRBearden The fastest stock car I would have to say is a 68 hemi dart. They were sub 10 sec cars strait out of the factory with drivers like Dick Landy racing them, some even got into the 9s with some tweaking. Now these cars weren't sold in show rooms to the general public they were sold to racers. They were factory darts that mopar hired hurst to put the hemi in it for them and after that they were sold to certain racers. Man I really love mopar.

  • nitrous will shorten the life of your motor many times over.The cobra's motor is built for the supercharger and will still run after 150,000 miles if you keep the oil changed.I have one this is my second cobra.I will never sell this one EVER they can bury me in it lol

  • what does it matter if he sparys or not? when a race uses Nitrous it defeats the purpous because its not like you run around town with your bottle on. it makes the race unrealistic because that cobra will ALWAYS be that fast and doesnt need to fill up a stupid bottle all the time.

  • @bigbore290F uhm yes most whipple cobras are pushing 18 psi on the street because thats the highest it can go with pump gas dick head. do you honestly think hes running 24 psi like these blowers can handle? it wouldnt even be a race at that point. and for only 555rwhp this is probably a built whipple running like 13-15psi. kb and whipple cobras at 18psi consistently make between 610-640rwhp.

  • @svtcobra1992, I don't agree with your statement. Nitrous is a bolt on performance part just like any other part people buy. Just like an electric exhaust cut out, or someone with multiple level tunes with a switch, you can use it when you want or need to. My bottle is right between my rear seats and can be opened quickly while driving down the road. Nitrous took my pretty much bone stock LS1 to 12.3@120 on a 150 shot and street tires. I give people runs on and off the bottle, its all for fun.

  • @ZachJ03 Both of you have your points, I would agree with you, a nitrous bottle holds more than one 150 shot. So its not like you run it take it back to fill it up run again. Ya the cobra always has that power on tap and thats something to admire the car for but still. We all know camaros can move out on a nice size shot of juice.

    What transmission tunnel mount are you running? I just bought the HSW system and was going to get their tunnel mount, i think it looks badass and is better than putting the bottle in the spare tire compartment.

    I have the HSW kit and thier tunnel mount as well. I think it is awesome, and no need for an automatic bottle opener either. It does look nice too, has a nice finish and doesnt look like someone fabricated it in their garage, lol. What other mods do you have?

  • @ZachJ03 Just shorty headers, 3.73's, SLP Lid, Cutout, EFI Live Tune, 100 Shot and the Free Mods, and ram air hood, weight reduction, not alot yet, i was daily driving it up until about 2 weeks ago, now i can start throwing stuff at it.

  • @bizzlesnatch never took it down the strip yet but ive seen test vids on youtube of a1998 cobra running 13.5's stock at like 104-105 i think? the main thing is that 96-98 cobras only weigh around 3300lbs and handle pretty well. i read in hot rod magazine today of a silverado regular cab with a built LS1 making 440 to the wheels running 12.9 so i highly doubt your stock LS1 in a similar weight truck can run better than a 14.5 1/4 mile

    I think the 98 cobra is a 4 valve car, my buddy has one, all stock ran a 14.2, could have been poor driving, is yours a 2 valve? if so I bet you would be lucky to run a 14.2 or better. check out my vids I have 3 of my ls1 dodge ram at the track. One pass I beat a 05 mustang gt

  • @bizzlesnatch yeah 96-98 are virtually identical except in 1998 they are missing the strut tower brace and the exhaust bolts up different. mine is the 4v cobra motor rated at 305hp 300 lb ft. 14.2 isnt a BAD run for a 98 cobra but its true potential is 13.5 with factory tires and everything. 05 GT runs a 14 at best because its 300hp but it weighs 3580lbs so you can see how the 98 cobra with 5 more hp and 280 less lbs runs 13.5's

  • @svtcobra1992 The ZL-1 was made available only for 1969 under COPO 9560 and Chevrolet needed to install 50 copies to qualify the ZL1 Camaro for racing. Chevrolet eventually built 69 Camaros and 2 Corvettes with the ZL1 engine. ZL1 cars were blessed with a 5 year/50,000 mile warranty and were fully street legal. With factory exhausts and tires, ZL1 Camaros could turn low 13s; with headers and slicks, they could turn 11.6s @ 122mph. This was the fastest car ever produced by Chevrolet.

Mustang comes in at #22 on the list 69 Boss 429, There are 3 camaros, 3 firebirds, 5 vettes, and my favorite 7 mopars and so on above it. Although 1 ford is #2 66 427 cobra. 97 cobra R came in at #26 Out of the top 50 ford only had 7 cars that made the list. Now this is 97 to eairly iron I guess no one has updated the list.

  • @svtcobra1992 i get what your saying but not everyone can afford a supercharger or turbo. nitrous is affordable and just as affective, and with a wot switch its available at wot. to spend $400-$600 and have an extra 100-150hp and all you have to do is fill a bottle from time to time i think thats good, thats what im doing with my 331. i disagree that its unrealistic a supercharged 500hp mustang vs a nitrous 500hp mustang will be a real race spray or not.

  • @91gt306 if your car is daily driven or driven alot then nitrous is a good power adder for you cause you can drive around on your mild motor then when you wanna get crazy or sumbody challenges you,you open the bottle on them. if my vehical was always racing at the track i would rather do a turbo or blower. example= a stock ls1 camaro can ride around geting 20+mpg all day with ac on siting in traffic and driving like a stock car then go to the track open the bottle and run low 12s! why not?

  • u do know that more then just hp plays a factor in how fast a car goes..360rwhp with a 3000lb car is faster then a 390 hp in a 4300lb car..(weights arent exact just examples)
