In fact, when they were rebuilding a new water wheel in '86-'87, my dad and I brought a paddle from the old wheel, home and stained & varnished it! (I wonder if my dad still has it?)

good... but just for decoration. you can see the black extension cord going to the small pump that send water to the top of the wheel. (N)
