  • HAHA anyone else notice the in the title bar of reason 5 it says "Yeah, I give up trying to make a pun out of 'excision'. He's frickin awesome"

  • what program is that?

  • @ninten688 It's Reason 5.0

  • This song was dirtier than Casey Anthony's trunk.

  • I want to set alight to that cursor.

  • His cursor acc dances to the beat a nd pitch

  • lol the cursor is dancing

  • ÄÄÄPPPPÄÄÄÄCCCC

  • That looks like Reason, but not. Is that like an old ass version of reason?

  • @TheMuslimKiller reason 5 lol

  • @TheMuslimKiller Reason 5 or 6, it's a new version

  • god u are great man, im a big fan

  • Dave, thank you so much for teaching me the finer points of Reason... this track is sick! Now if you could do or point me in the direction of a tutorial that shows how to preform this and similar tracks live with an MPD26 that would be so appreciated!

  • Ouch...my face 03:54

  • Thanks for this great Tutorial! Check out my Video Response!

  • the only things i dont like about reason is that you cant add Audio, so you cant do remixes! And it doesnt support VST's... If anyone knows how to do either just gimme a reply please!

  • @TheDJjjofficial you can use VSTs but they must be standalone VSTis...and whatever you use a mbox presonus of whatever just open your VSTi take a basic cable you would use for audio input get a jack and run it from your computer mic input to the input in the back of your interface then open reason and make an audio track and play..its just like hooking up a guitar to your interface....... there you go if you have any other question feel free to ask PEACE

  • Feed Me, Porter Robinson and Avicii all use Fl Studio. Do you people honestly think a DAW could matter that much?

  • @Guacamole1000 Afrojack & Deadmau5 ave done in the past too! :)

  • Hey guys don't forget to check the dubstep i made after following theses tutorials, the link is just above in video response (the one with flames :) )

  • I love the title of the track in the software.

  • @MrJeevs123 REASON 5 iss wayyyy better but if your just getting started im making music and wanna keep it nice and simple go with fl then when you feel more comftible go with Reason 5 its wayyy better you get that nice adiuo!

  • believe it or not that mouse is moving by itself

  • funny how the views decrease over each video and then explode here.. just like the levels of a dubstep song shortly before the drop

  • @MrJeevs123 FL studio is for those who can't handle a real program like cubase, reason or the likes.

  • @Dalroc no fl studio the same as every other DAW it just how you use it cause i use 3 DAWs for music prod. i use Fl, Ableton, Sonar there all pretty much the same only reason does not use VST's or VSTi's but there just as powerfull just depends on how you use it and what you prefer mine is Abelton how about yours?

  • @vjstudio I agree.

All DAWs are good at something, FL is good for beginners but pros can use aswell...

You will eventually get the same sounds on all DAWs, its just preferences on layout etc...

    (:

  • what program is this?

  • @burnttoast541 Reason

  • "Yeah I give up trying to make a pun out of 'excision'. " lolol

  • OUTSTANDING, big talent

  • If you wanna make a pun out of excision, stop using reason, start using vsti-s.

  • 3:53 this was also my reaction.

  • follow the dancing mouse.

  • how do u use the envelopes for the wobbles???

  • @GZeffinBaby Go back to day 1, part 2. It's the filter you made for the start of the beat. Just changing the shape from a steady line upwards to a zigzag having a seizure :)

  • @GZeffinBaby Start on day 1, he should include everything at some point in the 7 days. If not, use an LFO to sweep the filter frequency.

  • @GZeffinBaby If you have to ask then it's not for you to know, so shut the fuck up bitch and pack your $1.50 broken furniture and ripped up cloths get the fuck out and go back where you animals come from peasant

  • @eddgomezHaHa WHy ?

  • @MrTOxicFRedd it very easy software too try it . but its not cool as reason

  • SOunds just like skrillex :)

  • i kinda didn't follow too well on the wobble...

also, where can i learn to place notes porperly? i either get too short gaps or too long gaps, and im using an auto wobble control triggered by the midi gate so i NEED gaps

  • lmfao at the mouse XDDD

  • Dirtier than the shits a fat guy has after eating chipotle

  • Sick as fuck bro. Tutorial was amazing

  • i see the mouse got some new moves

  • mouse skills ftw

  • I agree that dubstep is more than just a LFO wobble bass.

  • nice

  • Ahhh newbies to the scene. You jumped on the bandwagon when it got hot? Dubstep is the definition of not having a definition.

There is no set loops, it could be 4/4 it could be half step, two step, the elements of dub are present in most songs, some choose to utilize them a bit more than others.

People like here posting that need to assume that everything must fall into a genre or must be classified in that genre because of how it sounds is what turned dubstep into the mockery it is

  • @dntzonis You sir are what turned dubstep into the mockery it is. 1. Not everyone "just jumped on the bandwagon", you have no clue if these people listened to it before or after you, and assuming you do is just arrogant. 2. Actually, there are set loops for dubstep. They're called wobbles. THAT is what defines dubstep - a modulation of the LFO on a synth to create a wobble, not its indescribableness. 3. Dub is not the same as dubstep. Dub isn't techno. Nice try though.

  • I totally danced along his mousepointer with mine :D

  • As always just awesome stuff Dave

  • /watch?v=VSoIAqENZtM

    Yeay!

  • This was great, thanks :)

  • this was FUCKING SICK! i heard the last dubstep final piece of yours... didnt like it so much, but my god this shit gave me goosebumps! ACE. TIME TO WATCH ALL 7 DAYS! :)

  • I love your little mouse-dance thing

  • Where's the sub bass? Dubstep never was about the wobble, god you idiots...

  • @stickmister321 Clearly you can't read. This is more Skrillex style music. No, not really dubstep, more brostep (But who the fuck cares, honestly).

  • @trfinck Clearly I was stating that new "brostep" is shit.

There's billion sub-genres and as you said who cares, so I suggest you to fuck off?

3:54 states how stupid the listeners of that trendy shit music really are. Skrillex down :D

  • @stickmister321 Haha I never really disagreed with you, I was just stating that obviously those who wanted this tutorial wanted the Skrillex sound. In all honesty, no one truly knows what Brostep is, because the originator (Kozee) said it was a joke. No one cares about old school dubstep because it doesn't sell. Rusko says he doesn't like what he made, but do we see him stopping anytime soon? Nope. Nor will Excision and Datsik, or Flux, or Doctor P, or 12th Planet. Not one dub artist will ;)

  • @trfinck It seems you know a lot from this 'brostep'? Why everyone call them dub artist, when clearly dubstep nor do brostep have anything common with dub?

  • @stickmister321 Huh? I shortened Dubstep artist because of char limits.Dub refers to halfsteps (on a scale), not Dubbing. Wobble is present, just not as prominent. The line between Brostep and Dubstep doesn't exist, just created by those who hate the direction dubstep is going in. These people need to wake up and realize music evolves. Otherwise, we'd be sipping tea at a Mozart Concerto, not going to the club. (protip: brostep makes no sense, more women go to the concerts than men!)

  • @trfinck Ok, thanks for the, eh... tip. Music can evolve, and so do artists, but do the evolving have to lead to make more money? It would be same that techstep would evolve into 4-beat despite the syncopated rhythms and drums, like brostep did. It's not evolving, it's getting greedy.

  • @stickmister321 Very much so. Unfortunately, that's how things go :\

  • @trfinck It's funny how your moods change between posts. However, companies desire more money and do shit like skrillex, but shit happens, right? I'm fine with this now.

  • @trfinck You're right about more women being into brostep than men. I seriously wonder how that's even possible lmao.

  • @AsAngelsFall221 brostep involves higher less bassy synths and is generally more pop like which is why women find it easier listening to then deeper heavier dubstep.

  • guys , go and vote for this guy in the link at 3:56

his tutorials are amazing and he deserves our support !!

lets help him to improve his channel....

  • posted a video response to a good tutorial, similar techinques have been deployed although using Ableton rather than Reason........

  • The drop was pretty spiffy. I'm not a huge fan of the sluggishness that happens after the siren synth, though. It's fun listening to how odd things sound out of context and then hearing them in the final song in context. Most of this tutorial means nothing to me, considering I lack the DAW, but I watched it from start to finish. Marvelous sense of humor, very entertaining and most of all it was incredibly informative. Well done.

  • MOUSE SKANKING!

  • absolute filth<3

  • i tried 1080p and my head exploded.

  • I like the way your cursor is dancing !

  • haha his mouse is hilarious lol

  • watch?v=AzWU2qtwV0g&feature=channel_video_title Any Advice Mr Dave , First Track I've Produced Out Of Reason , In Process Of A Amateur Volume But Could Do With Advice ?

  • The mix is too dry, especially in the bass... this just shows people how to make awful dull dubstep songs... still, you can't expect miracles in 7 days

  • @lukelat1 You're missing the point. His tutorials are for helping people get started with their own production

  • @blksnst I thought the point was to make 'Dirty Dubstep'? This isn't dirty dubstep... if it's for helping people get started why isn't it called 'Getting started by making really basic dubstep'

  • @lukelat1 Yes, I agree that the mix sounds indeed dry, but I wouldn't say that it's an awful song. Dave seems to know a lot about production, but somehow his songs don't have that "pro sound" (exept that Katy Perry remix which sounds awesome) . Maybe he just doesn't have monitors speakers or mixes on headphones, a few months back I bought some decent monitors and my productions improved greatly.

  • I find the bass to be a bit too mid-heavy and flat for my taste. Great arrangement and overall production as usual for the rest though!

  • whats the name of this software?

  • @ERiNxtc420 reason 5

  • I don't know what it is about this but it sounds really empty...good melodies and basses tho!

  • THIS WAS SO FUCKING GOOD AGHHH

  • My subwoofer just ate my cat. Thanks Dave.

  • Man i'm just goign to get reason due to this tutorial is better than kev willows for fruity loops.

  • @ferron420 excision uses Massive, Reaktor & Alchemy to the best of my knowledge...

  • Would've been nice with a swoosh and a cymbal to fill out the emptiness of the first instrumental breakdown :) but still pretty damn awesome

  • Frikkin' awesome

  • how can you call this psytrance

    this is fucking shitty dubstep
