  • Why not try it Slushy style?

Take a syringe without the needle, calcium powder, gerber baby food- chicken, and crushed up waxworm guts. First try dabbing a little on his nose to get him to lick it off. If that doesnt work, gently nudge the side of his jaw until he opens and squirt a small amt of it inside. Do this repeatedly 3-4x a day.

  • How did you fix him?

  • these lizards get intestinal worms and protozoan parasites too. be sure to de-worm regularly as your vet prescribes!!

  • is there something wrong with m y gecko please help, anyone.? heres a vid youtube.com/watch?v=KmxChhbRDzw

  • How did you solve the problem?

  • i have just got a 2 year old raptor leo gecko (check my vids) and on the first night he didnt eat a thing...is this due to the stress of moving and new tank? the last person who had him said he was a great eater. he has a nice big tail and dsont want him to get ill. any help would be great

  • @decsimp98 its a guy

  • my leopard gecko, callie, is totally sick and it's really sad becuz i dont know what to do. she's just a baby and she wont eat anything. sometimes she stares at the mealworms but then she closes her eyes and then looks away. she also has a VERY skinny tail and she even tried pulling it off!!!!!! I do have another leopard gecko in the same cage but they seemed very close!!!!! what should i do???

  • @erinmitch61898 ok check her eyes . force feed her something i suggest taking canned dog food and adding water until its almost a liquid then taking a non pointed plastic seringe and opening her mouth until she takes the food. If she closes her eyes its a sign of distress. Get HER TO A VET!! before its too late RIP Tyson

  • @erinmitch61898 that happened to my leopard gecko it ended up having an impaction and evetualy died. if it has an impaction its stomach will be all blue and nasty. hope she gets better!

  • @erinmitch61898 Thats kinda funny, Callie is my name. i would take them both in to get checked just incase, because if one is sick, theres a great chance that it could get the other one sick too. I'm not a vet or nothing but that would be my first guess. And then i would keep the two of them separet untill you know that both are well.

  • what type of leopard gecko is that

  • my gecko did this too. did you feed him lots of meal worms? if yes he migt be clogged with mealworm shells. or if you feed him the same thing all the time he get bored of just the same thing.

  • how do people call paper towel substrate

  • try giving it a bath with luke warm water and the depth up to the beginning of the belly

  • She has an uth and a moist box and a warm hide.

  • I have taken her to the vet and he had no idea wat was wrong with her. He gave her penicillin and panacur just in case she had an infection or worms but she still won't eat so.. Any help?

  • She's on paper towels. It's not impaction. She just won't eat still. I've been giving her baby food though. He hasn't lost weight and she has been a bit more active now. She also shed and it was fine she had no problems!! How do I get her to eat again! She doesn't want to. Her temps range from 86-90 on the warm and from 72-75 on the colder side. She's in a ten gallon now. She's also almost a year old.

  • My Leo threw up a mealworms yesterday. Is that really really bad? I mean when we puke or dogs puke we feel better. I know she's sick because she Seems to sleep a lot. She does eat though and she doesn't have any discharge or anything wrong except those two things.

  • what substrate and if its new and the leo was on sand then you have impaction. soak him/her in warm water. but if he keeps doing this he'll well die. trust me i saw 5 vid today sayign that about impaction.

  • he might be sheding his skin

  • ok bugz your gecko is probally gonna shed or somthings wrong because my leopards doing the same except he isnt eating... 2 weeks now.. so far

  • can someone help me one of my geckos stays in his hide all day and all night and only comes out for food and poop

  • He might be scared.

  • hes not scared i know why it was it was it wasnt hot enough in the tank and the hide was hot lol and i knew he wernt scared because hes very hand tame

  • Oh. My gecko is not hand tame. He freaks every time I try to pick him up!

  • all mygeckos eat is locusts they dont look at the meal worms they eat wax worms but its faten em up so i give them 2 easch every 2 months .... as i wa saying the atch the cricktes but they gob the locuts

  • maybe you need a bigger tank , my gecko would need a bigger tank too , im about to get a gecko tomorro morn , or you can take your gecko outside to hunt .

  • i hope your gecko goes well. thanks for the advice hes better now.

  • I have two leopard geckos and this happened to me to so i went to petssmart they told me i was feeding them to much so i stopped and they regained their appitite

  • is he ok now? very nice gecko

  • yea hes good now its all good XD

  • its probably where you feed him/her.. mines barely ate until i started feeding her where her heat light is.. seems to like it and she eats like an animal now :P

  • omg... your advice worked... well not in this video but later he wouldnt eat for about 3 months so thanks XD

  • hey bro..ive seen some of ya vids..my input for this vid is to either hand feed him or be reallie patient..dont use fruits or veggies though bkus leos are stimulated by movement like alive crickets and worms..but mulamoney is right his tail is styll chubby so he wont die of starvation their tails are like storage they put alot of fat and vitamins there so wen theres no food they take it from there so GOOD JOB MULAMONEY and i hope this helps geckonub325

  • thanks for your concern its all good now and hes now just being a pain in the ass and eating one mealworm a day instead of 4 every other day. such a stubborn gecko....

  • lol yea no problemo homie just tryna help u noe???and well atleast shes eating and yea geckos have differenet personalities just like dogs and cats!!hope all is well wit u n your leos

  • Try feeding him pinkies (baby mice). Don't worry, he has a nice fat tale, which means he should be okay for a few months. You should only be worried when their tale starts to get skinny.

  • thanks for the concern. hes all better now although hes gotten weaker. tread mill time!! :D

  • mine has a hate for mealworms i dont think thats right

  • nah unless he rejects food in general hes all good. picky bastards lol

  • Each gecko has a different attitude.

  • Hes blind

  • where the hell did you get that idea!! jesus lol

  • try to feed her something else like waxworms, pinkies, mealworms, superworms, grasshoppers then she probely eat(mine dident eat for like 5months but she survied thanks to the waxworms :)))))

  • give em some mealworms if he still doesn't eat see a expert/vet

  • actually mine was alright until about a month and a half cause umm he hasnt eaten since. hes going to die and i know it but hell eat eventually. :'(

  • I remember when I knew my leo was gonna die in a matter of time. 2 weeks later I was right... RIP Maggie Mae

  • RIP Maggie Mae

  • in about two-three weeks if he doesnt eat then he has worms and it will cost u about $60 to get him in for a check up but i know this because i had a baby albino leo that died because i found out too late that he had worms

  • use mealworms and put the meal worm in the hide with your gecko and it will eat that is what i have to do with mine good luck:)

  • are you feeding it every day

  • Im used to my dog eating every day so i always get totally paranoid wi the gecko. he eats like every 4/5 days lol. but he's healthy and happy so i just have to get used to him. maybe yours is the same lol x

  • How is he now? I had to do a new user because the other one was getting crazy, so I was that Limend7

  • o hes good he just shed but umm stupid vet gave me some crappy stuff and now hes no eating again o the humanity!!

  • he has nothing to do, put in a hide, he needs water and calcium, get a heat pad and a uv light

  • lol he has all that it just doesnt show. im not crazy...

  • i breed leopard geckos and you have to have a food variety if he wont eat anything he could have worms look into it

  • put him in a better tank jeezuz

  • it was dirty :'(

  • may be he wants something else. my brothers leos didn't eat mealworms and never ate for a while and when he gave him crikets they rather have the crikets.

  • hes good dont worry

  • he needs bigger tank, heat, smaller or bigger food, and help from a trusting pet store trust me.

  • hes good

  • ive seen a lot of geckos with this problem on youtube maby try a different diet i hear that if you feed crickets different fruits and then feed the crickets to the gecko it will make it healthy!

  • Good Luck!

  • TY :D

  • How many are you feeding him a day? Feeding him too much might make him not hungry. Try again every day, he'll eat ( the more they eat the hungrier and the get a higher metabolism.)

  • my gecko had the same problem. she didn't eat crickets for months. I gave her a waxworm every other day (I know it's too fatty) but now she eats crickets again and is perfectly fine :)

  • it could be hes coming up for a shed or the food might scare him if you feed him locust or crickets that are realy big the might hit him on the face and scare him thats why my leo did she didnt eat for 3 days then i feed her small meal worms and boy wa she hungry LOL

  • check its stomach for a black patch if its got a black patch send it to the vets

  • yeah, try adding an undertank heater, and a heat lamp(infrared prefered) He looks a bit skinny. Most likely is the temperature. What is the temp right now?

  • mine used to eat crickets until i gave him a wax worm now he acts lik ethe crickets are his homies! he just looks at them then goes to sleep!

  • rofl

  • lol

  • rofl XD

  • The good thing is, he has a quite fat tail what means he has grease. Aww, he is so beautiful gecko. Hope he's gonna recover... Good luck.

  • thanks

  • Bowelblock, maybe?

  • I got a gecko too and I had this problem long time ago:

    1) maybe as abxyz3124 said, it was too cold.

    2) don't feed so many mealworms, they can harm them form the inside, my vet said so.

    3) During winter they just stop eating for a long time, just like my snake and other reptiles.

I'm not a professional, but I own a leopard gecko too and maybe we can share any information of them.

    My english is bad sorry.

  • he doesn't look very thin sometimes they wont eat if its too cold if he still doesn't eat you can buy this protein mix which you mix with water and put in a syringe if you drop some on its mouth he'll lick it.

  • he could be bored of the food, but i would take him to the vet. give him a waxworm to see if he eats it though before you go to the vet

  • take him to a vet retard if his poop is like that that means theres something wrong with him what are you feeding him?

  • eat it bitch

  • umm why don't you take him to a vet? sorry about the retard thing i don't remember putting that on there.....anyways yup vets usually know what to do in situations like this

  • sticking a camera in his face may make him nervous.. if you have the lighting wrong he could think it's hibernation period.. he could be about to shed.. he may have just finished shedding... there's so many things. If he was on sand, it could be impaction, if you fed him too much he could be backed up... or he could just not be hungry.. i can see that he has a nice big fat tail, watch his weight and when you see a noticeable change in the fat storage, if he still wont eat, take him to a vet.

  • as well, try putting a little "cave" made out of half a coconut or something, so your leo feels more secure. This will make him identify this place as "his" home, and it will make him become more confident.

  • his container seems a bit odd to me... does it have a heater underneath or a heating light? maybe its the temperature that affects his behavior, since reptiles become lethargic when temperatures decrease, thus causing him to loose his appetite...

  • Well try giving him a silkworm, they are very nutrient filled. You might have to put it in their and leave him alone for a bit if he is stressed. Silkworms won't nibble at him like crickets do.

One problem might be heat, is there enough or too much?

  • well maybe he is full? im not sure. maybe he is tired. they are sometimes in the mood to eat, and sometimes they're not

  • maybe its the mealworms :|...maybe one isnt dead

  • my leopard gecko just stops eating for a week and then starts... but i try to feed him every day... my female eats everytime i offer her food

  • try feeding him something else. maybe he got tired of crickets. waxworms work for mi gecko. her eyes open up really wide! lol

  • when was he last feed

  • about a week ago. he ate seven mealworms. he did eat today but only 2 crickets. im getting more crickets tommorow cause most of them are dead.

  • they do that

  • Maybe the lizard is stressed.. or it might be siick.. i would have someone check up on him..or her... but i really just thing hes stressed so yeah leave him be fore a day...

  • And, did you just get him? If you did just get him thats the problem. They do not eat on the first day or week. It could take up to 2 weeks before they eat.

    So please reply :)

  • no i didnt just get him. he just stopped eating. he was great before. ill try again today and let you know. and yes i did try worms and nothing.

  • Well as i said just leave them in there or try. Did he just shed? If he did it could take a few days before he can get back into eating

  • he did shed but like a week before he stopped eating. And the shed wasnt the best ever. he did have some trouble.

  • Well heres a thing, Ever tried worms?

Just leave them in there and wait for a day. Don't force him and exspect him to eat it in front of you. Try crickets one more time leaving it in his enclosure, and if that doesn't work try waxworms or mealworms in a dish and just leave him alone.

Remember to dust their food with reagular calcium 3 times a week and a multivitamin with D3 calcium 1 time a week
