  • @kinghenry5280 yes, 'yoo' is just like the 'verb to be', but it's not being used as same as the verb to be all the time :) I hope you will not get any trouble from the protest thingy when you are in Bangkok :) Have a nice trip ka

  • hmmmm. i miss thailand this time ! we've been there on april-may 2009 ! and we love thailand ! even if it just look same as here in philippines, we admire how the thai people treat us so nice. :) sawasdee kha :)

  • sawatdee kha. glad to hear you love Thailand kha. Have a nice day <3

  • korb koon kha. ;]

  • Hi metalizaa,

Can you make some more videos where you interact with another person?

The difficulty with trying to learn Thai at a distance is that although there are plenty of sources on the Web, the user cannot get any feedback. So being able to listen to a conversation between two people with an explanation of what was said would be very helpful.

For example, you could perhaps use your shopping tutorial with your friend acting as the sales person and you as the customer.

  • Thank you Kay! Keep making videos and you will become a star.

  • thanks for this...i LOve the Thai language and always LOve watching Thai dramas but haven't had formal Thai language training...hope there's more videos!

  • is that river safe to drink out of

    *coughts* the letter R rules

  • Oh thank you sooo much we just had a thai girl move into our class yesterday and she doesent speak a word of english and I whant to know what shes saying and try to get her name or her age or what she likes thank you sooo much :D So very helpful!

  • What does name Somkamsaeng means?

  • A very cute Teacher!

  • i'm not actually a teacher. but however, thank youuu :)

  • I know you are not a teacher, but as long as you are teaching me how to understand Thai, you're my teacher! Nevertheless, khun narak mak krup!

  • Hi Kay,

For the phrase nevermind, is it "mai pen rai" or "mai pen arai"?

    Thank you!

  • it's actually "mai pen arai"

but Thai people usually say "mai pen rai" for a short form :)

  • Tumai khun pood aRai gop 'R'? Tumai khun mai pood aLai gop 'L'. Do you pronounce the word "what" (arai) with the letter 'R', and not (aLai) with the letter 'L'? Did I learn the Thai language that is spoken up North like the country people/farmers speak? Thank you very much for your lessons!!! Kop (krob) khun mak!!!

  • 'arai' is spelt with the alphabet 'ร/R', not 'ล/L'.

pronouncing 'Alai' is incorrect. however, most people oftenly say 'Alai' rather than 'Arai' because 'Alai' is easier to pronounce. and listeners still understand that 'Alai' is actually 'Arai'. :)

  • lovely and helpful lesson, ur also a cute teacher ... :P

  • Very handy, cheers. It's so handy to hear someone speak Thai as the tones can be very confusing. I should upload some videos on how to speak Australian!
