  • If they are investing,is because of something ,this people doesn't throw money away

  • That's the end of Tesla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • excellent work!

  • well i dont give a hell what anyone says, i wish i had one of those. beats gas.

  • FYI, my brother is a chasis engineer for Tesla and they are working on developing their own chasis for a sedan model.

  • I hope you are talking about the third model that Tesla will release later.

  • awfull music used

  • Yes the chassis is Lotus Elise based.

It's sad that the Tesla offers such credibility to electric cars but will fail to be the future - batteries never will be.

Honda's fuel cell approach looks infinitely better in that it has none of the battery limitations on range or performance.

  • Fuel cells are inefficient. Hydrogen production is highly inefficient.

Batteries are getting better and better. Tesla is moving in the direction of developing new parts for their future cars.

  • You hit the nail on the head. Not only is Hydrogen still a good 20 years down the road, but the batteries are getting cheaper! Sure, the battery storage capacity is getting better, but the bottom line tells the story!

  • ? Is this american newscast for important economic things?

looks like a stupid commercial for Playstation car races.

  • Great, now they're going to run another company into the ground.

  • damn the car is nice eh

  • so... did daimler claim bankruptcy or is it going to try and build itself back up to what it was?

  • HOLY FU*K i bet that wirleybird can fly to space

  • - L'hanno sviluppata su telaio e carrozzeria della Lotus Elise.

    Niente male !!

  • p.s. That brown shirt is just nasty!

  • Piss on your company for copying the AVRO logo.

    bloody wankers! >:O

  • porcaria!!!!!!!!!!!

  • son daccordo ! Una trappola !

  • A bateria não pode ser Motorolla...

  • you know, your ad is very annoying.

  • LOOK MY VIDEO

  • your video is a piece of shit . IL TUO VIEDO E UNA VERA MERDA. I LOVE ITALIA

  • This was a commercial for there web site.

    No mention of Daimler.

I want my 2 minutes back.

  • wouldnt this car run up your power billl...just saying cause they plugged it in the power let

  • yes it would, thats why you take it to a school parking lot, and plug it in there ;)

  • HAHAHA nice thinking.lol but then i hate goin to school everyday...so then i would like have to push it there if it was out the neXt day :D

  • this car is not even worthy to bare the name "Tesla" Nicola Tesla would spit on this car if he seen it!! this man changed the world as we all know it and this is the recognition he gets..a car that runs off of electricity produced from nucular and fossil fuels.....very sad world we live in

  • And Nicola tesla used elctricity that came from what?

  • ionesphear

  • would he spit on it if the electricity came from renewable resources?

  • yeah the same nucular/fossil fuel sources that you are currently using to be on the internet asshat.

it may not be perfect, but the Tesla is a good start AND the amount of power used to power it up is way less than the combustion car it seeks to replace.

  • get a life.

  • do a barrel roll

  • Our future is Nuclear and Binary ;)

  • The only logical answer to the issue is to start creating a pure electric transportation network now by phasing out internal combustion engines whilst we continue to replace crude energy sources like coal fide with clean renewable energy process. Ultimately, fusion power is inevitably going to revolutionize how we perceive power, it's abundance and it's cost. The best thing we can do is make sure that our infrastructure is already pure electric by the time fusion becomes common place. ;)

  • Finding the technology is only the one part. Making it cheap enough to be used everywhere is another thing. And the so called moguls, will find another thing to own the economy. No matter if it will be the batteries, the different parts needed for a solar station or something else. There is not a 100% free for the people solution, I guess this is clear for everyone ... Since we all do things for money, also scientists, only the source will change ... nothing else.

  • I agree on the whole story about electric power. Of course like posted here, it's a perfect story. Not to forget, when electric energy will be main source, then other things will get more expensive. Like all that moduls, etc. The economy will recreate itself (well they will rewrite the whole thing actually ... ). Nano-wire batteries are good, but the point is, how much will be the cost to build a car like that. Cause you understand, that to be used globally, a cheap solution is needed.

  • The only reason why electric cars are so costly now is limited production & the obvious restrictions created by the corrupt, monopolized industry. Pure electric cars do away with most of the mechanical hardware related to existing design. Fewer moving parts & less that need be replaced regularly = a cheaper product. Nano-Wire is a revolution that will effect everything from laptops to cell phones. This is going to drive the price down very quickly. Yet is still comparable in price to Lion...

  • I agree with you thevoicefreason02.

Corrupted and monopolized indutry are buying battery patents and jacking prices.

  • lol thats funny. "The economy will recreate itself (well they will rewrite the whole thing actually ... )"

I dont think you quite understand what the economy is : D

P.S. electric energy will never be a main source because... its not a source. its only a way of store energy. Hydrogen will be the futur main source of energy.

  • Actually he's right on the ball. Our global economy is based upon crude, if that runs out & nothing takes its place our entire infrastructure will collapse over night. Be it microchips or batteries, something needs to fill the void for the economy to adapt. By going pure electric there will no longer be a controlled substance that can be monopolized like oil has been, hydrogen is more of the same. Raw electricity is something we can generate ourselves, its gives people some merit of control...

  • I guess you either live on the moon or act, as you do not get what I mean. Excuse me if I do not give a damn about what you think people can understand or not. Let me explain better. The values of today will be changed with other values. If they go for electric cars, no matter electric energy aint a source in the meaning as petroleum is, they will find a way to control things.

  • my last post was answer to jeeps005 ...

  • I know, don't stress. It's really refreshing to converse with a person that presents logical and well thought out points. Thanks, its just what I needed to subdue the many retarded replies Ive had in here.

  • "B-roll" - lol

  • Wonderful. I guess noone knows what happened to the Electric Cars of the 90's...

All gone, all because the Oil Cars invested in them.

  • 2 words... TOP GEAR !!

  • "The Auto Channel Theres Nothing Else Like it" ! Um how about Top Gear ! ! ! ! ! And i dont care how fast that thing goes Electric cars can GO SUCK IT ! ! ! ! !

  • so can you, aj

  • 0-60 mph in less than 5 sec :D

  • Lotus 2-Eleven, based on Exige-S, which followed the Elise (basically they are all a chain), 670kg, 252bhp, 0-60 3.8 sec ... ;)

  • that was definitely some b roll footage. they forgot to add the part where they talk about daimler buying out part of tesla.....

  • How come they never show electric or hybrid cars going up a hill?

  • This car takes 16 hours to fully charge... That means doing 1000 km will take near 50 hours

  • It seems the whole purpose of the video is to send you to read the story on the website. That's deceptive and abusive....Will find it elsewhere....

  • so they can sniff their own farts... no i'm just kidding. they did it to gain attention first, and that they did. A lot of people (rich or not) like performance and tesla proved that electric cars can have excellent performance. They're plan is to make more affordable ev's after that.

  • ...um Daimler Chrysler just aquired a stake in what? Didn't they just go bankrupt. Maybe they should go buy more stuff..

  • Daimler sold Chrysler in 2007. They no longer own the brand.

  • yeeeee haw

  • im not a pussy, your just a retard with no ass.

  • que carros tan bonitos....desde colombia!!

  • Tesla the company not the car genius. that was the Tesla roadster, just because it was in the video doesn't mean anything. this is just a commercial for Daimler and Tesla. of course the four seater is in the deal because they invested in the company not just one car, that would be stupid. jesus think before you speak...

  • You're a fucking fag too

  • CAN BE BETTER. CAR ON WATER!!!

  • Just really looking forward for the Tesla Model S

    Can't wait... ;)

  • Dont be too excited

This car runs on lithium ion battery which the proven strategic reserve is barely enough to make 10 million cars only. Western countries are struggling in communicating with Bolivia president coz he has 90% of the world lithium. And thats makes tesla cars very unique piece to own

    Try Again!

  • Provide some sources for these claims.

  • False. Bolivia holds 50% of the worlds reserves. Won't be too much of a limiting factor though cos batteries are easily recycled.

  • i like reading the fight between thevoiceofreason and seedofunderstanding. how can either of them be wrong. btw video sucks

  • Easily, one thinks it's a good idea to stop advancing science and technology towards obtaining a clean, cheap, relatively and ultimately endless source of power because its taken too long to get as far as we have. Whilst the other thinks it's imperative to continue and finish what was started for the good of the species. Fusion is our future on Earth and in space, it's the one process of generating energy that has the potential to fuel our ever expanding technological culture.

  • Seems like a nice car geared toward a niche segment of the market. Not everyone who is interested in electric cars can use nor wants a roadster, it is also very expensive. I wish they could eventually take this technology and put it into other types of vehicles, e.g. I could really use a sedan or pickup truck that is electric.

  • Electric pickup.. were do i sign up?

  • the eestor capacitor

    real or fake?

  • I havent seen a working prototype of EEstors magic capacitor, Im not sure if anyone has. The Nanowire battery on the other hand is being run through its paces right now and is expected to become mass produced as early as late next year to replace and revolutionize every lithium ion reliant device. Laptops that run for over 24 hours and electric car batteries that could be charged in less time than it takes to fuel todays guzzlers. This battery technology is long overdue! It's about time!

  • cool sounds like good stuff

  • I really doubt that oil moguls will allow this to pass. You have to consider that legislators govern for the rich. Some of the richest in the world are oil moguls. There is a direct mandate upon governments to legislate against electric cars.

Even so, amazing technology, and in the right context, very exciting.

  • Indeed. That's why they are so intent to create a hydrogen economy, it's a substance that can be controlled much like oil is. So in 50 years we'll find ourselves in the exact same position we are now, slaves to a monopolized economy. The only way to free ourselves from the status quo is the realization of an electric society. Energy can't be controlled like substance can, If they charge to much Ill buy a solar panel throw up a wind turbine and make my own damn power. The change is ours to make.

  • Agreed!

  • Hell, America went to war for oil and killed 1000s of people, let alone leting them pass this off, This is why no one knows of Nikola Tesla. Oil monguls are the richest people along with being the ones in goverment.

  • hay glad to see some ones seeing the truth. oil rich rosschild fuckers and NWO look it up YO

  • Common sense is not longer common, the only freedom anyone really has is the ability to generate their own opinions.

  • true

  • why fake?

  • show me the evidence of a contained sustained fusion reaction which produces more energy than is required to initiate and maintain the reaction and I might become a believer? anything is possible but that doesnt mean it exists oh and the sun doesn't count ;p

  • thaaaaank

  • getho

  • the tesla is very unreliable. It is very heavy and thus does not handle well. It takes 16h to charge and even if tesla say it can do 250miles it does not. It also costs £80'000 OUCH!

hydrogen cars are the way forward and in california (america) you can now fill up hydrogen at your petrolstation.

but cars will never be green (we pollute to make them, we pollute to get the fuel) but they will never take off for the simple reason that oil makes ALOT of money for our governments and thus the banks.

  • If we were to replace Tesla's lithium Ion with Nano-Wire it's weight will be decreased, it's performance increase dramatically and it's range furthered to near 500 miles or more. Then alter the global automotive standard from internal combustion to electric and the price will be cut by more than half due to mass production. Hydrogen is not the answer, it's a waste, an and expensive one at that. The only responsible, logical answer is electric...

  • Tesla say 250miles now, but it does more like 60-70miles. yes electris is good, but in what way is it better to charge for 16houres rather then filling up with hydrogen just like normal petrol? Hydrogen cars are electric cars, but instead of batteries, they have their own "powerstation". Where does the electric come from to charge up a battery car?

  • Dude u do know wat u wrote makes little to no sense, "Hydrogen cars r electric cars"??? The hydrogen is actually super cooled to minus more than 200 degrees and is in liquid form. And where does the elctricity come from it comes from your fucking outlet in your wall like any electricity would for a product u would have at ur house when not in use.

  • Hydrogen, i assume you mean the element H in water? To split water in Oxigen (O2) and Hydrogen (H) you need to electrify water. So in fact, you still need to use electricity to produce Hydrogen...

Also,i don't think Hydrogen gets cooled, but put under pressure, which makes it cool down to -200 degr.

  • trying to be a smartarse?

the electric that comes out of your outlet needs to come from some where? like a Nuclear, Oil, Gass, Coal, etc. powerplant. Hydrogen is pressurized to make it liquid and is cold because of that. Hydrogen cars run electric motors? i think you might find they do. When Oxygen and Hydrogen "fuse" together to produce H2O they produce a small electic chage that can be harnessed to drive and electric motor. What is so hard to understand? so you see they are electric cars!?

  • Well, electric cars aint that "green" too, keyword is "batteries" ....

  • So true....most people also don't know that most of the world's rare earth metals that are used to make these cars come from China. So without rare earth metals, no cars are going to get built. Toyota has been quietly stock-piling the rare earth metals to make sure they don't have to stop production. This is really serious stuff...check it out and make a search on the net.

  • Get the big companies the fuck out of there. They screwed up their own companies, don't mess with something that has promise.

  • How

  • Not gonna lie that i s a hella tight car.

  • hydrogen is the answer for the future, electric car are already deads, no future to electric car I preview...

  • True pure Electric cars are dead it's charging times are not efficient for daily use.

Hydrogen cars are the future but Hydrogen cars also use an electric engine the only difference is that it derives it's electricity from Hydrogen not charging so this acquisition makes sense because Tesla already has one of the most advanced electric motors out there.

  • Are you retarded? Hydrogen is never going to take off, it's too expensive and the technology associated with its application is as well. Pure electric is the future, modern batteries allow fantastic range, can be recharged quicker than to refuel a car with gas, provide comparable performance, are clean, stable, safe and cheap to produce. To only issue is where the electricity comes from, more research of fusion platforms and more nuclear planets. No more oil, no more coal.

  • are clean? How do you think those batteries are produced...sigh

  • Nano-Wire batteries which are made from silicon are soon going to replace the Lithium ion platforms which are typically made of carbon. These new batteries hold up to 20x the amount of power, are safe, easy to manufacture and lightweight. This will not only increase performance of electric cars, but give them a range no other fuel can possibly compete with. This is a revolution that will forever change how all mobile electric devices operate and behave. Electric is the future...

  • "Nano-Wire batteries which are made from silicon " - False, they still contain lithium ion/"These new batteries hold up to 20x the amount of power" - False, it's 10 times/"are safe" - false, lithium ion has always been more risky, check fire reports statistics/"lightweight" - false, you exaggerate/"easy to manufacture" - false, not easier than traditional Lithium ion, actually slightly more involved/"This is a revolution" - false, exaggeration/"Electric is the future... "-True

  • Your quite an asshole arnt you...

Nano-Wire is lighter, safer, cleaner, cheaper to manufacture, does hold up to 20x more power (10x was in mid 2007) and is a revolution of battery technology.

Nuclear waste in a conventional sense is able to be maintained and does not have anywhere near the environmental effect that others such as coal fide plants do. Fusion power is indeed very clean, the panels used in the reactors are stored for 10 years and can then be reused. You do some research!

  • Hydrogen will never take off, never.

  • where on this earth did you find your facts? electric cars can take hours to charge, whereas filling up a hydrogen car takes the same time as filling up a car now. have you heard of the Honda Clarity FCX or GM's Sequel? Pure hydrogen cars. Have equal or greater range than any electric car, and performs like a regular car, without the need to plug it into the grid (which btw gives off emissions) for at least 4 hours.

  • New technologies allow the complete charge of an automotive scale battery in less than 5 minutes. The electricity used in electric cars can be produced by any means eliminating the additional manufacturing required to produce a fuel. Hydrogen on the other hand may be the most abundant element in the universe but always combines with other elements that need be broken down. That manufacturing process uses as much energy as the hydrogen it produces gives out. Such a needless waste...

  • Electric cars should be the only option, the only reason why the technology is not being utilized and pushed is because the industrial superpowers whom maintain the status quo by controlling oil see hydrogen as yet another substance that they can control. They could, and chances are they will. Logically, we would put money into the research of applied commercial fusion power which would supply a relatively endless, low cost and clean source of energy which electric cars could utilize.

  • "we would put money into the research of applied commercial fusion power which would supply a relatively endless, low cost and clean source of energy which electric cars could utilize. "

Fusion is no clean source of energy, do some research.

  • You didn't even know that NanoWire existed before i mentioned it, just now you ran off to skip over three year old reports of the technology when it was in its infancy to justify any kind of reply. Fusion power is extremely clean, do you even know what a fusion reactor is or how it works? Thus far you havent brought any new information to the plate, just reiterated mine without proof or data. Say something original or at least bring some evidence to the conversation.

  • Fusion Power? you must mean Fission power. Yeah its clean but very dangerous if the power plant isn't maintained properly.

FYI Fusion power is still not a reality (duplicating the sun is hard to do), Fission power is and has been for a while now. Nuclear Fission reactors are a very wasteful way of boiling water to spin a turbine with the steam.

  • I'm talking about fusion, not fission...

Magnetic confinement fusion has been achieved many times by the Joint European Torus. The ITER, due to be completed in 2018 is expected to maintain pulse for 15 seconds and generate over 500MW. When we are able to maintain the pulse the amount of power produced in one week will be equal that of all thermal energy produced by our species over the past 30 years. Inertial confinement fusion also a reality, Ignition at the completed NIF is expected by 2010

  • In reference to Fission, right now there are over 400 active reactors throughout 40 countries which account for nearly 20% of all energy produced globally. They remain the most effective means to generate power, which doesn't really mesh with your opinion that it's a wasteful way to boil water. Safety standards are implied in any such environment, Chernobyl's wasn't. Yet Fissions safety track record is rather impressive, deaths related to coal fide and oil rigs are a great deal higher.
