the anamorphic or the super-35 1:2.4 variant can be a bit annoying when it comes to composing close ups. The best close-ups I feel is in 1:1.85 format.
the subject of the film was such that i went for the widescreen 1:2.4 and in India every theatre prefers an anamorphic print format.
i also appreciate the beauty of hawk anamorphic lenses but dont you think somtime anamorphic creates problems in the composition in context of headrooms and lookrooms in the frame,i dont know this is my personal feeling..
YOU SHOT WITH ANAMORPHIC?!?! THATS SO COOL!!!! with everyone going digital its nice to find people who use super 35 but ANAMORPHIC thats really amazing
Hi Junoreactor05! thanks a lot for your observations. it is indeed sad that Anamorphics are slowly dying as most DoPs prefer shooting on Super 35 and then D.I. Hope to shoot more stuff on Hawke Anamorphics.
yeah, even s35 is dieing with digital. i love the film look, you just cant really replicate it with digital. what was your A camera when you where shooting that?
