Wow, the USA made better appliances 60 years ago than it does now.. What happened to us.. We make nothing now.. If we turned out stuff like this 60 years ago, we could surely build something now.
The "RCA" trademark was licensed to Whirlpool by Radio Corporation Of America in th 1950's and early 1960's. Oh, and Philips is a "Dutch" company, not Italian.
Philips is a world TRADE MARK... they never have made machines... there where made in Italy.................. don't argue with me... I have sold this appliances for over 13 year....
There are a few factorys... they make al the brands on the market... only miele, that's the only product that's unique.
In the Seventies Philips (which already owned Bauknecht) bought the italian Ignis factories and started producing white goods with both Philips and Ignis labels. In the nineties Philips ceased the white goods segment and sold everything to Whirlpool, that now produces Whirlpool Ignis and Bauknecht branded white goods
I'm curious about the miniature washer that the two puppets had at the beginning, before Fran butted in to show off her "housewife size" washer. What was that small one?
my parents bought a 1966 rca whirlpool (used from an auction place in rubidoux)and it lasted 25 years-replaced it witha direct-drive whirlpool that shredded everything(one speed, too fast)-now have a '90s maytag with 4 speed combos...
LOL!! I Love it !! the "housewife-sized washing machine"... perfect for us single guys too!
