  • I have the same exact gun, was a military infantry rifle for the russian army during WW2. Want to get scope mounts for mine ! Thanks for the vid !

  • Dude said it didn't have a safety LOL.

  • Nice stuff 'Barnaul" watch it in the dark....

It has a nice blast! (see my vid)

I also have a 91/30 with original PU scope.

  • Thanks all you guys! unforunately our private range was sort of closed down for security reasons- couple of houses to close by to shoot big calibers. I have not shot the rifle since but will post a new video as soon as I've done.

  • Hey nice gun, I have one just like it made same year.

1)It does have a saftey that round knob on the end of the bolt pull it back and rotate to the left till it catches on the reciever, it should not fire, nor should the bolt be able to be worked.

2)A lot of these rifles were sighted in with the bayonet on. And with it off it will cause the gun to shoot nearly four inches to the left due to the harmonics.

And lastly drift the front sight do not bend it!

    Hope this helps, Have fun!

  • well give me luck i have a meeting with this beast and an eddystone tommarow.

  • If you need to adjust the front sight pick, btw, you simply use a screwdriver or any other metal device to bend it left or right.

  • NO! You do NOT bend it unless it for some reason is not already vertical. Use a punch and a hammer to drift it left and right or get a sight adjusting tool called LT1.

  • Or just perform the methood that takes 2 seconds, is easier, and just as effective.

  • It just weakens the post after several bends. Although it's not that the globe sight is hard to replace. Dime a dozen.

  • Assuming you were actually shooting at a practical distance for iron sights, you should only have to adjust it once or twice, ever.

  • I have a 91/30 and it also kicks like a mule.

Try to get some surplus light ball ammo, not so brutal on the shoulder or you could reload your own.

Mine works well with 147gn .308 bullets.

There actualy is a saftey, you pull the cocking piece hard to the rear and twist to the left then the opposite to disengage.
