  • @chrisnotap First of all, more than 99.999% of the millions of cars don't stress and heat their brakes like a performance car. Performance cars upgrade their brakes so they can handle the stress. Fact: High heat and then fast cooling can make steel snap. Disc warping alone is recipe for a serious failure. Search Disc Break cracking... Yeah... ive heard about it.

  • You Know you cannot put water to the disk when they are very hot, because it would twist and not brake very good....

  • @41120381 No, brakes work fine after you put water to them. I drove it with little vibration after.

  • @chrisnotap Learn about metal tempering, when you heat a metal and then cool it quickly it warps and hardens in some cases so bad that it cracks. Putting water on hot disc brakes is a very bad idea.

  • @linespermillimeter with millions of cars on the road, wouldn't you think you'd have heard of at least one car that had hot rotors then drove through a puddle and "cracked" the rotors and needed to replace them because they were cracked. No. They only crack when you beat on them to get them off the car if they are rusted onto the hub.

  • 2:17 lol :)

  • I thought that rotor was going to popp as soon as he hosed it down with water..

    Careful !

  • @Kingsevends by pop do you mean explode?

  • @chrisnotap yes, it can explode very easy

  • how come the other wheel didn't turn 0.0

  • @afyaff the easiest wheel of least resistance will always spin just like when one tire is in snow and one on pavement, the one in the snow will spin as long as it's not a limited slip diff.

  • @chrisnotap

Crack , have seen it happen with bad caliper , pads eating the rotor..

Got so hot it cracked , it went Pop!!

I don't know how close you want to be when hot fragments come flying ..

Except we did the same thing these kids did, BUT WITH A MANS CAR ,350 v8

  • This is interesting, I often wonder how quickly the heat moves around a rotor. Thanks for posting.

  • how come the other wheel is not spinning?

  • wanna put a couple of rocks in the valve cover ?

    LAWL !!!

  • uneven wear? haha

  • it can explode when you take water on it!

    Im just saying!

  • lmao

"should we put a couple rocks in the valve cover?"

  • So.. why was the car being scrapped? Seemed to me it still had some life to go.

  • touch it

  • Nice, cooked those big time.

  • be very carefull when doing this as you can warp the rotors if your not carefull

  • @Tbolt1000TForLife the car was being scraped.

  • @chrisnotap oh, probably not a bad idea, one less foreign shitbox off the road, exception, Nissan, because those are very nice cars

  • @Tbolt1000TForLife you have never driven a Honda have you?? I won't even tell you what the mileage was on this one then. You may cry.

  • @chrisnotap yes i have driven a honda, a 1996 accord sedan with a 5 speed stick, nothing special, i like demestic cars, with the exception of nissan

  • @chrisnotap i was just kidding bro honda's are nice cars, what was the milege?

  • @Tbolt1000TForLife While I'll give you that Nissans are amazing cars, I have to say, the only thing wrong with Hondas are the owners. They're not fast, but they are reliable as hell. Toyotas, too. The only real shame is Nissan is the only one that still has any sport models. Toyota and Honda have had a good few amazing sport cars.

  • @Tbolt1000TForLife Keep talking shit about foreign cars, because your all american chevy with full plastic 'murican interior with full on overpriced shit engines that break down is so much better than a nice civic. Honda's are phenominal cars, and the engines can take a asskicking. Don't judge Hondas off of the ricers who go to wholesaleupgrade sites to buy fake intakes, because hondas are very good foreign cars. I have a 2011 mitsubishi outlander GT and lemme tell ya its luxurious and veryquick

  • @masterwolf1212 you fucking dumbass, i said i was kidding!!!

  • @Tbolt1000TForLife No you didn't, and why are you trying to be an asshole?

  • @Tbolt1000TForLife better than a burn out less poluting more fun

  • @wtl1964 so, your one of those eco faggots are you?

  • @Tbolt1000TForLife wait what no but people like you should die trolling along to any comment posted on youtube good or bad you just have to talk shit punk act your age

  • @wtl1964 hay, you first dumbass

  • @Tbolt1000TForLife case in point and to some it up im not a eco freak but it wouldnt hurt to save a lil gas and do that than do a burn out a break you rear end

  • @wtl1964 well thats good that your not an eco freak, i could care less about saving gas, i don't do burnouts because im not stupid

  • How did i end up here?

  • not sure about the flip flop comment and the connection you are trying to make. Hmmmm? The car is being scraped so cold water on the rotors was just for experimental purposes. Thanks a lot for your positive and intriguing comments though. It's a tough world when you're in R&D. Ha!

  • and that guy is in flip flops? wow your guys are fucking queers lucky did did not explode when u put cold water on it

  • @bigbobgotu Explode when putting water on it? Ever watch steel get quenched before?

  • @bigbobgotu did did?

  • Comment removed

  • "put a couple of rocks in the valve cover" lmfao they r down hahaha

  • why scrap it the ricerocket works fine. Just sell it to some hondaboy

  • You might as well rename the video "How to Warp a Rotor Intentionally"

  • @BMAN294 can you read? the car was being scraped.

  • actually the car was being taken directly to the scap yard after we did this. Thanks for your concern though.

  • what u do is really stupid cold water on it that thing can explode if you do that

    Sorry for english

  • @oudbrakkenstein it won't explode, numskull, but it will warp with that much heat

  • you should try using ice cold water next time, it will help speed the process! lol

  • nice.. light my cigar please

  • I'm supprised the differential didnt explode

  • @myvanpounds

Why would it explode. It's perfecly safe to have one wheel locked, it's the whole point.

  • @snedie69er with one wheel locked and one spinning the spider gears inside will have to spin at a rate that isnt seen during normal driving conditions. I've had open differentials blow up during burnouts and whatnot due to the increased speed the spider gears had to spin

  • @myvanpounds

The spider gear spins at the same rate had both wheels been rotating or not. What changes is the amount of torque going to the driven wheel.

If you diff exploded when doing something stupid like wheel spinning, the only reason was becuase the amount of torque been delivered to the diff was greater than been delivered to the ground by the wheels resulting in a stress fracture.

  • @snedie69er actually only the carrier would spin at the same rate.. however the spider gears are a different story. in a situation like this where one wheel is stationary and one wheel is rotating the spider gears would be spining quite fast inside the carrier... in a situation where both tires are rotating the exact same speed they will be stationary inside the carrier.

  • welp your rotors are done for lol

  • Another facinating study done by the team at P.R.T.(Paton Research& Technology)
