It hit #1 on my way moving from the midwest to western Oklahoma while on the drive. Wow! memories. Dagnabbit I was in Tulsa when this show took place and I didn't know anything about it. Maybe it was the motor home explosion a few days before :) Wonderful song. Wonderful performance!!

Because this recording was from a live concert, it certainly wasn't the best version that I've heard of this beautiful song (although I dearly love K Urban & Sugarland), but if I'd been in the audience, I probably would've loved it!!! I never heard this song until way after S West & D Frizzell made it a #1 hit, but I just absolutely loved it by M Lambert & B Shelton when the song made #6 on the voted Duets Special!!! (of course, I love Miranda & Blake & think they did a terrific on this song!!

That was one of my favorite songs back in the day of real country music. Not like a lot of the stuff today. I met the man of my dreams in 1981 when we both were in the military. The year of this song. But my stupidity I lost track of him 26 years ago and had been looking for him since. And recently found him in Tulsa. He's the reason God Made Oklahoma! Never imagined him there.
