  • the bass player is really young

  • RIP to the brother Don Soul,Peace and Love

  • Watching this video makes me long for the times "people played instruments"; it pisses me off when there are so many cuts being made and have been made to the school arts & music programs. We are missing the boat here so much talent was seen back in that day. It's really sad that we now have less and less of the arts & the "talent" that made the US so well known for this type of product and inspired so many people around the world.

  • @gingersmack It was done on purpose.Part of this sinister nwo take over updated slavery, genocide, eugenics, population control.People were haviing way to much so these evil people behind this madness, were jealous losing control. They can't relate to evil and sinister to.They would rather oppress the masses and destroy the planet for some strange twisted reason.

  • i want this played at my funeral

  • Such a great Track! makes me want to cut up that one part with the escalating synth sound

  • A Classic

  • ...aún en mi niñez escuchaba los antiguos vinilos del Funk de los 70...

  • Smooth...Roll A Blunt And Zone Out To This

  • check out the outfits!!!!!

  • This Song is simply TIMELESS !!!

  • The great 80s that framed the music of Summer madness, broken wings, life s what u make it, out of touch, toto africa, crocket's theme and many more evergreen songs are never replaceable ,even after 3 decades i see ppl tuning up to listen this songs...80s music are natural and are unlike the present day songs which mixes too much of technology and making the music look artificial

  • pop nowadays has nothing on this, this is music. i barely listen to chart music nowadaya anyway. it's not very often that an alternative music act will get into the charts, it's all samey, dancy, teeny boppy shit, like what my sister listens to. everyone is entitled to their own musical preference, but some people just listen to the talentless

  • I remember hearing this played every night at the end of pillow talk on 100.3 wmic when I was in high school in the 1990's and making love to my first girlfriend as this played on the radio. It has a great sound to it and I agree gaga, bieber and all that music stinks. Bring back good ol slow jams like this

  • my uncle was a session musician during the period of soul music and has told me that once the corporate suits walked in thus taking over the music industry,it left no room for creativity which we hear on SUMMER MADNESS! the days when these artist could tell the label when they were finished with the album and the record label believed in the creativity.............is remaining independent and continue to support artist like kool and the gang, slave, zapp, midnight starr, confunkshun, p-funk!

  • unbeliavable......Don Cornilious & Kool & the Gang!!!

  • kooooooooooool,

  • all i can say is.....damn, what happen real soul music !

  • Who is Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and others ?!?!?!? My God, this is music, this is music, KOOLLLLLLL AND GANGGGGGGGGG!!!

  • With this you just want to get tight with your lady.. and move around the floor .. and this music is to take you back to a better time for Music. Thank God i was around for that...

  • classic

  • ABSOLUTE TUNE

  • that guitar solo gives me chillz, music just isnt the same like it was in the 70's, keep this alive.

  • This cut is timeless and one of the main reason's why so many people are mentally screwed and fcked up comes from listening and being exposed to trashy,sell-out commercial type music and watered down so-called entertainers. Most of these people on drugs, doing all these shootings, killing their selfs, abusing kids and wife have been exposed to all types of wack type media.Any kids of today reading this ? Do yourself a favor and leave wack updated minstrel coon type rap music alone. A disgrace

  • Comment removed

  • @FrenchFlower1 The late Ricky West was Kool and the Gang's original keyboardist, with Khalis Bayyan (aka Ronald Bell) playing keyboards (and tenor sax) as well.

Definately one for blasting out 100% volume at home or in the car.

One of the best intrumentals EVER.......PERIOD!!!!!!

  • @TheCaulfield1 i would ride around in my car with two 12s and an alpine cd player blastin away... shit was hella loud

  • wow how cool is this

  • Kool and the Gang were Muslims under the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. They were on another level spiritually. The influlence of this great man influenced many musicians. Take it or leave it.

  • Listening to this, these brothers were on a higher level to do this.

It's ironic how the whole country has been reduced to being stupid

and ignorant all across the board. It's a form of mind control and brainwash

    via the mainstream distorted media.

I wonder why do people be stupid and even watch mainstream tv today

  • good weed and a soft drink.

  • Nothing like real musicians. This is before J.T. was the lead singer I guess.

  • this sound is so timeless, unbelievably good

  • my goodness that guitar sounds so, darn, good

  • AMO QUESTO PEZZO...UNICOOO......

  • Wish I could experience a studio session with these guys back then. Expression in music was so different..

  • Where has music gone?? Mainstream junk like gaga and beiber is nails on a chalkboard after you hear cuts like this, and im 19. What i wouldn't give to be in that era and see live the original Kool & The Gang. You really feel Claydes energy and spirit through the strings on that guitar, God bless you my brother for founding this wonderful wonderful array of real musicians.....

    RIP Claydes Charles Smith

  • @Perer90 cheers man, and btw i am 19 years old, too

  • @tommyka91 Cheers to you my friend for taking the time to upload art for us all to enjoy :) Have a good summer!!

  • @tommyka91 wa ha, i m 23, and from Taiwan, cheers bro!

wheres the real music? its here i think!!!!!!!!!

  • @tommyka91 Yeah cheers, & I just turned 21yrs old.

  • @Perer90 Hi not sure how to post comment that's not a reply to one in particular. two things on this amazing post: does anybody know what synth that is, and if that's really what's going on that's a pretty cool accident about one side of the stereo field missing with the rhodes tremolo sounding that way

  • @Perer90 couldn't said it better

  • @Perer90 You want music to change? Tell your friends to stop buying the crap that's on the radio, stop watching tv shows that play record label contract music, stop using myspace, and facebook, hell, even youtube, which all support modern industry. You can't get change without real change that starts with the youth. So, literally, STEAL a bunch of justin beiber cds then burn them in a pile and upload the video to the news. Better yet, start killing pop singers. Really. Thats the only way.

  • @Perer90 Charles Claydes Smith is such an underrated guitarist in my opinion one of the best of his kind.

  • @Perer90 Indeed. RIP, also, to the late Robert "Spike" Mickens, who put this one together for us all to enjoy.

  • @Perer90 I'm in full agreement and I'm only 16; depressing looking back and seeing how far popular music has fallen.

  • Pure mellow FUNK.

Black america got souled out with all this crossover commercial chessy

    radio BS.

  • @gat333 Do you mean sold out? I agree though. Basically, once white America embraces any type of our music it gets diluted. That's not a racial statement, it just means that when whites become the target audience, everything that made that type of music unique becomes manufactured and repetitive. For the younger people, just compare Hip Hop of today with the stuff from 15 years ago. There are always people willing to sell out for the money. I'm sure this will be misinterpreted, but hey.

  • @yorickman

Peace,I do mean souled out. Look how crazy, distorted a lot of black people

act young and old. From my own view and observastions.

The watered down music and watered down ignorant tv shows and movies

are the main thing that is doing this.

If anybody had any real sense, they would not support this distorted trash

and make sure to protect their kid's from it.

Folks are being tricked with this paper money trick.

The money value is inflated and it's coming to light now.

  • when i listen to this song it paints a picture in my mind and, makes me wonder why i listen to the trash i listen to.

  • On This One You Gotta Watch The Sunset With A Coqnac And Weed

    And Relax Your Mind

  • @oharrevelt

that's exactly what I used to do w/my lady at the time..one of the all-time greats..

  • This has to be one of the coolest songs ever made...

  • @Caligula138

exactly what many of us thought then and still do..

  • Oh shit Dj Premiere Deep Concentration. Man this is too much whoooooooooooooooa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • RIP Claydes Smith. You are gone but not forgotten, your memeory lives on through clips like this. Thanks.

  • wow what a groove and yes that p bass sound FAT! music needs to make a comeback its just a matter of time

  • I always thought this song was way ahead of it;s time....great stuff.

  • Man, that FAT P-Bass is coooooool!!

  • nice post---but you are missing one side of the stereo field. that's why the electric piano part sounds so different.

  • This record is a masterpiece. One of my all time favourites.

  • I couldn't agree more.

This song is a track that will turn any moment into an intimate one.

Even a cruise thru the city will feel like paradise

when you pop this into the deck

    and set it on repeat--

'cause you know you're gonna wanna hear it

over and over and over again.
