I LOVE THIS SONG HEHE ... i play bari sax and i rock the solo ... i just love the solo... i play the dang solo even when we stoped playen that song ^^ ive been out of band over a year and i still can play that solo *tear* im such a jazz band geek
I play bass for my schools second jazz band, my first year doing jazz, and we're playing this song. I think the only reason I really like it so much is the fact that I finally get a sweet bass like to play instead of just stupid walking lines.
That's gotta be the piano player or something, we definitely didn't use any vibraphones or whatnot.
I play trumpet, but it's hard to tell which one is me... we're behind the trombones, and judging by the hair I think I'm the one in the middle... but we had four trumpets and I don't see the fourth one... meh.
It wasn't my favourite either, I preferred playing Night Train and Stomping At The Savoy, but for some reason when we performed this one, we ended up going at double the speed! My music teacher was quite surprised! I blame the drummer...
What part did you play? I played first, although I've actually played all four, we touched on it last year then a few of the trumpets left so I immediately shot up to cover first!!! How big's your jazz band, ours is a fair size considering we're a small rural high school in Central Scotland with 800 pupils maximum... that's a point, where abouts are you?
I played first... We got three trumpets (plus our band director at this concert), three trombones, two drummers, a pianist, a bassist, and however many saxophones; I don't really care.
I live in metro-Detroit (not sure if you know where Detroit is or not but meh). But! My mom's from Scotland!
Haha, don't care about the saxes, eh? Well, I suppose that's only natural for a brass player! If you mean Detroit the American city, yeah I know where that is. :P Two drummers, never seen a band with two drummers before, but then again, that's me. We've got four trumpets, four trombones, five saxophones, a drummer, a pianist and two guitarists...I think I remembered everybody!
OMG! my junior high school played this song! it was honestly my favorite song when i got to play it! haha :)

Honestly it was my least favorite. Chicken Scratch was great though; we played that last year...
I bet I would like this song better if I was a Saxophone player... are you?

No, I'm a trumpet player. What do you play?

Yeah, I play trumpet too. That's our director playing third trumpet... seems like he has more light on him than anyone else lol
