Really interesting :D And fun music! :D And your cat in the way as usual :D Hm, your camera got some kind of weird thing that makes youtube glitch while processing :D
Nice build of the AES transmitter. I built a version of this myself. Check it out on my channel. Out of curiosity, how long of an antenna are you using?
If you like listening to old time music on that radio, you should head to archive.org and search for "big band remotes". They have a couple collections with a ton of that stuff in them.
Not bad at all! I love the way your camera buzzes and the cat shows up! Perhaps the cat has an AM tuner or is, ah, "radioactive"! What it does when unplugged sorta makes sense...the tube continues to emit electrons since the heater stays warm for a while.
Both of my AM transmitters are in the solid state realm. I have a Talking House unit (quartz synthesized) and an AM stereo (!!) capable unit (kit built) from fellow Youtuber fortyfiveplayer, who did "one last production run".
Hey nice transmitter you built! And I like the label you made. it looks just like something you'd see on a radio from the 1940s or 50s. And that transmitter sounds awesome too! What kind of range does it have?
All it needs now is a metal mesh cabinet to protect it from the cat hehe
I also have that exact same Sony Diskman, I hate how it beeps though. I always turn that off lol
You gotta find some old radio broadcasts from the '30s and listen to it on the Philco!
@wilkes85 it will broadcast all through my house and line of sight outdoors I can get it to broadcast about 100 Ft. I definitely want to get some old 30s radio shows!
@coolbluelights Oh wow that's amasing for that tiny little thing! Also, does it broadcast on a set frequency, or can you adjust it? And could you increase the range with a big antenna?
Sweet vid of the AM xmitter!!

Great! You'll make good use of that transmitter, you did a good job building it. That is a very nice Crosley radio too.

If I did not have My Knagging Wife disturbing Me I'd have time to do these kinds of projects. Just love Old Electronics.

Probably when you unplug it, the bias voltage drops off more quickly than the plate voltage, so that's why it gets loud and distorted.
