help! - do I go for 7d or 5dmk2? - i love the sensor on 7d and 8 fps - I will shoot wedding and portraits mainly, as well as press....PLEASE HELP ME DECIDE! - Thank you
Wow... Another GREAT Review... Just watched some of Canon Eos 7D Review, I think people who just bought Canon 5D Mk II would cry when they see this video...
I would wait until you actually SEE The final image quality vs the review. The review fo rthe 50d was also a jump of the gun..... But i am also eager to see the end result!
Not only full of feauters, but also the IQ to go with it.
At low ISO, easily class leading resolution.
At high ISO, surpricingly the 7D still is class leading capturing more detail, and still manage to control noise very well, despite the high megapixelcount!
@sct911 Why wouldn't you? The only choices are 5D II, the 1D IV, and the 7D. Considering that the 5D and the 1D are sub 5grand and sub 12 grand respectively and the 7D is sub 3 grand, why wouldn't you buy one considering the quality, specifications, 18mp, and price !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@sct911 in case you haven't ordered it (or if anyone else is thinking about this as a first DSLR), i wouldn't.. Not that it's not great (i own one), but i recommend starting with a mid range ie1000d, 450d use the rest of the money to purchase a some good glass (prime lenses!). after two years and one (or even two) more lenses, order it. i got carried away and now i'm stuck with a standard kit lense from my 1000d, a cheap sigma macro and a cheap (but very good) prime lense. trust the glass counts
I still shoot with a 20d. 20d was a fantastic camera in its day. It ruled the 2004's and 2005's.

@doyoulikechocolate DigitalRevCom has a great comparison.
Just search: DigitalRevCom 5D vs 7D head to head

@doyoulikechocolate Have you ever heard of Google?!

Warning. Start small. End big. :)
This is not the beginner's camera thing most of you are looking for :)
To fully maximize the capability of this monster, you need L lenses, filters and some lighting stuff.
My 2 cents.

this man....he is unworldly. great video !! definitely worth getting

It is pretty amazing noise performance.
The 100% crops are very similar to the D300S's, which is a real achievement, considering how much extra resolution this camera has.

YES! I have got it, and OMG its awesome!!!

Well, you won´t be disappointed if you do..
There are of course many cheaper models that are great too, like the 500D/XSI depending on what features you want and how thick your wallet is.. ;)
If money is no problem, get the 7D!!
MBrostroem 2 years ago
Wrong, If money is no problem then you would get a Canon 1d Mark 4. Or if money and convenience is no problem then get a Hassablad Digital
roguexantic 2 years ago
Well, at the time of my statement, there was no 1D Mk4.. ;) ..that is now of course true..
