  • I'm white hispanic and mother of two black boys, because my husband is black american. Ignorant people says that "negroes" can't cope with all of the suffering from the past. Yeah right, the thing is that they was abused, murdered and battered like no other human beings, just for the fact of their dark skin. Im greatly disappointed because is this day and time and my kids are still being victims of racist teachers, school mates etc. KKK people should be hunted down and burned alive too.

There were few whites that wanted non segregation, nd if I was born then, I sure would've joined the marches.... I'm white, and I hate the idea of segregation ... • Watch out for the wool poo!

All of the books by Christopher Paul Curtis are good. I met him once and he's a great down to earth guy with lots of funny stories. If you liked The Watsons go to Birmingham, you would probably like "Elisha of Buxton". It's about a boy named Elisha and is set in a town comprised mostly of former slaves in Canada during the mid 1800s and has themes about the horrors of Slavery.
