@dave2500xx I personally love them. I use wooden for classical still, but for anything else I swear by synthetic. Bari brand plastic reeds give a flat sound. Plasticover are over. And the Bari star plastic reeds aren't organic feeling. I use Fibracell brand synthetics.
Thanks, it's definitely a somewhat unique tone. In the grand scheme of things though, I'm hesitant to make a judgment of whether it's good or bad. *shrug*
The fibracell reeds were about 7 to 10 bucks when I started playing, I think they might be in the neighborhood of 10 to 13 these days. I'm pretty sure woodwind brasswind has them. Also, be sure to get them a touch softer than you're used to because they don't need wetted and don't loosen up except over weeks/months of playing.
Nice! You have a Mark VI!?!?!? Man that is one sweet horn! I have a Selmer Oboe, of about the same quality, but my sax collection has nothing to compare to that VI of yours. Way too cool fer school! My jealousy of you now borders on the pathological...
Oh it's definitely not mine. I was able to borrow it from my dad's girlfriend for years, but it's definitely hers. That's why I only get to play it over the holidays.
You know, I used to play that all the time when I was younger. In high school I actually played it at the Indianapolis Children's Museum on soprano saxophone. I could probably be convinced to put a vid of that up, but it'll have to wait until I get back to my hometown again.
fantastic song...can you give me your sheet music? Thank you

You have a very amazing tone. I've never seen the music, that's why I asked.

Totally just saw your comment, sorry about that. I just moved. Anyway, I don't remember where I got them but I remember that a simple google did it.
