@PsyLiq If you are being serious...a bookie is an American slang word for a gambling facilitator. Example, a person presents odds on a sports event on a likelihood of a team possibly winning. Gamblers bet and either win or lose money depending on if the team won or lost the game. Like stated in the movie clip, bookies require a fee or portion of winnings for facilitating the bet.
pork bellies which is used to make bacon, which you might find in a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, lol his expression is jokes when he looks at the camera
@Shwetank1 It's funny how many people don't actually understand this scene. A bookie is NOT a gambler. Regardless of whether the Yankees win or lose, or whether Obama gets re-elected, or countless other things that bookies take bets on, the bookie always comes out ahead. That's because the odds given by the bookie are rigged to implicitly contain a commission. Just like a casino pays out 35 to 1 on roulette but the odds are actually 37 to 1.
i still think the best scene of the movie was when Ankroyd was drunk in the santa suit and Murphy went after him. When he found him just about to exit the building he called his name and he replied "BBAALLRG!!" xD
Very clever scene . It says plain and simple that large part of US economy and even larger part of UK is nothing else than speculation bubble ready( based partially on housing bubble) to burst again because of terrible debt of both countries. West lost its manufacturing jobs to Asia looking for easy profit.UK lost its call centers and IT databases to India . Asia makes "real" money while West makes " virtual" ones that do not exist -its like selling the dream -but how long buyers believe them?
Wrong Soul4train, they're not talking slowly cuz he's black, but cuz he is a product of a bad environment; at least that is the whole point of the movie. He could just as easily be white trash, but making him black makes the hypocracy even bigger, and funnier.
I went looking specifically for this scene! Thanks for uploading. It's hilarious when Eddie looks at the camera. Hahaha. And how slow they're explaining things to him...cuz they assume since he's black they had to talk slowly. Hahaha.
It's so funny, I saw this clip for the first time the other week on tv when Nick Park was explaining that he borrowed his expression to use on Gromit in A Grand Day Out. It's priceless.
All that pomp and pride but underneath it all they're just a couple of bookies ~ LOL. That just sums up colonial aristocracy in a nutshell.
