Dont agree with his views on disabled people though why should people have to play the cards they were dealt with. Aim high if people just accepted what they had in places like the projects we'd have a lot more drug dealers and thieves on our hands.

Maher is absolutely right on this matter, it denigrates true heroes by calling these overpaid hitters/throwers of inflated balls a hero.

You're implying that any greedy asshole can just be a professional athlete. Do you have any idea how much inner turmoil a person has to go through to achieve that? All the hard work? All the time consumed keeping one's body in pique physical condition?

I'd say someone who can chart his or her own course, set high standards, and reach them through sheer will power is a hero and someone who should be considered a testament to the individual spirit.
