We're talking about a story written in a time when the country was completely torn apart by disputes and hatred. Those things are put on the shelf by situating this story somewhere else not only in location but the whole environment was different and foreign in idea to what the 16th century Englishman (or woman) knew.

In my opinion. I don`t really think girls want guys like these, romanic etc. Modern girls made them vanish, because all they want are bad boys with tattoos on their face. I can tell I used to think I could do these things for girls, to make them happy, so she could just love me for who I was. But Nooo, my ex cheated on me. I can definitely believe that true love exists like this. It's beautiful and it's something that shouldn't be lost because it seems fabricated. Yes people fight and argue but then they wake up in a new day still fascinated with each other, I don't think there's anything more powerful and true.

i've found my romeo!...on a chavs vs. geeks night at university! :') it was 3 days after my birthday, i was dressed up in a checked shirt, big glasses and high waisted shorts with white socks and brogues, couldn't have looked more ridiculous! but he said to me that night i looked gorgeous :3 he is honestly the best birthday present i have ever recieved, and i hope to be with him for the rest of my existance, he is my romeo :)
if you watch movies like this , and you find love like theirs, you know it...you recognize it and realize that all this time when you thought a love like theirs was fictitious, you were wrong....you just have to be keen enough to recognize it and cherish it , and never squander it, for it is precious and feels fantastic........

@ItsKatieHey Yeah, I've seen them. He was very good in Gilbert Grape. Also in The Departed. But beyond those roles, I am not a fan. As far as his acting in this movie, Shakespeare is not like regular acting, it is poetry. The young actors in this film don't understand the lines they're saying a lot of the time, and they have no concept of delivery. That being said, I do very much enjoy this film, despite the butchery of Shakespeare's language.

It was intriguing, magical and mysterious. Then when I was 13, during the Christmas holidays, in the morning I watched it on tv, and I got the same feeling that I got back then (in 1996). But the sensations were more intense. Today , it remains the same. So you're trully right, the 90's were fool of wonderful movies !

In my experience, what you see in Romeo and Juliet is fictional. I have been through more than the average person when it comes to the opposite sex. I have searched for 10 yrs & still haven't found it, its not for the sake of trying. Films & books give people an idealistic view of what love is like!! When this movie came out, I was 12. I fell in love with it and this song in particular. I sobbed like a baby then and I still do now. The emotion in her voice when she sings is like nothing I have ever heard before or since. At 27, I have the exp to better understand the emotions behind the words. FYI: In the movie, the expression on Leo's face when he shots Tibbult (sp?) and his body falls into the fountain....Proof he is an amazing and talented actor, as skillful as he is beautiful.
I know alot of people who rather despise this movie adaptation, but I truthfully adore it. Mostly because of this song, and the fact that the acting, and cinemtography is astounding in this film.

I can definitely believe that true love exists like this. It's beautiful and it's something that shouldn't be lost because it seems fabricated. Yes people fight and argue but then they wake up in a new day still fascinated with each other, I don't think there's anything more powerful and true.

i've found my romeo!...on a chavs vs. geeks night at university! :') it was 3 days after my birthday, i was dressed up in a checked shirt, big glasses and high waisted shorts with white socks and brogues, couldn't have looked more ridiculous! but he said to me that night i looked gorgeous :3 he is honestly the best birthday present i have ever recieved, and i hope to be with him for the rest of my existance, he is my romeo :)

@ItsKatieHey Yeah, I've seen them. He was very good in Gilbert Grape. Also in The Departed. But beyond those roles, I am not a fan. As far as his acting in this movie, Shakespeare is not like regular acting, it is poetry. The young actors in this film don't understand the lines they're saying a lot of the time, and they have no concept of delivery. That being said, I do very much enjoy this film, despite the butchery of Shakespeare's language.

Oh, and you forgot Titanic, that was an excellent movie. And don't you dare argue me on it if it wasn't it wouldn't have gotten the response that it did, or the awards. Leonardo DiCaprio is the most skilled actor of his generation and mine, but I've only heard one person say he is.

@ItsKatieHey Leonardo DiCaprio is a rather poor actor, though admittedly better than Miley Cyrus. The delivery of lines by all of the young actors (excepting perhaps John Legquizamo) was terrible. That is regrettable. Peter Postelthwaite was fantastic as Friar Lawrence.

@ItsKatieHey You're right. In 1996 I was like 7 years old, everyone were talking about that film. I saw the trailer and all the tv spots, and it haunted, me ! It was intriguing, magical and mysterious. Then when I was 13, during the Christmas holidays, in the morning I watched it on tv, and I got the same feeling that I got back then (in 1996). But the sensations were more intense. Today , it remains the same. So you're trully right, the 90's were fool of wonderful movies !

In my experience, what you see in Romeo and Juliet is fictional. I have been through more than the average person when it comes to the opposite sex. I have searched for 10 yrs & still haven't found it, its not for the sake of trying. Films & books give people an idealistic view of what love is like!! I think love should be like in Romeo & Juliet but unfortunately in this day & age it is nearly none existant! Love the video & track though!!! With music and videos liike this a girl can still hope!

When this movie came out, I was 12. I fell in love with it and this song in particular. I sobbed like a baby then and I still do now. The emotion in her voice when she sings is like nothing I have ever heard before or since. At 27, I have the exp to better understand the emotions behind the words. FYI: In the movie, the expression on Leo's face when he shots Tibbult (sp?) and his body falls into the fountain....Proof he is an amazing and talented actor, as skillful as he is beautiful.

If you're wise, you'll find somebody who loves you as much as you love them. I blame Twilight for romanticizing the suicidal aspect of Romeo and Juliet, which is just grossly irresponsible of Stephenie Meyer. If somebody you love dies, you have to go on living. And if you die, you're supposed to want that person to go on with their life as well.
