If you are truly saved you can NOT lose your salvation. Read the high priestly prayer in John 17. Jesus will not lose a single one that the Father has given Him, and no man can snatch [ a believer ] out of His hands. So if you are a true Christian, rest assured you will not lose your salvation

It's simple you believe Jesus Christ is your only savior and redeemer, and that he shed his precious blood(and died) on the cross for your sin and is now seated in Heaven next to the Father making intercession for you, than you are saved. The book "Across the Spectrum" addresses the strongest arguments for both sides and it is used by Seminaries, Colleges, Universities across the country. @TruthBringers I agree with you that God has protected His Word. However sorry to say that the KJV is not perfect. If you want to be most correct then you would need to be fluent in Greek and Hebrew. I don't want to discourage you but know that as you study you will find issues but they will not distort the message. I'll give you one example 2 Sam 24:12-14 vs 1 Chron 21"11-12. Use your KJV and remember "The Lord said". Rest assured, God has protected His Word despite minor issues.
@TruthBringers I have researched various Bibles and compared their languages in a scholarly environment. They all present some problems depending on what your ultimate goal is. KJV / NASB are great word for word translations. However, sometimes the idea behind the language cannot be conveyed easily in a word for word translation. The NIV / NLT are good at this but like you mentioned, they fall short in some areas regarding literal word meaning. BTW there are up to 30 Greek tenses.

Lol! Boy are you off! I am not that young and not at all a man. Just because a book has been published for a long time does not mean that everyone has heard of it. I feel that I am a good student of God's word and through my own searching, found that the KJV is the bible that I should read and that it is translated pretty accurately. Many books and 'theories," were written about in the 1800's, but that doesn't make them right.
But also, you should not come to the conclusion that I am not a good student of God's word, just because I chose to read and believe a different translation of the bible than the one you feel is the correct translation. You feel that you are right and I feel that I am right. Actually, I know that I am right.
I asked you what made you feel that your version of the bible was a better translated version than the one I read? What causes you to feel that the Young's Literal Translation Bible is the correct translation and mine is not? I am always curious and willing to learn new things and have learned many new things through my own reading, not just following the ideas of others. Surely you can answer that question without insults.
What makes you so sure that this version is translated correctly and that the one that I read is not? I have never heard of Young's Literal Translation.
Why would it be mentioned at all in the bible if it did not exist? You are basically telling me that some of what is written in the bible is not true. So if that is the case, who is to say which parts are true and which parts can just be considered, "Symbolic apocalyptic literature?"

Well you see, I believe that the book of Revelations is much more than Symbolic apocalyptic literature. I believe that it is a book of prophesy and will probably be fulfilled in our lifetime. That is just my opinion and what I believe. Hell is mentioned in other books of the bible as well. I don't like the way hell sounds anymore than you, but it is what I believe in my heart to be a true place. I cannot NOT believe that this place exists.

But yes I have read about Gehenna and probably know more about it than you do. About how in Israel, it was known as a location and they worshipped Molech and sacrificed children, etc, etc.. But, I know that the bible speaks of hell and how after the tribulation, the devil and everyone that follows him, will be cast into hell and they will be tormented with fire forever and ever. I cannot ignore what I have read and the words are pretty clear.

It is described in the bible as a place of fire and never ending torment. If you believe the word of God you have to believe the whole word of God and not just pick and choose the parts of the bible that makes you feel more comfortable. @TruthBringers Salvation is the work Jesus completed. We are still works in progress with the ability to follow Jesus or not. If Christians did not have a choice then Jesus would be unjust forcing salvation on those that turn away. Also, you wouldn't see the constant warnings to Christians in almost every book of the NT. Why warn Christians if salvation is guaranteed? That's like warning me not to get hit by a train when I'm swimming in the ocean. If it can't happen, why write it?
I believe that the word of God is meant for all of us. Every chapter of every book is meant for all of us to read and applies to us all. I cannot accept the picking and choosing of scripture and deciding what may be meant for me. These words apply to us all and I do not put myself in the same category as Jesus. Jesus was without sin and gave his life for us. We are expected to walk in the Spirit and to follow his teachings. We will be held accountable for our choices in life.

@danieldpaz I think pretty much we are both on the same page spreading the same message, the only difference I see is that you don't know that real genuine Christians can backslide into sin. A Christian who backslides is like a child who disobeys his parents. It does not affect his sonship but it affects his fellowship, his joy, and the approval of the Father.

Your "Self" is the cross YOU have to bear and carry about until it is crucified and leaves you free from its insatiable demands and burdens, that weigh you down and make you stumble and make your life selfish and a misery. It is not "Self" that lives but "The Anointed One" - the One whose head/mind is anointed with the "Oil of Understanding" - the oil that lubricates the "seized-up" mind and gets it working again, understanding the TRUTH or WORD of God.
Once, you have had this experience, it is echoed again in Revelation 3:7, you will dwell within your self differently than you even have before:
The Peace of God lies deeper than all knowledge of earth's wisest. In that quiet realm of the Spirit, where dwell all who are controlled by My Spirit, there can all secrets be revealed, all Hidden-Kingdom-Truths be shown and learned.
Live there, and Truth deeper than all ‘knowledge’, falsely so-called, shall be revealed to you. John 14:26
And just as the last lines of this Psalm states so well:
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
Once your Spirit as overflowed its cup and you are now a risen body (no longer in a fallen state), you are lead by the Holy Spirit. And so it is with everyone born of the Spirit. It goes where the Will of the Father sends it. Study how Christ always prayed alone in the garden. His Father showed Him His will. He will u too.
Have you read Psalm 23? How you experienced what it describes? This Psalm describes the moment you are born of the Spirit. Read it slowly and carefully.
A table is a quiet place to sit, away from the world, a place where you are alone with the Father is prayer. The High Priest (Christ) annoints your head with the oil of understanding. This releases your Spirit from its prison (the body) and it flows up and out of you, overflowing your cup. If this has not happened to you, YOU ARE NOT SAVED.
People who left the church were never truly saved. Somewhere in their heart they were still holding sin from the beginning and never repented and never understood that Jesus Christ is the King and is to be followed not question his authority.

The book "Across the Spectrum" addresses the strongest arguments for both sides and it is used by Seminaries, Colleges, Universities across the country. It is not all inclusive. 2 Pet 2:20 / Heb 6:4-6 against OSAS. The argument against: "whatever it means it cannot mean believers can lose their salvation." "Whatever" conveys uncertainty. The educated apparently acknowledge verses that people here can't. People here just want to argue blindly.

@TruthBringers I agree with you that God has protected His Word. However sorry to say that the KJV is not perfect. If you want to be most correct then you would need to be fluent in Greek and Hebrew. I don't want to discourage you but know that as you study you will find issues but they will not distort the message. I'll give you one example 2 Sam 24:12-14 vs 1 Chron 21"11-12. Use your KJV and remember "The Lord said". Rest assured, God has protected His Word despite minor issues.

@TruthBringers I have researched various Bibles and compared their languages in a scholarly environment. They all present some problems depending on what your ultimate goal is. KJV / NASB are great word for word translations. However, sometimes the idea behind the language cannot be conveyed easily in a word for word translation. The NIV / NLT are good at this but like you mentioned, they fall short in some areas regarding literal word meaning. BTW there are up to 30 Greek tenses.

I feel that I am a good student of God's word and through my own searching, found that the KJV is the bible that I should read and that it is translated pretty accurately. Many books and 'theories," were written about in the 1800's, but that doesn't make them right.

Well you see, I believe that the book of Revelations is much more than Symbolic apocalyptic literature. I believe that it is a book of prophesy and will probably be fulfilled in our lifetime. My problem is believing/telling Christians they are saved while they live a hellish lifestyle. Reading the Bible in context tells me that this is not acceptable. But yes I have read about Gehenna and probably know more about it than you do. About how in Israel, it was known as a location and they worshipped Molech and sacrificed children, etc, etc.. But, I know that the bible speaks of hell and how after the tribulation, the devil and everyone that follows him, will be cast into hell and they will be tormented with fire forever and ever. Clearly, if you read my post of God's own scripture, Christ crucifixtion has 2 functions.
Your interpretation that His death paid for the sins of the world is only half correct.
His death as the Passover Lamb fullfilled the OT Sacrafical Laws. The world is NOT saved by it.
We are GIVEN the OPPURTUNITY to be saved by it. We must "eat" that bread and "drink" that cup to have everlasting life. Hence, receive the Holy Spirit (John 14:26) and then Luke (9:27) EVERYDAY till dead.

Now you should exhibit all the qualities in Matthew 5. A nice measuring stick.

The Peace of God lies deeper than all knowledge of earth's wisest. In that quiet realm of the Spirit, where dwell all who are controlled by My Spirit, there can all secrets be revealed, all Hidden-Kingdom-Truths be shown and learned.

Once your Spirit as overflowed its cup and you are now a risen body (no longer in a fallen state), you are lead by the Holy Spirit. And so it is with everyone born of the Spirit. It goes where the Will of the Father sends it. Study how Christ always prayed alone in the garden. His Father showed Him His will. He will u too.

Have you read Psalm 23? How you experienced what it describes? This Psalm describes the moment you are born of the Spirit. Read it slowly and carefully.
A table is a quiet place to sit, away from the world, a place where you are alone with the Father is prayer. The High Priest (Christ) annoints your head with the oil of understanding. This releases your Spirit from its prison (the body) and it flows up and out of you, overflowing your cup. If this has not happened to you, YOU ARE NOT SAVED.
