Hey this is great man! I left a comment on your channel page.. Can you email this to me? I'm trying to do a drum cover of Panic Attack and the drumless version I have has been very compressed down to where bass has lost any definition or presence.I would ideally like to mix it back in a little once I'm done. I'd really appreciate it if you could do that! Or.. if you have each separate stem with the ability to just make a high quality drumless track that would be amazing too.Stevenparent@live.com

@etampier Can you be more specific about what you were disappointed with? I honestly don't like his sound at all. Too clicky and compressed. Good player, but bad tone.

@SgtZaqq Ah i know what you mean, no it's not muted, he's digging in a little less and lowered the volume of the bass (but the track level was raised to keep volume the same) The growly grind from earlier in the song comes from the Valves in the amp being driven by the massive output of his bass being accented by playing hard which is why there is less finger noise in that and later sections too :)

@SgtZaqq No worries :) There used to be an Article on the tone of this album on the amps he used website but it's not there anymore.

And yes my Bass is a Yamaha Attitude, the Billy Sheehan signature bass :)

Bass makes alot of white noise - tone isn't great.

@DukeofMonton There is very little white noise, just the sound of the strings hitting the frets. By itself it might not sound so good, but it's a tone that manages to cut through the many instruments in the band, if only by a little.

@bleh151 Pretty sure this was recorded with his JM2 (the Album was a JM2 with Ashdown Bass gear AFAIK) but it is playable on a 5!
