Oh fuck this brings back memories! Surely the greatest Doctor Who theme of all time. Far superior to the crapy theme's they used on the reboot. Bring this back! It needs the chuging of the guitar and synthesiser!

The Doctor Who theme tune from 1963 sounds better. I had to adjust my computer speaker volume because of the intro beaming sound. This show has been on for a long time.

I never got into Doctor Who until 2005 with the new series however in 2007 I went back and watched a lot of the classic series. Although Derbyshire's version is great, this one just pips it for me, it sounds so alien & out there & 30 years on (yes it's 30 years old this year!) it still sounds fantastic, oh how I wish they would use it these days.

This is my favorite version. I do like the new ones very much too, especially season 4's version. Was never keen on the 6th/7th Doctor themes. The 7th Doctor's music was somehow just tedious.

1986 theme is better, through this is better than the 1987 theme, if Season 27 had happened McCullach's theme would have been replaced by a more 1963ish style theme

Nahh there's no overdrive guitar it's all synths I agree it is by far the best version. born 77 so again baised. I think it gallops along and makes you think WOW even though the tempo is identical to the original
