That Treo had only a 1.2 megapixel camera/video camera.
The new Palm Pre has a 3.0 megapixel camera (no video, though) and the newer BlackBerries have 3.2 megapixel cameras with video -- currently planning on upgrading to the newest BB once the new phone is available. Finally...better video! :)
i live next to this airport so i always hear the airplanes landing. soo noisy. also when i drive on the freeway i can see the planes flying very low(the freeway is right next to the airport)
Actually, I was just lucky that Southwest had a jet that spent the previous night parked on a ramp here in the Western U.S. JetBlue was flying all of their planes from the East -- many of which were stuck in bad weather.
Fuel prices here in the U.S. will make airline travel much harder for us in the next several months, unfortunately.
So true, that if I could, I would +1 you on that. I hate the gas prices. One thing was the oil crunch that was two years ago, I believe that we're out of it now, but it's only the people in the middle from us and the "producers", that drives it up. Jeopardizing the market, and the entire consortium.
Cool, I was surprised that Southwest even had a plane over night (to be low fare). Airlines, lose to much grounding planes.
True, noisy. Wonder if the "next next" gen will use engines like RR or PW that are even quieter. PW are surprisingly quiet. Cargo airlines use them, and also night ops. The CFMI 56-3 and 7s really are noisy. xD
I have friends that live in Orange County, so I'm always traveling up there from PDX to SNA. I've landed there about 20 times, it's not all to fun of a approach. You never realize a difference from a regular approach into the airport. =/
oh YEAH!! I am from SoCal but live in New York now. I used to fly in and out of SNA a lot, and this really brought back memories...I enjoyed every second of it!!! I could almost feel that heavy reverse thrust. Thanks for an awesome video.
yeah the runway is onoly 5000 or so feet so its very short for commercial airliners, especially the 757. When i want to Zakynthos (Greece) the runway was 7000 and i didnt think we had enough room lol :D
The 757 can land as low as 124 knts. And gets in/out of very short airfields with high density passengers/cargo onboard. Truly, a fine craft of engineering by Boeing Company.
Also, explains the durability of the plane, most of the planes that went down of this type was before the actual take off. (One American 757 went down (into a mountain) heading into Cali, after the Captain forgot to crosscheck the location of his arrival SID, which took him into the mountains without knowing)
Yeah it's a real shame, a fantastic, not to mention economic and sexy plane. The 767 was also going to be discontinued, but with the huge Air-to-air re-fueler order by our beloved USAF, kept it out there a few years. I wonder if they will ever bring back a new 727 and/or 75/67 design. I'm actually a Boeing fan, but in the A380, 787 duel, I'm sticking to the A380. There are dozens of reasons why, one is the cockpit, so freakin' "disgusting". I know the A380 is a Boeing design that.
Politics got in the way but Air Force really have problem beacuse of all the merger and such so it only has Boing to choose when looking a tanker think they choose A330 beacause it is newer more advanded aircraft but properly mostly to get Boing of its high horse so they wouldn't misuse their monopoly situation. . If anything it shows that Europe should boycut American military hardware and focus 100% on its own production, because if the US won't buy from EU why should the EU buy from the US.
Don't worry, you will have your way. Most military helicopters and the like are now being bought from Agusta-Westland and other European companies. But just because America doesn't buy from the EU and they buy from America doesn't mean you should boycott them. That's a stupid reason to do so. You buy quality military hardware made by the lowest bidder. That is how military business and spending works. The tests Boeing did were not lies, but as much as I like Airbus, Boeing makes a better tanker.
was scrapped back in 1996. Actually it was MD design on paper with specifications and all. MD was bought a few years later, and the plan was decommissioned. They both share the same technology. Did I also mention my girlfriends uncle flies the A380 with Singapore? (spam)

" Thanks to Southwest for getting me home when another airline couldn't! :)"
You're very lucky indeed. Airlines these days overbook to keep prices down. You were lucky indeed. (Flight was not full then)

I've flown to and from Orange County on the sim many times and once in real life.
The approach is steeper than normal and the landing is very short. I personally thought it was a lot of fun.

Actually, the 757 gets in and out of SNA easier than almost everything else that flies there. It has excellent performance.

I thought they accepted the A330 as the KCX? Did they end up choosing the 767?
