@ysflightman Glad you thought so. Personally I love evrything to do with flying. This quote (attributed to Da Vinci) sums my sentiment up quite nicely. "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."
I don't know why, but for whatever reason, that bit on rotation, lifting into the sky, and that side windows shot immediately afterwards, when coupled with the music, was very emotionally powerful. :P
@ysflightman I think it reminds you of ultimate freedom, soaring away from all your troubles! I get the same feeling! What i'd give to be a pilot, my cousin flies private jets out of Luton!
@ysflightman Wow, that's something else i wouldn't mind trying, where abouts do you do that? Hang gliding looks exhilarating also but i'd imagine you'd need balls of steel!
@4crevis It's not quite hang-gliding, I fly fixed wing sailplanes, such as Schweizer 2-33s, 1-25s, and a few Grobs here and there. There is a small glider-port southwest of me in Beloit Wisconsin. It's great fun, you should try it some day.
@ysflightman Sorry i must have worded it wrong , i did understand what you meant i was just saying you need a lot of guts to take to the skys on a hang glider but then saying that Sailplanes would need a cool nerve also! I take my hat off to you! The closest place to me to try that is a place called Dunstable Downs near Luton Airport funny enough so i may give it a go one day!
In my eyes, the Falcon 900 is the magnum opus of the Falcon family. It's truly an exceptional aircraft. For now, I will continue on in the right seat of the CE-550B with high aspirations of one day flying one of these beautiful aircraft!
Awesome Vid. and yes, I'm a FSX Expert along with all the amazing aftermarket aircraft i have in there. (see: wilco Citation X, CRJ series, Flight1 Mustang, some nice 182's and 210's by Carenado, couple others i'm forgetting right now.) agreed. you can learn oodles from that program. people don't realize just how detailed and "real world" FSX really is. can teach you so much useful info for flying the real deal. I highly recommend it...
Great plane and must have been a nice flight too over London, just have a thing again the music too.
P.S. I fly for an bizz operator into London City and have also done some SVFR flights with a light piston through the London TMA crossing parts of the Greater London area.
@RickTheHague Hi Rick. Yes, maybe the next vid will be sans-music. I think that would be universally popular round these parts. Recent NOTAMS re-iterating rule 5 and no SVFR SEP flights over central London. Guess I'll have to work on the PPL(H)
another dolt video uploader unable to resist the compulsion to to hose an in-cockpit video with music.
btw, i do like the song, but leave it up to me to decide when i want to listen to music, and when i prefer to listen to the aircraft and the cockpit dynamics....thanks.
From Wikipedia: 30 St Mary Axe, also known as the Gherkin and the Swiss Re Building, is a skyscraper in London's main financial district, the City of London, completed in December 2003 and opened at the end of May 2004.
With 40 floors, it is 180 metres (591 ft) tall, and stands on the former site of the Baltic Exchange building, which was severely damaged on 10 April 1992 by the explosion of a bomb placed by the Provisional IRA.
I put this video up for me and my pals who regularly travel in this fine aircraft. I did NOT put the video up so a bunch of flight-simmers can slag it off for not being a 'how to fly a Falcon 900' demonstration video,
You wanna fly one of these babies, get saving and get training. In the meantime, carry on playing with yourselves and your simulators.
@simongadd Nice comment there, I like it. I havet when people say the music ruins the vid because the thing is they should be happy there even is a video in the first place, lol. Looks like a beautifull plane though, much better then the Piper Warrior I fly, lol
@simongadd got a problem with simulators... im a real pilot and i think that if you cant afford to fly right at this moment you should start flying on the fsx and xplane stuff it is amazing how much you can learn from those sims you can tell which students have and havent used the sims. quit being a jerk and inspire people, nobody cares that you can fly a falcon dude. i did enjoy the video though. :)
@simongadd im only 17 so im still on a 172 but im a private pilot instrument rated so i look up to guys like you but you just knoked all of us because we like simulators :( Im not saying ur a bad pilot or anything and i actually think a falcon is a cool plane, i was just angry about what u said to all of us.
@bobistheman02 sims are fun when sitting at home, my dad bought a level-d 767 expansion pack for fs 2004 when he did a conversion from the jumbo to do his captaincy for a bit of revision, he said it helped to get a feel of the layout of the buttons, he could also practice some different approaches at different airports and things like that.
10000000000% agree with you bob. I have about 250 Hours in a Piper Warrior, 150 in a Piper Seminole. And It was thanks to Flight simulator. I got my IFR certificate with ease because of this!!!! I agree with confidence it is the way to go
@PAY6453 Just wandering im thinking off starting my multi training soon just kinda kept pushing it off to the end because it is so expensive... Do you have any tips on financing multi engine training? thanks :)
@simongadd I agree entirely. Instructors can spot simmers/ex-simmers a mile away too because it takes quite a few extra hours to retrain them to fly VFR properly!! That's hours and money that could be better spent elsewhere! :p
Yeah, specially, during the landing transition does'nt show the cockpit, for us to see when the pilot retards the throtter for landing and the reverse trust application. Please next time concentrate on the pilot piloting action better than the outside view, we like to see the cockpit better than watching the scenery. make a balance, but concentrate on the pilot control manipulation. Thanks.
Hi James. Sadly, the jump seat was just behind you which made filming you a little more tricky. There were a few seconds of you but you just didn't make the final cut :-) I'll be happy to rectify the error of my ways on the next trip :-)
wonderful video, good view of London, but i'd rather use the background sounds

great video, but why do ppl put music in it, id rather hear the actual sound
hot00head00red 9 months ago
Because it has more than one engine. In the event of an engine failure the additional engine(s) will allow the aircraft to fly clear of the city.
