@wonderingson with that being said. if u were to flip the bag for a left handed shooter would the bag work just as well. its kinda doesnt look like it but i cant find any good reviews or it being confirmed. can u help me out?
I believe the popularity of this bag exploded with the release of Splinter Cell: Conviction, due to the fact that it is the base for fisher's pack. The only difference is the lack of a pistol pouch on the chest-side of the bag. This leads me to my question, is that pouch on the chest-side removable?
@DJSvenchen yes it is it comes off and has a belt so it can be turned into a fanny-pack while the backpack remains in full usability look up the 5.11 tactical website they have a video for it on there
Hey wonderingson, do you think that "fanny pack" could fit a full-size handgun w/ mags? Would that be feasible (would it bulge too much... would it be just as easy to unholster... etc)?
@harr7959 I don't know where you live but I wouldn't consider a responsible citizen an idiot. Also, I as well as many other people have lived here there entire lives happily. I'm sure your country is quite safe, so is ours.
This scares the holy living shit out of me. I am so glad I do not live in an insane country like the U.S. The idea of idiots carrying around guns is so unbelievably idiotic I can't really put it into words. I hope you manly with your guns, buddy.
the quick release on the main comparment concerns me,
Cant someone just walk up behind u, if ur somewhere busy like a street, subway and just open ur bag quickly with ease and take whats inside. like a laptop, or worse, a firearm.
is there any way to disable or hide. the quick release strap.
@MadameAschaschi Well, I have ti for about a month now. It's fine to carry a laptop, but it does have some issues:
1. it's very large, and the lower corner kinda sticks out.
2. it's a tad stiff ner the shoulder area, and can become uncomfortable.
3. thin guys like me may find the front pouch way too cumbersome.
Apart from that, I like it a lot. All I could ask for would be for the 2nd strap to be usable without the extra pouch and some sort of handle on the side.
@Marchof31Days Thank you for the answer, I just ordered a monsoon and I will have a look at it: May be it won't fit me right, at least my shoulders are not that narrow for a girls, so it might work well ;). The permanent 2nd strap the monsoon comes with was one thing that made my decision. I hope I will be happy with it, else I might exchange it for a tactical select one ... :) Thank yo very much for the answer I guess a lot of people will find it very helpfull!
I have read the specs on the 5.11 site and another retailer but there is no mention of the bag being waterproof / resistant ... i'm guessing it isn't, can you confirm?

Cool setup, but your video is a mirror image. The spelling on your shirt and the 5.11 tag are backwards. I was wanting to run a setup like this left handed, and would be interested in seeing how it would work.
That a real firearm.??
Cool pack.

i saw on the manufacturers website that the compartments on the strap can be removed, can you post a video without the strap compartments?

its optional. you dont have to have it sticking out. you can tuck it in and zip it shut. also the zippers have holes for a small padlock.
