I'd have been like "Aw, sweet! I'm getting a take down! Oh, wait! No! What the damn!?! Why does he have my foot? His jiu jitsu is far superior to mine! I'm going to quit this and take up taekwondo so I can learn crazy ninja flip kicks that look cool but would never work in a fight so I can maybe get a part on a tv show as the burnt sienna Power Ranger. With my Greek features, slender body, and minimal acting skills, I'm a shoe-in!"
He countered the single-leg take-down by rolling to the out-side ending up at his opponent's rear like a reverse ankle-lock sort of hold for a knee-bar or toe-hold. Nice!
Rolling is a way to get out of it. He didn't get what he intended, there was a scramble. Although, if he had rolled after his opponent had secured a figure-four with his legs, or butterfly hook to prevent the roll, or even rolled the wrong way, he could have hurt himself(which is why a lot of competitions don't allow heel-hooks, and knee-bars). The key is to roll before the attacker secures the position to mobilize you to sink in the lock successfully.
Beautiful sub, is that a traditional Sambo move? I've only seen it a few times and never in person. And yes that song is pretty sweet as well. Good job though on getting that move down. I bet the bait and hook really bothers some of the more macho grapplers who feel tricked or something. That is an awesome video.
Music?
