  • I am the same Gordon from El Rancho. Tell me more about you. Are you on Facebook? I glad you liked the song. Thanks!

  • Gordon, Did you happen to live in the El Rancho Verde section in Hayward, Ca back in the 60's and 70's and attended James Logan High School back in the 70's? if so, we were friends back then. No matter what, I enjoyed the song.

  • this is great! Gordon you had me awed, great guitar picking and very nice music!

  • I actually saw Gordon perform this live last night at a jazz club. He is hilarious!!! Thanks for posting!

  • Bitter Root Blend, Hello! I enjoyed meeting you too. I'll keep you posted and you do the same. Would love to hear your CD.

    Gordon

  • I am my town's James Taylor and I completely suck next to this guy. I think I peed myself halfway thru the song. I especially like the dream sequence.

  • Absolutely, hilariously, wonderful! Well done Mr. "Not James Taylor!"

  • great job

  • Keep on composing, this is fresh air, and of course I have noticed you're not JT, you've got much more hair (he,he). BTW, can I get the lyrics?

  • Brilliant...strikingly close...:-)

  • Bravo! You are brilliant! Thank you Enrique for sharing!

    cheers

  • Talented person, this is awesome, wonderful.

  • ....Just a lilttle like he does ".......I would like to sing and play just a half you do

What a great song . Congratulations.

  • Thanks for the kind words. Send it to your JT friends.

    Gordon

  • amazing. You sound great taylor or no taylor. Im a JT fan as you might see from my posts.*****

  • Brilliant! I'm a HUGE JT fan, and you've captured his essence, right down to the guitar technique, WITHOUT ripping him off! This is a wonderful parody that I think ol' Slim himself would love (he's got a great, self-deprecating sense of humor, after all).

    Peace,

    Toby

  • ha ha ha, love it. You sound just like JT!!

  • Hey Gordon!

Great Job on the James Taylor spoof! You have some great technique on the guitar too!

Check out my channel if you get a chance. Great to see you today @ Sunrise.

    Peace,

    Selah :-)

  • Who are you at last? :0)

  • Not sure I should like this.....but I do

    Good job man !

  • Classic Gordon. Just like I remember. JGB

  • Gordon - unbelievable... how wonderful to see your facce, hear your voice... and see my old D-18 after all these years! Kudos!

  • Too funny! Well conceived and even better executed.

  • Very funny! Great tune--you nailed him. (I actually nailed JT once after a night of boozing on the Cape but that was years ago--not sure he'd remember.) Keep up the good work!

  • Gordon-634 views! Cool! I look forward to crashing one of your gigs again soon.

  • GREAT! had me smilin' and amazed the whole time. a parody to the nth degree! what with the augmented chords and hammers and pulloff's and even a Kaiser capo on the 3rd fret! brilliant!! you've mastered his harmonic language, very funny.

  • Awesome! Spot on parody; very funny. I love James Taylor.

  • Gordon, I loved it. Plus, James Taylor is my favorite of all times. You were terrific!

    From,

The Cheeseburger Lady (can't wait for Follies)

  • Maga treated us to your video.....you sure seemed ;likr James Taylor to me, and I'm from Carolina.

    Thanks

Chatham Ross and Lesa E. Ross

  • Very funny, Gordon- and you play better than him.

    David (Ross)

    hope to play/gig again soon-

  • No, you're not JT, you don't quite sound quite like him, but you sure have his tender style and you play guitar as excellently as he does. May I know what vocal mic you use?

I'll sure be listening to more from you.

  • Thanks for the compliments. I'm using an AKG 414 BULS mic on the vocal and a Neumann KM184 on a 1969 Martin D18 guitar.

  • Yeah, Gordon! That was rad!

  • LOL. I tried to post a comment yesterday but youtube blew up my internet explorer...now I'm back with firefox and ready to say "rock on"

    FUN song!

  • "He just sounds a lot like me" is brilliant. Nice recording too. Keep 'em coming!

  • Great song! When will we see more? Hope it's soon. - Brian Steuer

  • Way to go Gordon!! Nice Guitar work, Great song!!
