@kevinkc123 I think all optical cables are the same compatibility, regardless of what equipment you are using them with. A decent one should be about £8/€12
I have the Panasonic SC-PT450 version which shares the same speakers
I connect my Yamaha MG82CX mixer out to the rear scart of the Panasonic
The sound quality is phi-nominal
I tested a pair of active Behringer EUROLIVE B215D watt 15" PA speakers from my mixer & the tiny little Panasonic speakers meant for a home theater blow them away, yet they are meant for clubs. 3 years later & still working.
The version with the square sub is the one to get, like the one in this video. It has HUGE potential.
@funkb0x Each of the 4x 125 watt smaller speakers are very heavy & the center 250 watt speaker heavier still. The 250 watt sub-woofer is lightweight bamboo with a molded poly plastic in/out air cover. I can not stress enough how good this system is. If you like crisp, clear punchy sound with great depth I highly recommend it. The day after I purchased mine for £120 they doubled in price. 3 years later & it's still selling for £120. The sub alone is worth the £120.
Today I bought a DVD receiver model SA HT640, it's got a mini plug for Walkman or iPod, so you're not forced into needing an iPod to use it! Which is the best move, and it offers DVD Audio and ProLogic II decoding, dating to 2006. It is RAM and RW compatible as well as JPEG, WMP and MP3 discs that are made at home, will work, however you can't wire up surround, only a subwoofer, it does the wireless method for the two rears in one cabinet, which I need, anyone know the best source online?!?
@MetallicBill Typo, in there, meant to type out Windows Audio video file capable, not Windows Media Player! haha. I found the remote needed, but it's confusing how many models would share the same surround speaker so I can cross reference any for sale I could use for this one. It DOES have the transceiver
Nice review, I have the same model.. What i wanna is: Why whenever i'm playing a song the volume automatically drops after about 10 seconds... How can i disable it..
@rjh2306 sorry if I didn't explained well. I have a ps3 so I have to put there what types of audio formats does it have like dolby digital 5.1 ch., acc, linear pcm 2 ch. 44.1 kHz ect...
@rjh2306 If you see DVD AUDIO spelled out under the DVD logo or in script on the front, check the specs of any manual and it should also say that DVD AUDIO audiophile CDs with surround sound and video are supported as well, and SACD is not but HDCD is
@rjh2306 that will be nice . But is the 'CEC' working i dont know what the meaning of ' CEC ' but one of Viera Link system . It works like this when u turn off the tv without closing the CD tray after playing vids the tray will automatically close.
@tomblomus Make sure the Digi Optical cable is in your TV and the Panasonic, not your PS3. If u've done that check your tv settings to see if the optical output is switched on. Turn your built in TV speakers off.
ive just bought this system on offer from argos its a beast could you tell me how to get the sound to come on when just watching t.v ive bought a hdmi and audio optical lead?
@TheJobofo Once you have set the system up, connect the optical lead and press the EXT-IN button on the remote until it says D-IN on the display, you may have to enable the optical lead on your TV and disable your TV speakers
like can you just do a longer video plzz coz im geting this system so i just want you to do a longer video coz there is not much videos of this system so i want you to do a longer video of it so i no wat the system is like
Yes, the system is 1000watts (total) and is excellent for the money (only £200). A lot of reviews state the subwoofer is too powerful but believe me it isn't. The 1080p upscaling on the DVDs is very good and is a noticeable difference but not as good as Blue-Ray. This does go VERY loud is I stated on the review and the overall quality (sound + Video) is excellent. I'll warn you about this the system DOES NOT come with a HDMI or Digital Optical cable so you must buy them separately.
How do i get my panasonic PA-ST47 working in conjuction with my PS3 ?? Any info would be great !!! Thanks

@MetallicBill Windows WMA files, if using them on a burned music CD, or just JPEG playback, wish it had a USB port for some added fun

@odaneforever I don't know, I haven't experienced this problem myself, try changing the equaliser to a different mode.
