If Anette would sing 4 octaves in range with G5 as highest than her lowest would be G1. That is pretty much lower than the rutting call of a moose. That would sound like the roaring of guns.
Anette's limit is not G5, but she has belted a G5 and F5 both live and in CD, so that means that by going up to her head voice, it is actually possible that she has 4 octaves range.
I don't actually know Anette's official range, but assuming she can belt G5, it would make sense...

Tarja doesn't do belting because she can't do it properly, not because she is a skillful classical singer.
After Wishmaster, she became a hybrid of classical and mainstream. And since then her vocal limitations became very visible. Her belting is weak, her low end is crap. She was alright at mid-high classical singing, other than that she it not that great.

Tarja studied singing at Sibelius Academy and at Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. While Anette studied ballet. Tarja did sing on a prefessional basis since 1997 while Anette did some occasional gigs with local hero Alyson Avenue.
To sum up: Making Tarja look bad does make Anette look even worse.

Well, yes! But Floor could belt higher if she wanted to, and Nett could belt higher too. Also, listen to Floor's F5 in ''Energize Me'', it's very well sustained, and I wouldn't say it was belted actually. Floor uses mostly chest voice on the ''After Forever'' album, but she doesn't use a belting technique, as she did on After Forever's previous albums! Nett's belted F5s in ''Sacrament Of Wilderness'' were hit only. Her G5 at the end of ''Amaranth'' was hit AND very well sustained.
At least Floor doesn't use the same belting technique as Nett does. Floor's technique makes it a bit harder to hit higher notes and a lot easier to sustain them and add some good vibrato and much power, while Nett's makes it easier to hit higher notes and harder to sustain them. Her belting is extremely powerful and well controlled, but Floor's is more powerful. Both Nett and Floor use good/proper breathing techniques and diaphragm support, though! They are fantastic! :D
That's definitely true, but Anette has such amazing vocal qualities, though. And you can't forget her amazing vocals in Alyson Avenue! She's slowly, though persistently, catching up to Floor's level of singing! Floor will always remain my #1, though.

I love Manda's voice! She's amazingly versatile and SHE can really belt--even in the 5th octave, I believe! Did you know she likes to sing AF songs? Yeah, her technique surpasses most. As for Kimberly, I haven't really heard much from her

Um, no! Actually, Tarja was born a Mezzo Soprano, but she widened her vocal range after MANY years of practice and vocal training. At the beginning of her musical career, she obviously couldn't sing Soprano.
Nett IS a NATURAL Soprano, in fact! She has an incredible range and power! She can BELT G5 in CHEST VOICE, which means she CAN sing G6 in HEAD VOICE.
Nett's vocal timbre is also light and clear, sounding more like a Soprano's, while Tarja's is very deep/dark, sounding more like a Mezzo's.
Anette really shouldn't sing this song...It's like Tarja's finale..You know...The big bang you're gonna remember Tajra and the actual "Nightwish"....But she does sing good.

I bet Tarja said she FELT like a guest musician in terms of how she was being treated. Just like how Tuomas said that SHE had said she could leave the band with one day's notice, but didn't mention it was in the middle of a heated argument years earlier where HE was yelling at Tarja. Of course he doesn't say what HE said to her that made her so angry.
There were several possible reasons for the open letter.
A) Publicity
B) Destroy Tarja's reputation
There was no other reason to make such a public spectacle of Tarja's termination from the band.
A simple "Tarja left due to personal and professional reasons" would have sufficed. But that isn't what happened, and for them to attack her with their letter indicates it was deep down and personal, and great publicity for them at the same time.
Actually, Nightwish is more Tuomas' thing than it ever was Tarja's - or, at least Tarja has been speaking of Nightwish like it never was really important to her other than as experience. So why do you Tarja-fans go on saying stuff like that? Nightwish is Nightwish, whoever the singer is. I mean, they changed the bassist before, and no-one got all worked up about that. Why? Wrong. Tarja gave the band it's character and was a huge factor in its success. Marco didn't substract anything from the band, he ADDED an extra dimension with his vocals.
Let's face it, bass players are easily replaced, UNLESS they do more than just play bass.

Anette's limit is not G5, but she has belted a G5 and F5 both live and in CD, so that means that by going up to her head voice, it is actually possible that she has 4 octaves range.
I don't actually know Anette's official range, but assuming she can belt G5, it would make sense...

After Wishmaster, she became a hybrid of classical and mainstream. And since then her vocal limitations became very visible. Her belting is weak, her low end is crap. She was alright at mid-high classical singing, other than that she it not that great.

There is no sense in comparing Tarja and Anette for they are totally different singers. But it´s ridiculous to defend Anette by saying Tarja isn´t a good singer. Tarja studied singing at Sibelius Academy and at Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. While Anette studied ballet. Tarja did sing on a prefessional basis since 1997 while Anette did some occasional gigs with local hero Alyson Avenue.
To sum up: Making Tarja look bad does make Anette look even worse.

No usually professional singers have a voice range of 2 to 2,5 octaves. In opera a singer is hired as soprano or mezzo or alto therfore an opera singer usually doesn´t get to sing more than 1,5 octaves.

Also, listen to Floor's F5 in ''Energize Me'', it's very well sustained, and I wouldn't say it was belted actually. Floor uses mostly chest voice on the ''After Forever'' album, but she doesn't use a belting technique, as she did on After Forever's previous albums! Nett's belted F5s in ''Sacrament Of Wilderness'' were hit only. Her G5 at the end of ''Amaranth'' was hit AND very well sustained.

At least Floor doesn't use the same belting technique as Nett does. Floor's technique makes it a bit harder to hit higher notes and a lot easier to sustain them and add some good vibrato and much power, while Nett's makes it easier to hit higher notes and harder to sustain them. Her belting is extremely powerful and well controlled, but Floor's is more powerful. Both Nett and Floor use good/proper breathing techniques and diaphragm support, though! They are fantastic! :D

Um, no! Actually, Tarja was born a Mezzo Soprano, but she widened her vocal range after MANY years of practice and vocal training. At the beginning of her musical career, she obviously couldn't sing Soprano.
Nett IS a NATURAL Soprano, in fact! She has an incredible range and power! She can BELT G5 in CHEST VOICE, which means she CAN sing G6 in HEAD VOICE.
Nett's vocal timbre is also light and clear, sounding more like a Soprano's, while Tarja's is very deep/dark, sounding more like a Mezzo's.

Anette totally ROCKS singing this!
I saw them live and besides having a cool voice, she's nice, has a good stage presence, and most important...you can see that all the band gets along pretty well, always smiling, joking around, etc.
So, stop bitching Anette! If the band wanted a new soprano, they would have chosen one! Nightwish's songs don't need Tarja's voice to be good and powerfull, and the proof of that is Dark Passion Play. Awesome album!

TARJA definatly. Just look at Anette. especially with the volume turned all the way down. She dosent feel the music, she doesent have the passion for it like Tarja has. She makes herself seem like shes just in it cause they pay her to, shes someone the other members picked just to fill the spot but its not her place to sing with this band. shes just a pretty face to stick in front of the crowd and say "were back" but Tarjas place can never be filled.

I bet Tarja said she FELT like a guest musician in terms of how she was being treated. Just like how Tuomas said that SHE had said she could leave the band with one day's notice, but didn't mention it was in the middle of a heated argument years earlier where HE was yelling at Tarja. Of course he doesn't say what HE said to her that made her so angry.

Nope. The band fired her in a horribly nasty way backstage of the Hartwell concert as she had tears of joy in her eyes and was hugging them.
Then they smeared her and tried to ruin her reputation and destroy her professionally and emotionally.

There were several possible reasons for the open letter.
A) Publicity
B) Destroy Tarja's reputation
There was no other reason to make such a public spectacle of Tarja's termination from the band.
A simple "Tarja left due to personal and professional reasons" would have sufficed. But that isn't what happened, and for them to attack her with their letter indicates it was deep down and personal, and great publicity for them at the same time.

Actually, Nightwish is more Tuomas' thing than it ever was Tarja's - or, at least Tarja has been speaking of Nightwish like it never was really important to her other than as experience. So why do you Tarja-fans go on saying stuff like that? Nightwish is Nightwish, whoever the singer is. I mean, they changed the bassist before, and no-one got all worked up about that. Why? Marco wasn't there originally! Why don't you "hard-core" fans hate him?

Wrong. Tarja gave the band it's character and was a huge factor in its success. Marco didn't substract anything from the band, he ADDED an extra dimension with his vocals.
Let's face it, bass players are easily replaced, UNLESS they do more than just play bass.
