when elp showed their versions of the music of Ginastera, he said "damn, nobody ever had been capable to capture my music in this way, it's the same way that I imagine it"
Actually, Emerson's version is derived from Ginastera's suite of creole dances, not the actual 'Creole Dance'. That's probably why you don't recognize it.
This looks difficult, if not impossible, to play mistake-free! Yet Keith manages to do so on ELP's "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" CD. You can SEE Keith playing it, but apparently at a different show--it's not exactly the same, on the DVD of the same title.
I agree. People have lost their sense of creativity in music. While rap and other mainstream types of music flood the market, we are loosing a pure artform. The only thing we can do as musicians is to keep the spirit of Emerson's creations alive and hopefully one day the spirit of creativity will return.
If who post this, is in fact, ORLAND CHARLES, I i´d like to ask, and even more, have an answer. where did you get the score? and, what other ELP song can you play :P
Cool. I played the Ginestera version of the Creole Dance and the first American Prelude, Accents, my freshman year in highschool. Sounds like Emerson made Creole Dance a little less weird.
congratulations man, it's fantastic !

He said something like that, but it was about "Toccata" which is an adaptation of "Toccata Concertata" from Ginastera's Piano Concerto no. 1.

I played the Ginastera piece last year. Sounds nothing like this Emerson adaptation. But this was STELLAR. Way to go.

The opening to this piece is so exciting. Where can you find the sheet music for it? I'd love to play it.

Ginastera is cool when at least half of the notes are right. *sigh*

Got sheet music for it? I'd greatly appreciate it if you send it to me.

On of my greatest regrets in life is that I cannot play piano. I know it's never too late to learn but I'm too into drums now :P

KE won't be understood or appreciated till he is long gone. Oran's work will be appreciated in about 30 years.
